You just reminded me that I need to clear the clean laundry out of the hamper and the dirty laundry off of my unpacked boxes into the hamper 😮💨 The restock grind never ends 😆
YES! I remember growing up poor we used to keep old products for honestly way too long but it's bc we didn't get new things often and it was looked at as "trashy" but these creators are literally doing the same thing??? they just never use the products 🙃
also i have the deepest urge to start a satirical restocking cleaning channel where “restock my closet!” is just, doing laundry, “restock my dishes with me!” is just,,, doing dishes, but i cannot bring myself to actually participate in tiktok
that is still closer to restock actual meaning than these overconsumption videos or hype consumption videos. I don't have tiktok app anymore. I just watch youtubers make videos reacting to the dystopia and de-influencing me. it isn't the same app anymore. it's wild.
When ever I see these restocking food or personal care products I question 'how much of this will expire before it needs to be thown away before its used or opened?'
@@newcamomile I was thinking that too, optimist that I am, I really hope the intentions is that both those households have adoptive/foster kids and they keep it overly stocked so the kids don’t feel like they are “taking”. I hear the effects of food scarcity can follow well into adulthood. Also individual packets can be taken to rooms and hidden under beds etc with less chance of spoiling.
if you’re talking about the first tiktok, no, they don’t! alicia dougherty or however tf you spell it feeds all her kids GARBAGE. what makes it even worse is that she’s admitted online that a lot of those kids were adopted and have fetal alcohol syndrome. because of this, she said, these kids are easily addicted to dairy, carbs, and sugar so it’s not good for them to eat it
I often wonder if people see my shopping and think the same but we have an epic fruit & veggie garden at home so I almost never buy veggies or fruits these days.
@@amandaterangihaeata5234 unfortunately, these restock people show their kinds only consuming junk food. I've yet to see one who does. And victory gardens are where it's at, as well
r/perfume is absolutely another example of horrific normalization of overconsumption. It almost got me sucked in. Then I found your videos and I was snapped awake. Thanks for all you do!
@@ghoulchan7525 yup! People post their collections that literally look like perfume stores, hype up other collectors, encourage toxic relationship dynamics, lying, and justify some of the craziest behavior I’ve ever seen (hiding purchases from spouses, etc) all over some scented alcohol. There was a thread asking if anyone wears fragrances to bed and I was thinking who tf is going to say yes to that. I opened the thread and there were HUNDREDS of people saying they wear multiple fragrances/body sprays to bed. I was flabbergasted lmao

The kajillion teeny TicTac packets are what are flummoxing me. It’s not like the original boxes are ginormous, especially if one is lugging around half a pharmacy on their shoulder!
@Somebodyelse141 Still 11 kids tho. I can't even imagine what would be normal for that situation so I have a lot less to say about them. Like... Yeah I'd be minimizing cooking too if I had Eleven (!!) 😂
Whoah. As someone who's watched far too many episodes of Hoarders, I can confidently say that these are all just Hoarders who are clean and extremely organized. However, it just looks like organized hoards to me. Especially since we all know that skincare, bath and beauty products EXPIRE, also makeup. So like... Who's really gonna use all that stuff before it goes bad? Will it just be thrown out in another declutter then hoad phase? I think they need to expand the definition of this mental illness to include these ppl. Excellent work as always 👏 Love your coverage. I refuse to actually watch TikTok or have the app so I super appreciate all the content creators who suffer and curate for me. ❤
It's definitely not. A lot of it was even kirklands brand which is costco. I too do stock up on food for my kids because we do live over an hour away from a sams and a Costco so I get why having my own "store" like pantry is incredibly convenient and I save gas money but this was mainly perishables. I have personally gone and filled baskets with food and meats and haven't even hit 1000 dollars. That was fairly recent too. I just don't believe this is even close to 7000. Unless there's a lot more we aren't seeing.
That declutter-to-restock the closet video reminds me of that part in the hunger games where the ppl from the capital were taking puking capsules to continue eating food during the party🤦♂️ so dystopian…..
