Rebar bending tool 2.0 - MODIFICATIONS completed, but does it work?

- Earlier in the year I made a rebar (reobar) tool to bend the reinforcement bar in the retaining wall foundations, however there were some design flaws which I'll address and fix in this video.
You can see the original build here-

You can see the first use of the rebar bender here-

I'm in the middle of a fairly involved retaining wall to support the mini-barn build, so it was timely to modify the tool and put it to work. The next video for the MINI BARN series will be out soon!

this guys videos are great, his jolly attitude puts me in a good mood as soon as he starts talking
Thanks and glad you’re enjoying the videos. Life can be hard enough without being miserable about it!
Seeing the brickwork again was an added bonus to a great episode…Bend it Like Beckham …errrr…Rebar
Nice! Who knew I’d be building another retaining wall so soon after the last one🙄. This one will also have a bit of brickwork added.
Great job and great video, this channel is a treasure waiting to be discovered by the masses.
Thanks for the encouragement. I'm looking forward to getting more accomplished with video editing (faster!) so I can get more frequent with publishing my content. Just taking baby steps at the moment 😀
The V2.0 rebar bender is a big improvement. Also the brick retaining wall on the parking area looks to be standing up well. Keep up the good work :)
Thanks. Finished off the steel work this week and poured the footings, so the next video isn’t too far away.
Funny you mention the brick wall- a 10 tonne concrete pumping truck reversed into it this week…….😬
Fortunately the over-engineering paid off and the truck came out worse off than the wall🤣🤣
@@danwaterson356 Looking forward to seeing the progress on the mini-barn. Hope you were lucky enough to capture the pumping truck incident on video 😀 Someone once told me to 'Never under-do, the overengineering'! That advice mostly paid off for me...
A man of many talents Dan, looking forward to the next video...
Thank you. I've got one more day of work to be ready to start editing the next instalment. IT takes about 20-30 hours to edit and prepare the video so I'm hopeful it will be out soon. Editing is a new skill so I'm still developing my workflow - hope to get better at it soon!
Nice work! :)
Thanks 👍
Thanks Dan, I do enjoy your content. Kind regards, Paul from Whitemans Valley
Thanks for the comment Paul, much appreciated. Nice part of the region, Whitemans Valley. I nearly bought a section there before I found this place.
Great. I've been waiting for more of this fascinating project.
I'm loving this project as well, and can't wait to start building the structure. The longer it takes me and the more time I spend thinking about the design, and the more complex I make it!
I've one more day of work before hitting the computer again to edit the next instalment.
@@danwaterson356 Your editing is very skilful 👍
I’ve been subscribed to your channel for quite some time and every time I hear your voice it’s always bugged me because it sounds very familiar, maybe not to everyone but you sound like the voice over to Thomas The Tank Engine.
Thanks for bedding subscribed. It really does help out the channel in the way RUclips promotes my content.
Ha! If you mean the original narrator of Thomas the Tank, then he’s a much better drummer than I 🤣🤣🤣. It has been said by others, and I’m hoping it’s a compliment!
Bolt your drill vice down… when the hole saw catches you’ll loose your fingers mate…
Move to Australia please I want some of your brickwork 👍👍👍
That’s a good point. This drill press has a very sensitive shut off switch that triggers as soon as the safety guard is moved, so anything hitting it (like the vice or the work piece) would cause the drill to shut down instantly. That said, you’re right that keeping hands well away from the work would be best and guarantee safety.
Australia is just so hot, don’t think I’d be very productive! Some more brickwork to come on the tiny barn project.
@ all good, never reply on any safety system for your own safety,
Tassie mate for brickwork 👍👍👍… about same as Wellington, Nelson type of weather but less wind 😀😀😀 Sydney is similar to Auckland not as humid though….
School does that mean we have to cal you Mr Waterson or sir. Or get hard hat really interested video sir.
Ha! Students call me Mr Waterson (to my face anyway, not sure what they call me behind my back 🤣) but friends such as yourself can call me Dan. The hard hat is optional...
