Thank you, Kaylene😘, every time I use blues I always always think they’re my favorite too and then I go to another color palette and I think that’s my favorite. I guess I’m wishy-washy.😂
Thank you for this in depth tutorial, Louise! Even though I am not a newbie to blooms, etc, I am happy to learn new techniques and recipes. You have such a great technique that you have perfected and I am so grateful that you're willing to share it with all of us. Super beautiful colors and the cells are amazing!
Another beauty Louise! I know you won’t waste those other skins you’ll put them to good use! I realized at the end of your video today that I used your ending in my video but I’ve used it lots of times before it was way down in my list 😂 you probably didn’t realize it! ❤😂
Thank you, Donna, 😘and yes, I’ll probably find a good use for those skins. And yes, I use that song “inspiration“ at the end of all of my videos at least probably for the last eight months or so. I guess we have good taste.😉
Thanks so much Tara😘I’m so glad you stopped by😀 I haven’t thrown out the skins though because they may have a purpose somewhere else down the line! but in the meantime, it led me to create this so I always think everything is a steppingstone. Just like in your gorgeous bloomed textured piece that had a surprise.😁
Louise, I found this very refreshing, and reminded me of a lot of things I had forgotten of what to use and when, and how to mix some of the medium that I somehow did not see you do, in all the videos I have watched 😉 So I have something new to try, to see is I can make something more beautiful then I have been doing 🙂 Thanks for refresher videos, as I sometimes have a hard time finding the right video, to solve my "questions"...Take care, and Thanks again...have a great time in Washington D.C. !! Be safe 🤗😗❣
Thank you again, 😘Jude for being here and yes, if you look at video 140 it shows how I mix my pouring medium, now I do use the Valspar 833124, but in the video 140 I’m using a Gliddon. I think it was GL and 6311N, both are fine to use and both work equally well with my cell activator and pillows. Wish you the best of luck, I’m starting to put my head around next week.🤨
Thank you so much, Amy, I appreciate that and to answer your question. No, I haven’t put out a video of this as I’ve gone through trial and error and discovered a lot of different subtleties that I’m holding on to for now.
@@LouiseMcKayArt Absolutely! I love the colors too. I NEED color to breathe. Blues, greens, and purples are one fave combo of mine. Hot pink, orange, yellow, and lime green is another awesome combo!
Love love love the colors!!! My favorite and signature color is turquoise! Can you link the videos for your diy pillow paint and suggested brands and recipe and also your cell diy and recipe as well? My husband is a handyman and has a surplus of house paint that I can easily snatch for my own business hahaha what's his is mine visa versa ya sure! I'd appreciate it due to budget right now and if I can use what I already have then win win for me! Thanks so much I also appreciate you replying to all my questions. Can you also explain which Arteza paints you use, I'm researching and see small bottles, big bottles, tubes is it all different? I just don't want to invest in the wrong medium.
Wow… you’re putting me to task…I’ve only ever used two pillow paints multi pro by PPG 47-3110 and Glidden 6011N. I really can’t go through a whole breakdown of the Arteza paints as I have a bunch of them I do like their acrylic pearl paints. I often call out the paints in the videos and since I can’t link any pictures, I can only just explain but primarily the pearl paints are what I like to use. Be careful with the house paint because not every house Paint is going to work well as a pillow, you’d be looking for no higher than a satin sheen for your pillow. You can go look at some of the Sherwin-Williams color to go as well, people often use that I’ve used them a few times.
@LouiseMcKayArt Thank you I'm trying to use what I have and just realized as well that we have a variety of stains in the garage along with different house paints. I'll have to go rummage around and see what I can find. I want to invest in the paints most since the pillow and cell activator can be various elements. Do you use the pillow paint straight out of the can or add anything to it first? With the activator do you put it down after the paints are down? I'm super excited and writing down everything I need to start.
Those four failures still glow! Remember what Bob Ross said, "There are no failures in art. Only happy accidents." See if someone might buy them as is, Maybe?
Lovely as usual Louise! I bought some of these boards and made my daughter a charcuterie board but when I went to put on the handles the screws were too short to attach! Did I put too much resin or do you have same issue? How do you put your resin on and still use the same handles? Thank you for any help you may provide
Hi Trudy, 1 pass of resin and sometimes it’s tight, I’ve drilled into the hole a tad more to get me 1/32 or 1/16” more depth for the screw…another option is longer screws but I haven’t done that ever.
@@LouiseMcKayArt thanks so much. And I’m so amazed at how quickly you respond. That is amazing to me. Actually I made something yesterday that didn’t completely offend me. So I’d like to think I’m making progress. Lol.