Not sure if you have seen on tiktok but I would LOVE your thoughts on the current underconsumption trend and the subsequent pushback. I have found it so refreshing seeing “normal” makeup collections of 10 ish products but I’m seeing overconsumption being pushed back as “it’s my money why shouldn’t I spend it?” and “don’t let this make you feel bad girlies!” Would love a video on this. Love this video as usual❤
In future post apocalyptic movies and series the smart survivors don't get their supplies from the usual places. They know to check closets in houses. 😅
I'm trying to overcome a shopping addiction, and your videos have helped me. Every time I have the compulsion to "stock up" on BS I don't need, I imagine you just looking disappointed and shaking your head slightly.
No way I'd be putting out butt wipes, that's just inviting the plumber to make a visit because I don't care what it says on the label they are NOT flushable!
The deodorising toilet bowl bombs sound great though… if only the blokes would use them. 😂 The sprays are good though, and come in less girlie packaging.
@@maireadnic8280 if a man cares what cleaning products come packaged in, they are seriously insecure in their own masculinity. Real men use "girly" packaging and dgaf.
To me, "restock" means "replacing consumable things that were used up." I don't necessarily need some of my skincare or body products, but those are things I used up. Even if your clothes get worn out, you aren't "restocking," you're replacing things on an individual basis
My mom always told me that before you buy a "cute" clothing item, you need to think of 5 items you already have that you can pair it with. If you can't then you probably won't reach for it.
I grew up with food insecurity and get stressed when I have too much in the house because I fear it going bad. I get so sad having to throw away food. I just have a hard time believing all this stuff gets consumed and doesn’t end up wasted in a landfill 😢
@@newcamomile so what? It's still a considerable amount of children to take care of... I can totally understand why it may feel anxious for someone 🤷♀️
The Dougherty dozen family is so problematic, well really it’s the mom. She buys TONS of snacks and plastic water bottles, gatorades, etc. she will buy 6 carts worth of food and maybe 1 of the carts is whole foods and vegetables. The kids each have their own mini fridge that she also restocks weekly, and she rages baits every time putting garbage food in there. There’s lots to get into with her videos.
Also shes only using single use stuff. Single use plates, cutlery, cups etc. Because they are too poor to fix their septic tank. Because they are overconsuming so much.
It's the lunches that I have to immediately click away from. The shit that she throws in those boxes and the same portions for the smallest and oldest. Absolute bull shittery of the highest order.
@@shawnaripari that was my main reason to share. Although single-use plastic is to be avoided, I see a lot of shame towards people (especially disabled) who have to use it. I'm quite low needs myself, but it's important not to be ableist during these discussions.
@@mc.2737 I try! I'm low needs, so I have to educate myself on many things (single-use plastic straws, for example) not to be ableist. And during that, I found some things that help me a lot too!
Thank you for sharing. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and use a few single use items in the kitchen on really bad days when washing up is beyond me. Many of these are recyclable luckily.
Let's call it what it is: abundance porn. "Look at me! I can afford $7k on groceries!". With so many people struggling to afford groceries, having THIS MUCH food is a signal of wealth. But it's also content designed to be able to cleverly write off the family's entire food budget as a business expense. Because if you show it on camera like this, that's deductible against their income. I have got to give them some credit, because that's definitely a finance hack.
girl i'm trying to manage my expenses and use all collection that i have before buying new product unless i'm all out of it and ur videos really keep me on track with that
I think I prefer the 70s version of the "candy salad" ie 20 cents worth of miscellaneous candy of your own choosing in a little white paper bag from the friendly corner store. Aww - nostalgia!
Popping in to share that the first creator with 11 kids? …has to do laundry at the laundromat and her kids frequently have to shower at a local gym because their septic system is crap (even though for 2 yrs running she’s spent 40,000 a pop on Christmas gifts and trips). Also her family exclusively use disposable and utensils because of that pesky little septic problem. Also also her children DO NOT eat the foods she prepares for content. Which is why they have an actual dumpster in their driveway, for all the waste she creates. Alicia Dougherty is a menace to the environment. You could honestly do an entire video on just her, bestie.
Her septic system is crap because they have too many people for it. There is a limit of how many people you can have on whatever sized septic system. They can only handle so much water/ waste per day.
