Today we are using 1x3x8 mdf boards and 1x2x8 mdf boards to create this beautiful and unique diy accent wall. I hope you enjoy watching this process. My husband and I had so much fun working on this project. it's amazing how a few boards and paint can transform a bedroom . thank you for watching have a wonderful day 😊

My son is the same way, he works with wood and construction all day, when I ask him to help me with a project he growls, but then he feels bad about it, and by then I've already finished the task myself. 🙄

I have never seen anyone do this design and I really like it because it is different! I didn't think I would like the dark color on the wall, but I am surprised how well I really like it, such a very classy room, it is beautiful! Also enjoy seeing you and your husband working together!

The accent wall came out gorgeous! I'm with you on dark, moody walls. Our master bedroom in our last home I painted the walls a beautiful dark blue and anchored the room with crisp, white custom curtains and our furniture was also white, it brought the room in (18x16) and made it moody and cozy. I love watching your sweet family interact, you and Dylan work well together and remind me of my hubby and I ❤.

I did want to mention that you should probably use at least an eggshell finish in wet areas such as laundry rooms, bathrooms and kitchens because it is more moisture resistant.
Amazing job! I’m very happy it came out the way you envisioned. Can’t lie but I would have to get use to the dark but with the lightning and the white/light colors offsetting, the wall and the room look great.

I love it. I painted my whole room black all because of a painting I found at target that was moody and I didn’t want to spend almost 100.00 on it so instead I bought flat black paint and did my whole room. The funny thing is I got that painting that was at target at a discount store after the holidays for 20.00 and it looks amazing in my moody black room.

I did this same design in our bedroom last year. I loved it but it was so hard. I went with the cheaper quality boards and it nearly killed me getting them plum! Loved it in the end!
Yes they are so crooked 😅 sometimes lowes will get a good load but this time I was like nope ill pay a little extra to save myself from the headache 😅

Quick question: did you use wood filler or caulking to join the seam of the two top boards towards the ceiling? I think I may want to do something like this in my bedroom ❤️👍🏾…
I used the caulk 😁 you can still see it a little but with such a dark color it's not too noticeable 😊

I have a faux brick wall in the dining room that I painted in urbane bronze. I love that color! I want to paint the mantel in the same color, it's on my to do list!

I have a can of urban bronze in our storage unit at the moment. I had bought it to paint my front door but we ended up having to move before I got around to painting it. Such a great color!! We are currently in a rental waiting to see what God has for us. Hopefully one day I’ll get to use it. Great job on the accent wall and great team work with your husband.
Karrie, as you know, using the flat finish covers the imperfections so much better. Using a satin finish will show every flaw that might be on the wall, so good choice. The color is awesome.
