My mother would rearrange our home so often that my dad would just sigh when he came home. I do the same thing, my husband is always asking where things are, or saying where did we get that! It feels so good to see your favorite things in a new light.
Yes! Rearranging feels like having a whole room full of new things. And, my husband is the same. It’s handy that he rarely even notices when I buy something new! 😜
😂 that’s cute. Your dad sighing when he came home. I love it when men allow their wives to just take care of the home with little to no fuss about it. 🥰
I don’t rearrange my furniture but I do decor. We plan on remodeling soon and I have a list of items I want to buy secondhand. So far I have bought two mirrors that are $80 each on Amazon. I gave only $22 for both.
I’ve always done the same thing. My husband finally asked me just not to move the bed so often. I loved it and still love it just not as easy to do it by myself at 72🤣
Thanks for reminding us to use what we have sometimes we forget that we bought something because we loved it and never think to move somewhere else, I loved the video today about 15 ways to update your home, it was a great reminder of all the beautiful decor that I already have and do not have to purchase anything. Thanks for sharing with the world.
Sherry, all of these updates are so very much "you" and help us to see greater potential in what we already have. Watching and listening to your process for making changes is an inspiring tutorial for all of us who want to make our homes better reflect who we are. Thanks again for the time you put into these weekly videos.
I often move furniture around and your so right it makes a room look fresh again and a lick of paint gives a whole new look to a tired piece. Love all you done today Sherry but my favourite this week has to be your adorable little Edgar, I could watch him all day lol. Xxx
Beautiful 😍 I love switching around the furniture and decor in my house. My mother was the same! She also taught 1st grade. From week to week, her students never knew where they'd find their desks 😂❤
I loved the mantle and fireplace area changes the best and the green velvet ribbon did wonders for the lampshades. Rearranging is always so much fun and can literally Cost nothing. A win win combo. Thank u Sherry for all the ideas.😢
Yes!!! Several viewers have mentioned this book. I wish I had thought of that analogy!!! It perfectly describes my decorating process (and probably yours, too)!
This is the "If you give a mouse a cookie" decorating that I swear by! At least, that's what I call it when my daughter notices new thrift and estate sale purchases in my constantly shifting house. If you move one chair, of course you need to change the table... so then you switch lamps, then insert the new bust you found for $2 at the thrift store, lifted by 3 vintage books you picked up for a quarter each at a yard sale! That means you need to swap pictures with the one in the bedroom....😂
What a refreshing video! Your home shows how cared for it is and how comfortable it is for you. Thank you for sharing. Your son's wedding date is getting close....how exciting.
In the past years I was always moving furniture and decor around . I stopped because my family would always tease me and complain so I stopped . Thank you Sherry for reminding me of the joy of reinventing your surroundings again .
I have been carting around an old trunk like yours for 40 years,I use it as an end table.its great for storage! I love your videos! You really are so creative ❤
I enjoyed this so much! I do a lot of what you did and it makes things look new. All I have to do is move something to a different room and like you said it is a domino affect! So satisfying❤
I do the same too, always changing and rearranging and repainting .so refreshing! Sherry you are amazingly creative as always , love your creativity, energy and home ❤️❤️
Yes! I don’t understand people who never move furniture after placing it in a room. Growing up, I rearranged my bedroom in every possible configuration-some of them were awkward, but you never know until you try!
I learned to sew, age 9, with a hot steam iron nearby. All the pieces you make, are crisp and tidy that way. So handy for hemming! (Probably made hundreds of garmets and drapes by this time of my life) Hint: Ironing is actually a shortcut! Thank you so much for your videos. They make me feel warm and fuzzy, and creative! ❤🎉
Thank you so much for the inspiration of just moving things around to achieve a new look. I'm always thinking I don't have this or that, but moving things around makes me feel my decor is fresh again. Sometimes a different perspective is all we need. Thank goodness for your weekly videos.
You are so welcome, Janae! I love to rearrange. When I was growing up, I arranged my bedroom in every possible configuration (and some of them were awkward)! 😜 It really does help you to see what you already have with fresh eyes. Have fun!
I love the changes! Wow! How lucky to score those framed Currier and Ives prints! They look great where you hung them. The grass cloth looks great. The shelves on the side of the fridge - perfect, I love how you arranged them too.
Wow! So many transformations Sherry. Some just by moving around your furniture from one room to another creating totally new looks! And the plate rack being used in the Kitchen/Library I found particularly lovely.
Sherry, you are after my heart. Moving things around surely makes your home look like new. I easily get bored when things remain the same for too long. I have been thrifting a lot lately and have found many great items at great prices. Your home looks so cozy and welcoming. Thanks for the tips.
So inspiring!! I actually had to pause the video a few times to go "fluff" different areas of my home. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with all of us!
Love rearranging my furniture at least twice a year, giving my home a new look not to mention a deep clean. Thanks again for all the tips on best ways to arrange decor and books on shelving, been putting them to use here at home and I'm pleasantly surprising myself with what I've learned from you.
Another wonderful video! I just got a new to me couch. So I have to adjust everything in my living room. Of course, I found that moving one thing requires moving several others. Your video gave me some fresh new ideas. Thanks
@CanterburyCottage It is sad to move and find my decorative covers will not fit switches in my new home. I have not yet, but want to hang a resin one covered in seashells in my coastal bathroom. I just haven't yet found the right shells to cover the holes. I have a couple fun ones--a sink filled with dishes and bubbles, and a laundry one. I think I got them from the catalog by A Touch of Class. I have several handmade wooden ones made from burl I bought from the artist. She stopped making them because she couldn't sell them for enough money to justify her time in making them.
Dear Sherry, what pleasure it must give you to be surrounded by so much beauty. Since I love so many things, the maximalist and eclectic style is right up my alley. As you mention, once you start moving furniture, it does have a domino effect. I am also a great fan of peel and stick wallpaper! It's a great way to change existing furniture and other items. Congratulations on the upcoming wedding. I hope you will share photos once the event has happened. Thank you for sharing your vision with us.
The winter prints are stunning! There's nothing better than having a good shift around of the furniture. I redid my living room a few weeks ago and it has made a huge difference to the look of the space 🙂
My mother would rearrange our home so often that my dad would just sigh when he came home. I do the same thing, my husband is always asking where things are, or saying where did we get that! It feels so good to see your favorite things in a new light.
As always. Loved❤❤❤ you changes.I’m still 😮making changes for summer, oops. Keep on keeping on with great ideas. You are fantastic, thanks again.