About the 'candy salad' thing. Yes it incredibly wasteful, especially for a household with only two adults in it. I sincerely doubt they are finishing that whole bowl. However, I have done something like this before for a Halloween party. You mix it all together in a large bowl and you supply a scoop and the kids get to scoop some for themselves. Often into like little bags or small mason jars. It's a really fun event for a party. I would never leave that lying in the open air of my house though. The sheer amount of dust and animal dander it would attract 🤢 Maybe for a group movie night, but then you either need to supply a scoop or assume that everyone is washing their hands 😓🙄 and maybe I'm the untrustworthy one here but I don't think so.
I will say that I occasionally buy the travel makeup wipes but not for my face. I use them to wipe my hands if I've been switching things in shops tbh, because the shops here don't really offer anything to clean your hands with and it is very annoying to swatch, say, a red lipstick and have no way to get it off your hand. Edit: also I can't believe tiktok bougiefied pick 'n' mix by calling it "candy salad".
I’ve never been so happy to have misophonia, the tap tap tap, scrunch scrunch scrunch, leave me feeling violently ill 🤢. Every one of those restocks gets skipped in a heartbeat.
I honestly don't understand how people can watch any kind of restocking videos, genuine or not. The aggressive tapping, throwing, and dumping you pointed out irritates me to the max, especially since the videos I've seen move so fast! Overstimulation at its finest, imo. Also, I just found your channel this month, and you've already changed my shopping habits for the better. The "oh, it's cheap so it doesn't matter if I don't keep it forever" used to be my biggest weakness, but the other day I did a thrifting marathon and came home with nothing. It was the greatest feeling in the world! I enjoyed looking at all the things, but also recognized that I didn't "need" to buy anything. Thank you! I didn't know I needed you until I found you, lol.
Definitely not healthy for those 11 kids to be eating tons of highly processed snacks enough to where the parents have to buy THIS MUCH on a weekly or bi-weekly basis 😭
I saw an image of how food purchasing has changed over the decades. It showed the percent of ingredients vs convenience/premade foods. It’s shocking how few ingredients you see in some people’s shopping. I like my chips as much as the next person, but you can’t live on it.
She never shows her kids eating anything healthy. Now many I missed all the veg, but I see more Mac and cheese and Doritos in that house than my ex fiance ate playing league of legends
They gotta buy so much because those foods aren’t filling! The kids eat and eat and eat them and they still feel hungry because they’re snack foods with zero nutritional value. They’re designed that way 😩 it’s such an awful trap to fall into and these parents are stuck in it. Buy some snacks with protein and fiber at least.
Many of those items aren't even stock or prepping worthy. I can see some canned goods or certain packaged items that can last for two years (3 years max). The prepping videos I had seen all say the same thing... buy items you are using and restock when needed, but always use the items as you are prepping. You never let the stuff go to waste.
yes! as a german the ammount of plastic is crazy!! we have unpackaged veggies here and stores where you can fill up your reusable containers with noodles, flour etc. crazy to see americas plastic consumation.
I so wish there were more places like that in the US - my intention this year was to build container gardens for veggies, but my health has been not the greatest (plus, it doesn't help that my husband & I help care for my grandfather and if my parents need us, I'm there for them , too. Honestly, I feel like I'm constantly just taking care of one of us 😂. My mom & I both failed completely on the gardening this year, and she's the one who ALWAYS does it - we were just going to split up who grew which veggies this time.)
The Dougherty mother feeds her children nothing but sugar, candy, and snacks. One of her kids has a mini fridge in the bedroom filled with hershey bars, and other has a mini fridge full of sour patch kids. It's really bad.
I've been loving your content! It's been encouraging me to consume a lot more thoughtfully (both media wise and shopping). I also so appreciate your tone! You're so engaging yet calming too 😊
I know everyone is a little different and some folks love the tapping and crinkling and others don't! I'm impartial but I hate it when they rub the packaging it grosses me out for some reason and i'm not entirely sure why 😅
@@shawnaripari I think it's just very... performative, maybe? That's the closest word I can come up with. No non-influencer is weirdly fondling their bag of baby spinach leaves or whatever as they restock their fridge.

