Oh my soul! Your Blimpies story took me back! When I was pregnant with my oldest daughter (22 yrs ago now), I CRAVED Blimpies for my entire 2nd trimester. The sweetest lady worked there and she would always double the meat and pickles "for the baby" 😂😂It was a good memory ❤️

Actually dark does not shrink a space...as an accent wall it adds drama to the room. Only one wall will be done....there is natural light from the windows, patio doors, etc.
To make them more opaque in the back of them, you can buy curtain blackout liners, you will need a super skinny rod for these, but they are so inexpensive at Amazon. You could also double sided tape them onto the existing curtains too

I think you should do a dark accent wall, and I'll tell you why, it's going to open up the room even more.....very dark colors make the wall almost disappear. Also, that throw pillow "color" that you showed us will look beautiful against the peppercorn wall. I think it will look stunning🤗

The curtains are perfect. They bring a warm tone to the inside of your home.
My vote is a light colored accent wall. I think that will keep the space open & won’t distract from the new curtains & blinds. 😍

Love the curtains!! For the wall, I would do the dark accent wall and add a HUGE mirror behind it to add light. I saw someone DIY a big bathroom mirror from Home Depot and add a frame to it. Loved it

If you’re worried about the curtains, use the ‘sheets’ you had there to line them, if you have a sewing machine it’s really simple. I think you should try a dark accent wall, it’s only paint, if you don’t like it you can paint it back.
I think the dark accent wall would give you a great look especially with your new curtains.

I think an accent wall like you did in the bedroom...but in a dark stain to go with the baskets on the opposite wall...and that would look good with the darker blinds...just my prefrence...everything you do looks amazing.
I think a light accent wall to bounce around the light. Your wood colour will also look rich especially after you get the woven blinds. Use black accents for a true modern farmhouse style. Your home is so beautiful 🤩

With your faux brick wall in your living room and your light floors I think a dark wall color would be the way to go. Otherwise it’s not going to pop. A dark barnwood wall would look awesome if that would be in your budget, especially if you are going with the basket color blinds. That wall just really needs a wow factor. Love the remote under cabinet lights❤️
I was like wow that spot on the couch is someone’s favorite with how the pillow was all crunched down then zoey appeared and I was like aww that’s who spot that it my tiny 4 lb pup also has a spot on the top of the couch when he wants a break from the kids

We don't allow out door shoes to be worn inside the house, the children walk around bear feet and play on the floors. I have the same curtains I too found them to be on the see through side, what I did was to but a second pair but them back to back and then hang them they look great.
We used to be strick about shoes in the house but as they have gotten older we don't mind. If our shoes are really dirty I just put them in a basket by the front door and I have lysol to spray them. And that's a good idea with doubling the curtains 😊

curtains, a keeper, accent wall big ole yes, ISSUE...the natural shades will make your room not only warmer, but they will block out more light. so with that in mind i vote for a white for the accent wall, the color of your cabinets, love that white. leaving the walls the original color they are; peppercorn with the darker shades may make it too dark.
I bought curtains for our bedroom and they were perfect but not as thick as I wanted, so I made a liner behind them. It made them work.
