Great to see so many frogs in their native habitat. Certainly helps to understand their needs better. I love frogs and keep several species from various locals. The Amazon Milk frog is also very beautiful and has beautiful blue toes. Happy helping 🐸
This is one of my favorites of your videos. Superb camerawork, great storytelling. Each shot was perfect. Got to meet some new frogs and toads! So cool that the fluorescent paper came out right after filming! (Wait, did one of the scientists at the center tip you off?) Thank you for showing us these amazing tiny creatures! ❤
What’s crazy is like around 09:55 look at the isopod in the log, or the ants crawling around… that’s good size indicator of these tiny frogs, crazy. I never knew there were frogs that small other than the dart frog species.
Great video! I really enjoy how you edited this video and how informative it is. Very inspiring to get out into the world and see the beauty firsthand! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us!
Dig that new intro, nice. Those dapsilis, common, but so cool looking. Margs also sweet looking, see why you like them. Ok, the fringe wins. Great vid. Need to get down there.
Dāv, you seriously have the BEST reptile channel on RUclips. I have to say all I read about is people complaining about all the bad reptile videos out there, but no one praises the good ones, or even talks about them so I'm sharing your videos every chance I get! Keep 'em coming!
It'd be interesting to see if there is a difference in abundance between then and now! I know @clints reptiles went there recently, so maybe he noticed?
Unfortunately you missed this episode because RUclips is screwing around with its algorithms and not alerting subscribers, nor suggesting videos. We upload every Friday, so please check back weekly to make sure you're seeing what we post. Thanks!
Hi Dav. I loved this. I'm in a wheelchair so couldn't go there. Do you know how I could sponsor and maybe become pen pal/ encourager to a young herpatological student to get the chance to do something like this? I'm also looking into keeping frogs or toads
If you’ve found a way to sponsor a herpetology student, let me know! That’s something I’d be interested in doing in the future as well. My autoimmune condition is triggered by heat, so this is out of the question for me as well.
@@kellybraun7048 Have you considered sponsoring and tracking a turtle through the organisation Fahlo. You get a bracelet with a turtle on it plus a postcard with the animals details on it and a QR code so you can track your animal with the scientists responsible for it and get some further info.
@@lizdyson3627 I have. There’s a couple different conservation projects that include tracking info on specific animals. Have to get my ducks in a row, but that’s definitely in my future plans.
Dav, do you know of a nocturnal Peruvian frog who's call sounds like "Wow!" I've been trying to identify it for a couple of years. It lives in the rainforest West of Iquitos.

I am jealous that you got to see wild Atelopus! I work with Zeteki in captivity so Atelopus are on my wish list to see in the wild
We only saw the one. Unfortunately they used to be very common.