The several packs of gum in the purse restock was crazy to me. I chew gum at least a couple times per week and still only have to buy a new pack like once per month. And when I do run out, I just grab a pack when I’m at the gas station or grocery store or something. You don’t need a whole surplus of gum packs sitting around 😑
the fact that she “needs” gum, and tic tacs, and listerine strips, and mini toothbrushes… I’m like girl, what are you eating when you’re out and about?
When she clears out her pantry she throws out trash bags worth of stuff. So I believe it would be insanely expensive to feed a family that size, but she’s also wasting thousands of dollars a year.
Haha my snacks for the week are a small tub of ice cream and maybe a bag of chips! Snacks r expensive yall. I would rather deep fry my own tortillas for homemade “chips” at this point lol
I bake my tortilla chips in the oven, with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a blend of spices. We don’t have an airfryer in our house, tbh anything that can be deep fried or air fried can be baked in the oven instead. I make really delicious jam filled donuts, that I bake in the oven!
36:41 And here I thought I felt bad buying six body mists in Bath and Body Works Buy 3 Get 3 lol. I usually do this once every couple of years, but all the mists are getting used lol.
@@JustMe_Jessi I think sales like that are good when stores wanna move products quickly. However much like with everything else you need to have moderation. Like I know that lady probably goes to every other sale, meanwhile you and I are like "This is the year I get to go to bath and body works!"
I'm on a No Buy July and have found videos like yours helpful in encouraging me over the past few months to use up what I have and not be influenced to buy backups. I went on tiktok for less than 5 minutes and never returned 😄 I can't imagine what it is like for people being bombarded with so much on top of tiktok shop which removes the barriers from instant impulse buys.
"its not a big deal, its just a candy salad" is either what you say right before the peasants get out the guillotine or while you're sitting in the dentist's chair wondering why you're back there for the fourth time that year...and its only march. I can't decide which is funnier, so you fellas get both.
The amount of junk food, soft drinks and bottled water in the first video is absolutely ridiculous. Like I get that 11 kids is a lot of mouths to feed but this huge stockpile of individually wrapped junk food is so unnecessary.
These hoards are evidence of shopping addiction. The addicts get a dopamine hit from getting something new, which quickly fades. On to the next new thing! The boring reality of using these things and storing these things gives no dopamine. So those go on the back burner. Buy, buy, buy. Repeat. Until you go broke. It’s upsetting. I feel sorry for them.
This is massive overconsumption.. grew up in a house with 11 kids and we had a normal sized pantry. That much "snack food" would make those kids sick. It's irresponsible.
💜 On the subject of Funko Pops; would you ever be willing to do a video on overconsumption and hyperconsumerism in fandom spaces? Most fandoms have a collecting aspect to them, and there's a very 'Keeping Up With the Jones'' mentality when it comes to having fandom merch. There's also the attitude of 'you're not a real fan unless you have this piece of merch, or this exclusive edition, etc, etc' that I've seen. And it's often self-imposed, with people saying things like "well what kind of [character] fan would I be if I didn't have [item involving that character]?". I've fallen for that trap myself, and I have to actively stop myself from falling into that mindset again. It doesn't help that with things like comic books, you have to continually purchase the medium. And there's things like variant covers, meaning people are even more pressured to collect and buy more than they really need to for the sake of their collection. And even though trade paper backs exist, there's the FOMO that comes from not reading a book month to month, so many people collect the single issues AND the trades. Yeah, it's a lot. And sadly it's not really talked about, even among creators who otherwise critique this kind of stuff.
oh my god yes, I'm a kpop fan and I find myself buying way too many albums. I try to limit myself to only my favorite groups and only albums I actually love, but the pressure or influence to buy more albums is a lot
These people have to be like me and have mental health disorders. This is not normal. The woman in her garage … ugh stockpiling is one of my compulsion’s. This isn’t enjoyable for me to need 4 of everything like shampoo in the closet, and when I use one i HAVE TO replace it and have 4 at all times. (I do use the oldest one first and add the new one to the back) and it does truly end up getting used. But It’s miserable and irrational. I’m working really hard to break this, I have 3 dry shampoos and 2 tooth paste only and I have not yet replaced it to make 4. I do have 4 body wash, 4 shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, shaving cream, etc. Should not be encouraged. Exposure therapy! I got this 💪🏻💜🤞🏻🙏🏻 my niece called it some it girl math. And I was like WHAT they have a trendy name for stockpiling oh we are doomed….
