- During the three years I’ve been on RUclips, I have been too embarrassed to show our primary bathroom in videos. Although I made a number of small updates over the years, it remained the ugliest room in our home. So, we finally committed to a down to the studs renovation! The room makeover is dramatic! We took our outdated and unattractive bathroom and turned it into a beautiful, functional space full of vintage charm and lots of thrift stores finds! It is an amazing bathroom transformation. I can’t wait for you to see the before and after!

The tile job in my bathroom that was cracked and deteriorating was clearly the previous owners DIY project! It is definitely worth hiring a professional if you want something done well! I sure wish more young people were going into the trades!

@CanterburyCottage Opening the door for the final reveal took my breath away for that vanity, tub and those brick walls. All the added touches were uniquely you. The way you flow, it all comes together, beautifully.
For the architecture salvage piece, how about using some dark wax to bring out the details without changing the colors???

The floor pattern is just classic, and the soffit removal was a huge improvement! My favorite area is just outside the bathroom, where your adorned the newly-revealed brick wall with a mirror and a bench.
Oh, thank you, Gina! I was actually in a thrift/antique store and saw that bench when I used the store restroom. They hadn’t priced or put it out yet, but I asked and they sold it to me. I was so happy when it fit in that spot!

Love that you left the brick exposed, what a fun discovery for you! Bathrooms are so pricey to remodel, especially if you move plumbing as you did. I love that you went for it and didn’t scrimp on what you really wanted. The tile floor is perfect in the space. As usual, good job girl!

Hi Sherry. I wouldn't have labeled your bathroom an "ugly duckling". It is filled with your unique charm. However, that makeover - well, it's pretty friggin' amazing! Just love it. I especially love that towel rack and I'm so glad you kept the exposed brick.

It's amazing that ,even with the tub, the new bathroom still looks more roomy than before! It's absolutely beautiful,Sherry, as is all of your work. I love the chandelier above that claw foot tub, the vignette above the toilet and that architectural piece you turned into a towel hanger. 😍😍😍 I think you made a great choice in keeping that brick and moving the faux fireplace in that spot.

Thank you! For some reason, I thought the chimney would be a metal surround. It never occurred to me that we would find brick. The positive of finding brick outweighed the negative of also finding water damage!

How serendipitous that under the drywall was that gorgeous brick!!! Usually opening walls is associated with finding expensive bad news but you hit the reno lottery!!!! Your bathroom is now a calming beautiful space to unwind after working so hard to bring us consistent quality content and you deserve it after waiting for so long!
Edit: your videos introduced me to William Morris prints and I found 3 prints one with a fox (our last name so I have a lot of collectibles I have accumulated over our 28 years of marriage), one print with a bunny and one with a deer all on the same peacock pattern! The bunny and deer are going in my bedroom and bathroom and the fox in my living room with my other vintage fox prints! I can’t believe I didn’t know who William Morris was and his stunning prints and patterns! Now that I do, I am going to add that same pattern as backing on my built in bookcases flanking my fireplace!
