*NEW UPDATE 04/05* : so they just emailed me back and sent me a replacement item. Still not sure how I feel overall...
*UPDATE 03/10* : soooo they basically ghosted me and never sent a replacement of the stained damaged item 🤷🏼‍♀ apparently other people are experiencing issues with their mystery boxes as well (not receiving them and not getting any replies) so I don't think I personally recommend it because of all of that. I really loved the shop, but after this and just them not replying to to people idk...

Hey! You could try switching the bottom button to the top (since most people don’t see the bottom button and won’t notice if it’s different as easily, and you tuck everything in anyway). that way you could still see the top velvet button and get the vibe. As for stains, you could try soaking in sodium carbonate to clean. I find it gets out tough stains really well.

    • @sues1446

You could also use the one velvet button from the sleeves on the top and have a matching new set of simple black buttons on the sleeves.

The last sweater kind of gives off the illusion of a deconstructed top without the actual trouble of having strings or too many layers on. It suits you well and def has a lot of potential for futuristic looks.

I thought the 90s cashmere sweater looked the best on you! The pattern made your waist look so snatched.
So with the silk blouse. Remove one of the velvet buttons from the cuff (I think each cuff had 2?) Then remove the uncovered button from the other cuff. Use the velvet button to replace the button missing from the button placket on the shirt closure, and then replace the two you took from the cuffs with a matching set of black buttons OR maybe a fun statement button on each cuff. Even with sourcing 2 additional buttons, this would not even take you 10 minutes. You can try removing the stain on it with 2 tablespoons of white vinegar mixed with 2 tablespoons of lukewarm water and dabbing the stain (do not rub.)
I think the box is a good value b/c the quality of the items were good. Cashmere, velvet, silk. Minor repair in vintage clothing is to be expected and doesn't detract from the value of the box. 62÷5 is 12.40 per item which is a steal for legitimate vintage pieces! We all see how Thrift prices are rising these days right?

I know I mentioned in one of your previous videos about Dryel, an at-home dry cleaning kit, but I just wanted to mention that in the kit, you also get a stain remover pen. That's helped me so much for smaller stains that I couldn't get out in the wash alone.

I’m wondering if the black and white button up with the odd collar is supposed to be worn with the buttons in the back. I showed my aunt and she said those types of collars are supposed to drape in the front and the back buttons were really popular in the late 80s/early 90s.

Maybe for the blue short sleeve button up you can tie the front two pieces together to make a knot and leave the back untucked? That’s what I usually do with my “summer” button ups and it works, as long as it isn’t too cropped when tied🤍

Hi Alexa love your uploads. I checked their website and they said that everything has to pass high quality inspections. So to be honest the one garment missing buttons and stains was disappointing. I think it wouldn’t be out of line to contact them about that particular garment it was very pretty. Yes vintage items do have slight imperfections but this was more than slight. I do agree with several of the other seasoned thrifters and resellers below Because we come across beautiful items very very often a lot of times we might be underwhelmed. Perhaps this type box would be for those who don’t come across unique items all the time. I think it could be interesting to give it another go and the price did seem reasonable for the amount of items you did get! You looked beautiful and everything especially that gorgeous Cashmere Sweater. Have a beautiful day!!

Me muero. 🥺 Pero igual soy fan de los vídeos de thrifting. 🤪

😱 I lurv the geometric sweater. It's so unique. Everyone has their own taste though. Honestly, all of the pieces are wins to me. For the shirt with imperfections, I would use the velvet-covered button on the collar and get two matching buttons for the wrists. Hope you can get the mark out - definitely paying attention to the fact that it's silk. Other than style factors, silk and cashmere are amazing, so I would say the box is worth it monetarily too.

I actually liked the sweater because I like geometric prints. I had a similar situation where a button on the sleeve was replaced and the buttons in the front came off immediately. • @cyberdemondev

Overall, I definitely agreed with you that while the items are nice because of how specific you could be in the little questionnaire, it’s sort of common sense to either have the brand fix the imperfections before selling OR having an option to check that says you’re okay with receiving items that may have slight imperfections. And I see what you’re saying with some of the items not necessarily being your personal style, though, they did a much better job curating the items for you than other expensive mystery box brands have in the past which is kind of exciting. Like I might actually try this mystery box in the future!

Okay perhaps an unpopular opinion/overthinking here but it kind of seems like these style bundles/mystery boxes aren't as impressive to people who thrift often. For me personally, I didn't love any of the pieces besides the sweater vest, and I think part of that could be from seeing SO many different clothing pieces at the thrift and being highly selective with my own purchases.
Thinking back to when I had TikTok, I'd watch style bundle videos and the comments would be full of praise and disbelief of the bundle prices (saying they were an insanely great deal!) And I'd just kind of be thinking... It's not bad but I could find all that at the thrift and better for a cheaper price. This isn't a dig to those shops; they almost always charge a fair price and do find some cool things! I just think thrifting has made me harder to please since I know my exact style and what's out there.
Anyways I loved watching this video and it would be cool to see if you give it another chance!

You could try putting a sweater vest over the geometric patterned sweater, since it’s comfy but the pattern isn’t your favorite.

@@alexasunshine83 love your honesty and openness as well as seeing it from their side that some of the things you wanted weren’t represented on your Pinterest board. But no excuse really for the trifecta of imperfections on that top 😓 used to sell vintage myself and that’s just sloppy 😟

I actually looove the sweater. It looks more 60s to me like almost mod if paired with a mini skirt or with pleated trousers for more early 60s. Maybe it leans more 50s too to them?