So much of that food is unhealthy. You can buy a 10lb bag of beans for $3-$5!. That'll last a family of 3 for over a month. 60 pack of eggs is $17. It lasts us a month. She can save so much money if she shopped smarter, and homemade, unprocessed food is so much healthier.
Family of 3 and large family is a world of a difference. Just two teen boys will empty a fridge of food in a day during a growth spurt and easily when active in sports. Family of 3 usually means 2 full time employed adults (who dont need many calories) and one other person. So having 11 kids, especially many active growing boys, could be like feeding 6 families of three. Many kids do lots of sports, and that could mean they will use up to 10k calories per day (especilly swimmers etc). If it is snacks, it would mean lots of volume to store. ----- Edit: Another thing working around a sports schedule means that often there simply is no time to cook at home between trainings. Packaged food can be completely appropriate for such situations.
@barbarakastelic3406 all I heard was excuses. You can meal prep and get the kids involved. It doesn't take long. I grew up with 3 siblings with our mother making less than $10k per year. She made it work. Anyone can. The only thing stopping anyone from eating clean and healthy is their excuses. We all had our own extracurricular activities as well. Edit: we're a single income family because we want to be and found a way. We chose it and didn't make excuses. We spend less now than when we did when we were eating the over-processed stuff. Food prep a few minutes a day is easy.
That closet restock bothers me so much. The way that she’s talking about the clothes is so understated. Like she’s saying that she loves them, but I don’t really feel like she has a lot to say about what she actually likes about them. Hell, the first thing that she put on she said herself that she didn’t know where she was gonna wear it or what she was gonna wear it with, she just got it because it was cute, and on the spot just came up with ‘probably just around the house with some sweats’. Like, I have little room to really talk about this. I have a problem of obtaining clothing because I really like how it looks, with little thought about how I would actually style it, where I would wear it, what I would wear it with. I simply buy stuff because I think it’s really cute or really cool looking (and actually I have been working a lot on that thanks to your videos. They’ve really changed how I buy stuff and how I look at the potential of buying stuff. I’ve hardly bought anything lately that falls into the nonessential category. There are still things, of course that I am really passionate about and I love that I make exceptions for. But I’ve been doing so much better with changing the way I think about shopping since watching your videos.) that aside what I was basically saying was while I have little room to talk about the closet restock. I feel I still have some space to have an opinion because I’ve never cycled through clothing like this creator. I do often get rid of stuff, it’s probably an OCD thing. I’m so obsessed with decluttering that I will try to get rid of stuff in my closet and around my apartment somewhat frequently. But the majority of stuff that I do get rid of, I at least got wear out of it and I held onto for quite a while unless it just didn’t really work out in the first place and I couldn’t return it (but that doesn’t happen that often anymore). Most of the things in my closet I have had for many many years. And I wear often, I genuinely really like everything that I have in my wardrobe. And with the closet restock video, I just didn’t really feel like she really liked anything to a genuine degree especially if she just got rid of those things in her next declutter video. She’s just buying an obtaining clothing for the sake of buying and obtaining clothing.
the closet restock video bothered me for many of the reasons you said as well. It is ok to buy more than basic necessities, I talked about doing this myself in a recent video. However, those purchases should be considered to a degree. Like you said, having some idea of where you might where the thing or considering how often you might wear it. Buying something you know will have a limited shelf life is different than being in a dopamine roller coaster hauling clothes because you're buying and decluttering stuff on a regular basis. That aside, I'm glad I've had a positive impact on your shopping habits!
The sounds of asmr on these videos where they tap everything drives me crazy. I guess I’m lucky that I hate it since it means I won’t watch these overconsumption style videos 😅
Aughhh that's so unsanitary to just take out all of those Colgate Wisps like that. I'm squirming. And putting that guest bathroom stuff on top of the toilet? 🤢
If these people were cooking their own meal prep type foods and individually packaging them, I'd be impressed. Like, I've seen videos where people meal prep breakfasts, for example. And they make pancakes and freeze them or individually wrapped/container breakfast sandwiches. I get it, lots of people have busy schedules or families where everyone is coming & going at different times and they need individual servings. But it's possible to do it yourself! That's far more aspirational, IMO.
