Pennywise The Alcoholic Clown yes it would be better to play them in order. Not that you'll have a problem if doing the opposite but there are a lot mentions from the first story on the second one. I had a little hard time when I tried to play them in the opposite order tho.

Actually I did that inetro 2033, not a single kill, always strangling them until they're unconscious. But I believe in some Areas, you had to fight so it wasn't a 100% clean run sadly :/

MC_Master It's the hidden Moral Mechaninc in both games. You know the blue/red tint thats on the screen after you spare/kill someone? Do enough blue and you get saved by the mini-dark one.
For me Metro series feel like The Witcher series not in terms of gameplay tho, first two games are story-driven game with linear gameplay and rich story, but then in the third game they turned it into open world still with rich story and even more magnificent world, also not forget to say both developers aren't always hungry for money but instead they care a lot about their costumers. I hope Metro Exodus has same fate and great result when it's released..

Absolutely love this serious! I feel like it's super underrated, especially in the U.S. I have also read the books and really enjoyed them as well. Cannot wait for this game definitely GOTY 2019.

You know, I saw the early release trailer of this last year and I thought, "Huh. That looks interesting" but I didn't have any reason to be overly hyped for it because I hadn't played the Metro games prior to that. Now a year later and having played both 2033 and Last Light Redux to completion, I can say that I am extremely excited for this game. I seriously cannot wait for this game to release and I agree with what one comment said below, perhaps it's time for another post-apocalyptic shooter to shine instead of Fallout: MMO Edition. Don't get me wrong, I plan on buying FO76 regardless just to see how it is but I don't plan on buying any DLCs unless the game turns out to be really good.
I Love Stalker, Metro and another PostApo settings (Road, Postman, Fallout, even a Borderlands) and feels that much, that i made a own PostApo setting for Pen and Paper RPGs to play, with anomaly, entity, mutants, social pressure (factions and organisations in intriques and wars) and so... Its called Metropolis (little bit inspired too in that old Movie by same name).

Fallout has long been dead, starting from the third part. Metro is generally only a shooter, without a hint of RPG and its elements. Where are at least some similarities, except for setting?

I actually think the original 2033 is a FAR better game then the Redux. Redux changes the atmosphere of SO many areas, and also makes the gameplay/stealth/range modes FAR worse IMO. However the original is also basically no longer available.
I remember back in 2016 i was looking for single player games and saw the METRO BUNDLE on steam and it was sale. I only bought the redux and i must say, i was grateful i bought it 9/10 the story was amazing and the graphics is just purely masterpiece. I haven’t played the metro 2033 yet and imma download it today

Metro Exodus and Atomic Heart both look so amazing so I have no choice but to pre order both. I haven't played the previous Metro games, I know they're good but do you think you'll be able to enjoy Exodus without having played the other games? Also check out Atomic Heart if this genre of games interests you. They're both very similar but Atomic Heart looks way more wacky and surreal, it's like Metro on LSD.

I played Metro 2033 and Last Light but this trailer is making me mord exciting than playing games maded before. I'm waiting for this game hoping that this part of Artem story will be the best. (BTW the music is so epic)

+IB600, he meant that revealing a game so absurdly early is just blueballing, especially with a release date so far away. I rather they do the Nintendo thing and only reveal a release date and a purchase date when it's almost certain to come out.

Metro Exodus and Atomic Heart both look so amazing so I have no choice but to pre order both. I haven't played the previous Metro games, I know they're good but do you think you'll be able to enjoy Exodus without having played the other games? Also check out Atomic Heart if this genre of games interests you. They're both very similar but Atomic Heart looks way more wacky and surreal, it's like Metro on LSD.

Last Light did have a few DLCs but those were completely seperate stories.
I know that's a reference to Fallout 76 but it's incorrect. Preorders don't give players access to parts of the game that non preorders won't (aside from the normal item rewards common in any game)

This is following a mix of Last Light and 2035, most likely the Metro unified in fear of false information spreading around the Metro which made the inhabitants think WW3 is still going on, forcing Artyom and Anna to flee with a few others for knowing the information's bullshit.
