I can remember when in my 20s i had a 928S with a 3 inch exhaust to a 4 inch tip. Sounded fantastic but a little too loud as it used to set off car alarms when i drove past.
Great work and well fabricated. A sensible addition. But Why in the hell would you leave the rest of that hot dog abomination on what you keep saying is a completely original car ?
I looked at a 928 S4 just 75k miles as it was local. 90% lovely car. But. The battery was draining (maybe new battery maybe grounding issue) and didn’t rev freely (maybe air mix issue maybe just not driven enough). So I’ve walked on.
Yes. Milltek and others already make an Active Exhaust for EVs, using a real stainless muffler to create actual sounds outside the car. Just talks to the CANBUS to get throttle position, power, etc. Very convincing. Already used on cars like the Audi SQ7 I believe to enhance the audio outside the car. I think one would be essential on my planned electric 928.
@@inCARnationAustralia I installed the same one on my 1983 928 Euro yesterday, but after a 2 mile test drive, the exhaust tips were smoking and smelled like plastic burning. pulled it back off today. might find a different solution.
Stu, Matt is a top bloke, thanks for putting me on to him. Your 928 sounds like it looks now. Love the colour and that it's a manual! Cheers Steve

18:31 to 18:38 and the smile after is the main reason I will never sell my 928.

Nicely done

do you mind me asking, how much were they asking for?
£18,5k I think
Posiblemente un problema de caudalimetro, sulen fallar, tengo un S4 Manual del 89 y se reparo, ahora va perfecto.
Great job!
Matt is sharp and hot, like the 928
Sorry Stu but you should have also removed those hot dogs and had it sounding a like a real 928. It could sound better.
Still an option to do that. But I think it's loud enough now.
I have the same. After a couple of years the butterfly will have corroded away.
Yes I saw not everybody is glowing with their praise of the device. Oh well.
Brilliant! Can he do one for my Tesla?

Did you muffler smoke and smell like something burning after the install? If so, how long did it last.
Nope, not at all

Still too quiet, sounds nothing like a 928 and the tips protrude too far out.