I’m slowly starting to experiment with making my own t-shirts and underwear-especially since I upcycle the fabric I use for the “practice” stage. I can never find t-shirts and undies that fit the way I want, but have found FREE patterns online that do. I’m hoping I can keep it up so I’ll stop buying things that I’m disappointed in.
Plastic is absolutely essential for many disabled people. The plastic items that help me live are not "gross". You're not an anarchist if you're throwing disabled people under the bus.
@@newcamomile I don't understand your comment. Can you give me an example of single use plastic that is essential for you? I'm also disabled and didn't try to hurt you, I just care more about the entire ecosystem than individual people. But I am always open to learning new things
A lot of medical supplies are single use plastics because they can’t be safely made reusable/sterilisable. Like, a bandaid is also single-use plastic. I work in basic research and the amount of pipette tips and culturing flasks etc we go through on a daily is wild…but we also do reuse what is possible. You know, I too am against the unnecessary use of single-use plastic products, especially excessive packaging, but let’s not forget distinction. Some of these products are absolutely necessary.
My mum turned my room into an over-consumption hoarder den. It was wild. When she passed, it was awful having to go through everything and try to sell it. Be mindful of what you leave behind. Great video! 💜
That looks like enough “snacks”for a whole elementary school, lol. However, if she has a bunch of kids that probably means there are a bunch of their friends at the home all of the time. So you can’t give your kids a snack without some for the friends, so that’s where the inventory goes. She’s probably the neighborhood “snack mom”.
Nah, that lady just overconsumes. I grew up in a large family that always had kids over. My mother would buy 1 trolley of groceries every 2 weeks and we had more than enough. This lady buys 5 trolleys of junk every week to load up into her already stuffed pantry.
The idea of supplying period products for guests is nice, maybe a spare toothbrush or comb. But no guest needs individually packaged wet wipes for their butt. They are so bad for the toilet system. I have toilet paper, thats enough.
Those videos are not restock. There are a hidden advertisment of products they sell from amazon. The restocking is just advertising. The pantry is probably a pursuase with coupons. In real life l am sure they live without all of these craps.
Shawna😂😂😂 you made me laugh sooo hard, poop bombs or dude bombs😂. I kind of wonder if they work???? Are the dude bombs with a maskulin sence and the female spray smells like rainbows and unicorns😂. This is crazy ❤
I use make up wipes semi-regularly. But as someone with a chronic illness that is sometimes bedridden for days at a time, I recognize that my situation is unique. I don't understand the "only one wipe pouch" things though. What's the point of that?
So I actually just bought a pack of makeup wipes for the first time in six years, but only because I now find myself in a lifestyle where I've started having a lot more late and tired nights than before. So they are absolutely only for special nights when I'm too tired to stand at the sink and wash my face, I would absolutely never destroy my skin by using them every single day.
Oh for sure. I have a face cleanser at home, but at work I have face wipes, helps when I'm hot or been in a dusty place. You only get 30 wipes per pack, so gotta eke them out haha
32:41 I feel like there are times and circumstances where a closet restock is somewhat necessary. I’m 6 months postpartum and am coming to the conclusion that my body has changed so much and I need to “restock” and replace a lot of my clothing
To be fair, the one chick has 13 people in her house. Still well too much, but at least there’s a chance of it being needed with that many people and their friends.
The thing that gets me about these videos is the lack of store brand. They always just show name brands. Reality is getting at least SOME store brand. Our store brand is better than most name brand so we buy mainly that. This type of restocking just isn't the norm for the majority.
