I have had a lot of questions on the type of paint and how I thin my paint down. This is all acrylic paint thinned down with water and pouring medium. You can just use water if you don't want to use pouring medium. This is specifically Floetrol but there are tons of brands of pouring medium that you can use.
Hi Amanda, thank you for showing us, how to make nice decoration. My little daughter (7) copied you. It is awesome. We re gonna do it for the childrensparty next weekend. Simple and nice looking. Thank you for sharing your work with us.
Absolutely GORGEOUS! It has what my husband and I like to call the "it" factor. We both do art as well and always know when we have found "IT" or if "it" got away!
I love this piece - its the one that converted me from watching YT videos of fluid art to actually trying it for myself. About 2 weeks ago I first stumbled upon someone doing fluid art and just found it very relaxing watching them at work and seeing the outcomes. After watching your video for the first time I went "I want to do this!!" - so thank you for inspiring me 🙂
I just wanted to let you know I have just seen this for the first time today! WOW! I’m stunned by the colors and beauty of this work of art! Again WOW!♥️
@@idontknowwhyiamherewow7780 The Caribbean is beautiful indeed and it's nice to be surrounded with so many beaches, but I am sure wherever you live, it is beautiful in its own special way. For example snow. Sometimes it can get so hot here, you dream of cold, nice snow. As for visiting well that's very possible. Start envisioning it and see yourself on the plane with your family heading here.
Exceptional work! You are really an artist, not only any "color-mixer"! And you know that you are as good that you must not hide your knowledge. Thanks for that!
Гениально! Я потрясена! Впервые вижу такой способ.. Какие цвета... какой рисунок получился...👏 Спасибо! Успехов в Ваших художественных экспериментах! 🌀🎨✨🌹
Amanda, I really like your two-armed pattern with negative space. And this color combo is gorgeous! Then the cells began to appear....oh, I'm smitten! I tend to use the blues, teals, and greens, but you may have converted me to these super warm colors. Thank you for the inspiration and this video, Amanda! Happy hugs from Southern California.
Thank you! I started using thse earlier this year and absolutely love them! They blend so well and the cells in this one turned out so well. I can try another one with blues, green and teal and see what I can come up with too. I also enjoy those colors.
OK, now I'm drooling over the thought of you creating a bloom in blues, greens, and teals! (*laughing at myself*) I'm SUCH a sucker for color (like everyone else in this community). I look forward to your next artistic video, Amanda. Wishing you a wonderful week!
I already have a couple of videos for Tuesday and Friday, but I will work on one in those colors for Sunday!! Thank you and have a nice holiday week :)
Quick one: When you pour white paint all over board, do you let it dry? And post that all colors pouring? And great piece of art by the way. :) Amazing
Love this!! I'd love to make a larger design of this for my moms beach house. Not sure what colors to use yet. She's got some funky colors for her walls: lilac, orange, sage and blue. Any ideas?
Do you prefer a floetrol / glue / water mix, the liquitex pouring medium or another option? Do you always use semi-gloss house paint when you're doing negative space dutch pours? This piece is stunning
When I want cells I stick with water and floetrol; I don't use glue in my mix. When I don't want cells, I use Sargent Art gloss medium. I rarely use liquitex PM or other pms. With Dutch Pours, I just do normal acrylic paint, not house paint, for the base.
Amanda this is a job well done. Love the colours you used. It turned out amazing. I am definitely going to try my hand on this composition. Love all the way from South Africa
This is my first video of yours, new sub! Wow I came in on an amazing piece! I agree with your husband! These are my favorite to do right now, when I can... And those are my fave colors to use! Simply spectacular!
I did this in 1969 when | was a 9 year old kid blowing through drinking straws to move the paint. I won 6 shillings prize money for it in a competition. I forgot all about it until I saw this
Floetrol definitely helps like the creator of the video commented, but it's not strictly needed. Another RUclipsr, Rinkse Douna, is able to get this effect with no additives at all. The main thing she does is hit the painting with a creme brulee torch after blowing it out. I personally have been finding whether or not I use Floetrol may end up varying by what paint I'm using. Just experiment with paint type, consistency, and a torch a little to get a feel for how they form. I've found some paints just form cells effortlessly while, another similar color from the same brand, barely forms them at all without adding floetrol. edit: also, one thing to keep in mind, that cells from by a covered layer of paint breaking through the top layer. Paying attention to layer thickness and paint consistency can help with this. It's possible the top layer is too thick (in both terms of consistency and amount of paint used) for the underlying layers to break through. This is also where a torch comes in handy. The head causes the top layer to contract and pops air bubbles helping facilitate this.
simply beautiful!!!!! i was wanting a way to do my own counter tops in my home and this is it!!!! unique and simple and inexpensive!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!!!!!
I bought some acrylics time ago... I think I will try something very soon. It was mesmerizing and a valuable contemplative time watching you... and inspiring. Well done.
@@amandasdesignsofficial I really must try doing one of these, one of these days. They look fabulous. I was interested in how you pretty much held the hair dryer directly above and blew in the direction of the paint, rather than going side to side. Yet you still got that effect by blowing it yourself. I need to buy a hairdryer as mine doesn't have a diffuser. Plus, it only does hot. (Very old) Thanks for sharing 💕

When you're using the blow drier, does it matter if its on heat or blowing cold air?
I prefer it on the cooler side. Heat/hot can dry the paint too quickly for me.
