Judge Weller awarded the mother $10,000 because she is the one with the child. That is the compassionate choice since he is a multimillionaire. The husband claimed he didn't have the money buts spends lavishly all the while. Those guns aren't cheap either.
and actually Judge Weller only intervened after Mack reneged on the agreement he made with Charla and even then only ordered him to pay 1/4 of his income for support. Funny how he could go off to Swingers Clubs and buy a new lux condo, but not pay basic support and then claim he had no money. The last part is really bs because the court has his financial records and can see his financial affairs along with all the money squandered on sex clubs, etc. 3hours of self-pity and bs lies.

The victim probably had reactive abuse which is her way of self defense. They do things that are extremely hurtful then when you react they record you. If you haven’t been in an abusive relationship you won’t understand what is happening. This man blatantly killed his ex wife and his girlfriend defends him and friends. This is so classic.

It’s amazing how everybody is skipping over this what needs to be discussed man or put in a position where they have to pay money and if they don’t pay the money or they can’t afford it, they have to go to jail. They have to lose their drivers license and all of that and nobody sees that is evil. Throughout part 1 and part 2 I kept seeing my 2nd husband in all of Darren’s actions and words.
Both are pure narcissists.
My ex even blamed all of his family even his parents for things that went wrong in his life. He didn’t have a tough childhood. He was their baby and they spoiled him. And still were when they were in their late 80’s.
And our courtship was textbook narcissistic lovebombing. There were times I said “this guy is too good to be true”. And he was.

The son from the previous marriage seemed to be trying to convince himself as well as his dad & his dad’s family that he loved his dad. I felt he was just trying to not fall out of favor with them for fear his money would be cut off. His father seemed like he is not capable of feeling any real empathy for his son. It looked fake & forced. It felt cold & unfeeling. I felt bad for his son who thought his dad was a mentor & someone to be looked up to. That is another real tragedy of this case.

As a former ward of the state who was adopted I'm just going to say right now that this psycho doesn't speak for any rights person and how dare he use that as an excuse, it damages legitimately driven causes and harms even more innocent people. The family courts are always contentious. No matter who is involved, this dude is a good prime example why I have always supported capital punishment.
I always did too until they managed to change the length of time it takes to fulfill the sentence. It can now last 20 or 30 years or somewhere down the line it gets commuted to life. I now believe life without parole far surpasses the death penalty. With the death penalty they have a separate cell in a separate part of the prison. With life without parole, they live in the general population always looking over their shoulder in fear of what might happen. Then they get a taste of what they put another human felt before they were killed.

The only really notable thing about this case, and I lived in Reno at the time it happened, was that the husband of the Nevada state controller he murdered (married to Kathy Augustine), told fellow nursing colleagues that Mack was an idiot in the manner he killed his wife. What Augustine's husband, Chaz Higgs, was reported to have said the day before he murdered her was all you had to do is give the wife "a little bit of succ," meaning the drug succinylcholine because it was difficult if not impossible to detect postmortem. They did tests with Augustine's body thanks to a tip from a witness to Higgs' statements, and ol' Higgs is doing time in prison, just like the "stupid" Darren Mack.