You asked, so I’m commenting! I use makeup wipes (even though I don’t wear makeup) on days where my chronic pain has kept me in bed. I use them with that Evian water spray. It’s nice to feel a bit more refreshed
great video!!! that bath and body works video was wild - i say this as someone who worked there for a year and collected about 20 body sprays and many more candles when i worked there. i will honestly never have to buy a candle again 😭
Omg that purse station restock was so incredibly wasteful. 😭 I keep like an old cosmetic bag in my purse with a few things I might need (Bobby pins, floss, chapstick, etc) and a few old ziplock bags to get keep everything organized like one for medicines and one for snacks. If I were to get a new bag I would just put them in a new purse. You don't need individual butt wipes. I have a kid, I just keep a 2 dollar pack of wipes in my purse and I could use them if I needed to for a multitude of things. People truly are inventing problems so they can buy more crap. Thanks for speaking the truth Shawna
I use the single use makeup wipes. They are perfect for me! I don't wear makeup every day. I can sometimes go a whole month without putting it on. In the past I used the wipes that came in the larger package but no matter what i did, i couldn't keep them from drying out because i just couldn't go through them fast enough. I also travel alot and these are perfect for that!
I don't think the poop smell products are to prevent others from knowing that you pooped. I think they're for saving everyone's nose and appetite after people like my husband poop. If I don't go spray Febreeze in the hallway bathroom after he uses it, my office at the other end of the hall smells like someone changed a diaper in here.
Restock is a funny word to use for personal/home shopping in general, places with inventories like supermarkets and stores restock things, not us regular people who can only consume a limited amount of produce/product in a given time before the products go bad, with regular houses to both store our possessions and also have space left over to live comfortably in 😭
My closet restock is putting away clean laundry…….😂
This is very true 😂
You just reminded me that I need to clear the clean laundry out of the hamper and the dirty laundry off of my unpacked boxes into the hamper 😮💨
The restock grind never ends 😆
the most exiting restock is finishing a repair and finally having the item back in rotation
Thanks for the laugh!

That's right 👍
it’s just glorified hoarding when you’re rich :/
YES! I remember growing up poor we used to keep old products for honestly way too long but it's bc we didn't get new things often and it was looked at as "trashy" but these creators are literally doing the same thing??? they just never use the products 🙃

This would be hilarious

Omg do it

Ikr?! Like how many people live in those households?
@@empyrea_2546 well a family with 11 adopted kids and two parents is gonna go through a LOT of food.
@@newcamomile I was thinking that too, optimist that I am, I really hope the intentions is that both those households have adoptive/foster kids and they keep it overly stocked so the kids don’t feel like they are “taking”. However, it just looks like organized hoards to me.

There’s no way that was 7k worth of groceries. Maybe a couple thousand, but not 7k
Idk with inflation nowadays 😂
I agree not 7000
It's definitely not.
Ive seen people do annual/semi-annual purchases of an entire animal’s worth of meat and fill their freezer with it, and it didn’t cost $7k
Most likely 7 hundred
That declutter-to-restock the closet video reminds me of that part in the hunger games where the ppl from the capital were taking puking capsules to continue eating food during the party🤦♂️ so dystopian…..
An excellent comparison.

The Dougherty dozen family is so problematic, well really it’s the mom.

Agreed but a lot of these people are in a huge amount of credit card debt.
the damage that has been done just because humanity likes clicky clacky sounds
Let's call it what it is: abundance porn. "Look at me! I can afford $7k on groceries!". With so many people struggling to afford groceries, having THIS MUCH food is a signal of wealth. But it's also content designed to be able to cleverly write off the family's entire food budget as a business expense. Because if you show it on camera like this, that's deductible against their income. I have got to give them some credit, because that's definitely a finance hack.

Good grief, that sounds horrible.
11 kids... I'm sorry, is this like a foster home or group home or something? I am just baffled by the idea of having 11 children in this day and age.
Oh my gosh 😱
Shes also a menace to her children, exploiting them for profit, sharing their personal and medical info online, feeding them nothing but crap.
I can very much see this as a fun party thing!

On the subject of Funko Pops; would you ever be willing to do a video on overconsumption and hyperconsumerism in fandom spaces?

-----
Edit:
Another thing working around a sports schedule means that often there simply is no time to cook at home between trainings.
But I’ve been doing so much better with changing the way I think about shopping since watching your videos.)
that aside what I was basically saying was while I have little room to talk about the closet restock.
