  • Season the neck bones with lawry season salt, adobo seasoning, mrs. dash garlic and herbs, accent, and black pepper, cook the neck bones until tender, but not falling off the bone. make sure most of the water has boiled out just leaving the amount you want for gravy. Add one medium onion or much as you want, and flour and water thickening which consist of 1 1/2 tablespoons flour and just enough water to make flour thickening. Cook until thick and taste to your liking.

    I haven’t had neck bones & rice in probably 40 years, since my mom made them for me back when I was in my 20’s, lol. Thank you for a blast from the past; she cooked them separately too so you’re recipe is the one I’m gonna use when I make these. Thanks and have a blessed day! 😊🙏

      You are so welcome. You shouldn't need but a heaping tablespoon of flour or just a little bit more than a tablespoon, depending on how thick you want your gravy.

    • @georgiacookingforthesoul
      @georgiacookingforthesoul  Год назад +2

      You cook the neck bones until tender, because I don't know how long everyone stove cooks different.when you can stick a fork into it about 1 1/2 hours of cook time.

    • @georgiacookingforthesoul
      @georgiacookingforthesoul  2 года назад +2

      Once the neck bones have about 20 to 30 minutes of cook time left add your 1 tablespoon of flour and onion to the pot, make sure it's enough broth for the gravy or add some water.

    How do you cook Neckbones and noodles

    • @georgiacookingforthesoul
      @georgiacookingforthesoul  7 месяцев назад

      You wash and season your neckbones with the season of choice. I would use seasoned salt any kind, complete seasoning, accent, and black pepper. Let them cook on high for about 1 1/2 hours maybe longer check the meat with a fork for doneness, but at this stage you don't want your neckbones to be done all the way because this is when you add your noodles and now you are vocal on when the noodles cook everything will be ready. Taste your noodles for the doneness you like everyone likes theirs different. Enjoy!

    So I been wasting time... pre-boiling ... cleaning the pot and bones.... then adding back to clean pot.

      If that's your thing, continue, but I don't see the use in that. The only thing I know is that you throw away your flavor.