My daughter say I move cabinets like most people move vases. So I'm here for it Sherry!
My girls say that I paint the walls so much that its a wonder there is room left to walk into the room from the layers of paint LOL!!!
I’m so glad to know that others rearrange a bunch, too! My family thinks I’m nuts, but some of them haven’t changed anything for years!
@@jennifersetser9091 Funny that you commented today on my five month old comment. I just moved four cabinets the last two days!😄
YAY, it’s Sherry day. ❤
I’ve been doing these things all my adult life! Thanks for letting me know I’m not crazy! Especially rearranging! 😀
Thanks for reminding us to use what we have sometimes we forget that we bought something because we loved it and never think to move somewhere else, I loved the video today about 15 ways to update your home, it was a great reminder of all the beautiful decor that I already have and do not have to purchase anything. You are the QUEEN of thrift and decorate!! I bow down to you ;0)
Ваш дом очень красивый и стильный, хочется ходить и рассматривать в нëм каждый сантиметр, у вас прекрасный эстетический вкус! 💜
This video is like a warm cup of cocoa... I love your decor and creativity ❤😊

Love all you done today Sherry but my favourite this week has to be your adorable little Edgar, I could watch him all day lol. Xxx
Oh, thank you, Sally! He carries that stuffed rabbit around all the time which I think is so cute.
@@CanterburyCottage awww. I love Edgar too!
I’m sorry, but I just didn’t want this video to end… I am amazed with your home and decor and thoroughly enjoyed myself!!! 😂😂❤❤
Beautiful 😍 I love switching around the furniture and decor in my house. My mother was the same! She also taught 1st grade. From week to week, her students never knew where they'd find their desks 😂❤
Thank you, Robin! I rearranged my classroom frequently, too-half of the kids would be excited for something new and half would complain!
As a classroom grandparent, it messes up trying to remember names. When you have nearly a hundred students in four classes. . . 😮
Ha! Too funny! 😂
I love to do that myself...moving and swapping things. Your refresh was lovely.
Sherry I just LOVE your home! Thank you for always sharing your ideas.
You are so welcome! Thank you, Donna!
I loved the mantle and fireplace area changes the best and the green velvet ribbon did wonders for the lampshades. Rearranging is always so much fun and can literally Cost nothing. A win win combo. Thank u Sherry for all the ideas.😢
Great ideas! Love the architectural piece with the wreath!
Oh, thank you, Barb!😊
I'm with your mother. I move things all the time 🎉🎉

Thank you so much, Gloria! It is still hot here, but I’m in the mood for autumn, so I’m just going to pretend until it actually gets here!😜
Edgar is so cute! I don’t know how u have time or the desire to rearrange your house so much! It’s lovely.
Thank you, Kelley! 😊
“If you give a mouse a cookie”: if you know, you know. Beautiful done. Looking to do some changes for fall. Thanks for the inspiration.

You are so RIGHT! I wish I had thought of that book-it is the perfect analogy for how I decorate, too!!! (I may have to use this in a post!)
Very nice refreshing…looks great. Edgar was a good helper today.😊
Thank you, Lanet! Edgar is very good at carrying things around in his mouth-especially stuffed animals and shoes!
I am amazed and entertained and inspired every time I watch!
You are so creative. I love watching you decorate your home so beautifully.
Brilliant, as usual!❤❤❤❤❤❤

All the changes are beautiful.
Oh, thank you, Creta!
These are all so beautiful. Easy to move things around, add paint, a new space for a painting... fabulous ideas!
I honestly think that you are the most creative person on youtube! As always...unbelievably clever content.

So many refreshing ideas. That oil painting of the forest with the little shack is my favorite piece of decor Sherri owns.

Your childlike excitement and enthusiasm are so inspiring to me!!!❤❤❤
Thank you so much for bringing us along with you while you redecorated your lovely home. It gives me ideas for my home.

Oh, thank you! I was so glad to have a place for those dried sunflowers-they have been in a drawer for almost a year!

Nice redos. You have such good ideas and are so energetic. At 74, I can't move furniture any more but I use to. Love your style.

You inspired me to get some projects done last week, and now here you go again. Thanks!
Left to our devices, it is totally liberating! Yeah ❤

I rearrange so often, my husband has taken to saying, "Yay, a new house today," lol.
How exciting for Nick and Amaya! Congratulations!

Your house is a comforting book come to life ❤
I have a very small apartment with nary a space to display anything, but I really enjoy seeing your home and how you decorate it.
Wow, it all looks so awesome.
Love your updates! Of course, everything looks fantastic!
Sherry, your talent is amazing.
