- Season the neck bones with lawry season salt, adobo seasoning, mrs. dash garlic and herbs, accent, and black pepper, cook the neck bones until tender, but not falling off the bone. make sure most of the water has boiled out just leaving the amount you want for gravy. Add one medium onion or much as you want, and flour and water thickening which consist of 1 1/2 tablespoons flour and just enough water to make flour thickening. Cook until thick and taste to your liking.

It was popular growing up in Georgia. What part of GA is the cook from?
Wow this makes me want to cry 😭😭😭 This is the first dish my grandmother ever showed me how to make and every time I make it reminds me of her And at the same time I'm connected to other people that I don't even know I eat I've had the blessing of eating food from all over the world but there's nothing like good old-fashioned soul food Yes Lawd
That's right; there is none. compared to what I have tried.

I haven’t had neck bones & rice in probably 40 years, since my mom made them for me back when I was in my 20’s, lol. Thank you for a blast from the past; she cooked them separately too so you’re recipe is the one I’m gonna use when I make these. Thanks and have a blessed day! 😊🙏
You are so welcome Dave! Thank You for your comment, we never forget those delicious meals our mommas made years ago.
I think that's a GA thing. It was popular in my Georgia area growing up (Middle Georgia region).

Thank You so very much for your support.
This was awesome, and great job with this meal. It reminds me of Grandma's dinner meals as well. Great Job! I am going to give it a try, and I caught some measurements with the flour. Thanks
You are so welcome. You shouldn't need but a heaping tablespoon of flour or just a little bit more than a tablespoon, depending on how thick you want your gravy.
The family love this meal and you were right about the flower as well. This was delicious. Thanks for sharing.

How long did u boil it for before adding the flour and after?
Cook until almost done, with maybe 30 minutes of Cook time left.
How long do you usually cook yours?
It cooks mostly about one and half hours.
You have a spare room? Yummy 😋...
Thank You so much Suzy! No I don't know a spare room.
Dinette set is gorgeous 🤩
Is there a way to make the color of the gravy richer……I mean a little darker?🤔
Yes...brown the flour first in a cast iron skillet....a roux
…or use Gravy Master.
My mother always used Kitchen Bouquet to make her gravy a nice dark brown🙂
❤❤❤😊😊
Thank You so much!
Yummy
Thank You so much!
How long do you suppose to cook the neckbones on the stove??
You cook the neck bones until tender, because I don't know how long everyone stove cooks different.when you can stick a fork into it about 1 1/2 hours of cook time.
How long did you let them cook?
About 1 1/2 hours.
How long do you let them cook?
Neck bones it take about an hour and a half. Always check your meat with a fork for tenderness. Heat medium.
When u add the flour can I add 2 gravy packets at that time? I don’t have flour on hand 😢
yes you can.
@@georgiacookingforthesoul thanks for responding ❤️❤️❤️
How long does the neckbones cook?
About two hours, but always check for tenderness. They should be tender when done.
Ok
Till tender
Is it pork or beef
pork
How do you make the gravy again? Also how long do I cook the neck bones before adding onions and gravy?
Once the neck bones have about 20 to 30 minutes of cook time left add your 1 tablespoon of flour and onion to the pot, make sure it's enough broth for the gravy or add some water.
Hi👋🏾Are they pork or beef?
How do you cook Neckbones and noodles
You wash and season your neckbones with the season of choice. I would use seasoned salt any kind, complete seasoning, accent, and black pepper. Let them cook on high for about 1 1/2 hours maybe longer check the meat with a fork for doneness, but at this stage you don't want your neckbones to be done all the way because this is when you add your noodles and now you are vocal on when the noodles cook everything will be ready. Taste your noodles for the doneness you like everyone likes theirs different. Enjoy!
So I been wasting time... pre-boiling ... cleaning the pot and bones.... then adding back to clean pot.
If that's your thing, continue, but I don't see the use in that. The only thing I know is that you throw away your flavor.
Those Neckbones seem to have a lot of meat on them.
Yes, they did. Sometimes you could find them with a lot of meat.
Sure miss my mom neck bones.
I know you Does, but don't give up cook them yourself just follow my video.