This looks like a extreme coupon situation, sure it's probably $7, 000 worth of groceries but the reality is she probably only spent a couple hundred.
We need to restock brains, obviously, since we cannot restock planet Earth.

I buy 25 pound bags of flour, sugar and supplies. Less packaging and it saves us a fortune
Clothes are not consumables! 😲 I'm half way through replacing my entire wardrobe with things I've made myself, and I gave myself ten years for this!
Purse station? I beg your finest pardon
Purse stations might be more useless than middle managers
😂
For the purse one, you’d still have to switch your wallet and keys
accurate
A shoe haul for me is hauling the shoes from the floor to the storage bin. Clothing haul? Yep, hauling the dirty laundry to the laundry room.
I would love to see an anti-single-use-plastic video! Plastic is so gross, I avoid it as much as I can
Plastic is absolutely essential for many disabled people.
@@dr.kiralyagnes4981 thank you for taking the time to give me the nuance. I appreciate it
the bath and body works closet is a scent headache just waiting to happen 💀
The discussions and the pace of your videos are so so refreshing. Love your content!
My mum turned my room into an over-consumption hoarder den. It was wild. When she passed, it was awful having to go through everything and try to sell it. Be mindful of what you leave behind.
Great video! 💜
You deserve more subs! Great series!
Thank you, Shawna! You are life changing 🎉
I have toilet paper, thats enough.
a little moisture is nice
Those videos are not restock. There are a hidden advertisment of products they sell from amazon. The restocking is just advertising. The pantry is probably a pursuase with coupons. In real life l am sure they live without all of these craps.
right on the money with this, so many of them are ads for products they're selling in their storefronts
Shawna😂😂😂 you made me laugh sooo hard, poop bombs or dude bombs😂. I kind of wonder if they work???? Are the dude bombs with a maskulin sence and the female spray smells like rainbows and unicorns😂. This is crazy ❤
If you would eat all that candy, you would deffenetly need the dude boms😂
I first thought they were just regular bath bombs. lol “poop bombs” 😂
Also they're way too expensive to use every day lol
Oh for sure. I have a face cleanser at home, but at work I have face wipes, helps when I'm hot or been in a dusty place. You only get 30 wipes per pack, so gotta eke them out haha
32:41 I feel like there are times and circumstances where a closet restock is somewhat necessary. I’m 6 months postpartum and am coming to the conclusion that my body has changed so much and I need to “restock” and replace a lot of my clothing
To be fair, the one chick has 13 people in her house. Still well too much, but at least there’s a chance of it being needed with that many people and their friends.
that’s still too much for one summer
I was cracking up when you lifted the mic and went “GIRL”🤣💜
I appreciate you for appreciating this 😂
I'm so excited to early on another shawna video + TIKTOK RESTOCKS!!! I love this series it gives me so much life, I laugh so hard every time
The thing that gets me about these videos is the lack of store brand. They always just show name brands. Reality is getting at least SOME store brand. Our store brand is better than most name brand so we buy mainly that. This type of restocking just isn't the norm for the majority.
PURSE ESSENTIALS BEING STORED NOT IN A PURSE??? i was gagged
I’m so glad you love filming these because they’re also my favorite thing to watch that you make keep it up!!❤❤
You asked, so I’m commenting!
Though I’m a b&bw fan, they like tree hut are proof you can over-consume with any price point
you're one of the only creators i watch every single video of. love your viewpoints on things, keep up the good work x
I wouldn't be opening my garage door, letting the whole street see my in-home convenience store in this economy 😅
Infinite 💜💜💜💜💜 I LOVE these series. Each time I realize just how much we have normalized overconsumption for so many things
Restock is a funny word to use for personal/home shopping in general, places with inventories like supermarkets and stores restock things, not us regular people who can only consume a limited amount of produce/product in a given time before the products go bad, with regular houses to both store our possessions and also have space left over to live comfortably in 😭
Y'know, I'm still not sure how I found you, but I've been loving your videos, they're so chill 💜
thank you so much!
I only use makeup wipes to remove makeup, but I rarely wear makeup. I maybe buy 2-3 makeup remover wipe packs a year.
