After Kage died, I went back and looked at all the pictures of us taking a nap on the side of a river bed after we freed a village. I went absolutely BERSERK when he sacrificed himself for me, *takes 5 flaming arrows but keeps running, Kage ran through the night and blizzards, when we finally got away from everyone…. He instantly dropped dead knowing that he died with honour protecting his one best friend. Thank you Kage Thank you
This death hurts the most in the game because many of us realized, but never acknowledged up until that point, our horse was our most faithful friend, and companion throughout our journey. And it's soul was completely innocent in the midst of all the war, genocide and dishonor.

When I got a new horse from Yuna, I deliberately chose to not use the deluxe horse again because I felt it would be a slight to Kage. I chose the white one cause of the snowy landscape and named him Nobu. Somehow his death made me more sad than most sad moments in other games. I never got to take him on that peaceful ride. Rest well Kage, my loyal friend
I was even speaking to my Nobu throughout the game and bonding with my horse and that beginning of act 3 broke my samurai spirit 👺 went from full honorable to the most enraged murder.
So I named my horse Kage. I felt that once Jin was critically wounded and his honor died on the beach he literally became a shadow of what he once was. However, once Jin had lost virtually everything including Kage he died once more. Only this time he found the will power to continue on. All he had left was his goal to kill the Khan, free his people. His pain was worth giving his people a sense of hope of a better day. This is why I chose the white horse and named it Sora. Hope from the skys. Angels on our shoulders. It also helps that I got Jins white ghost armor. Idk own head cannon I guess.

I know y'll in the comments are showing your respects to your fallen buddy, but let me agree this, in my country Cuba in very dark ages of my childhood i was forced to eat horse meat cause we dont have nothing to eat, but with time i learn how sacred are horses, how valuable, how loyal, imagine how afect me Yami's death, i prefer starve in some situations instead eat horse meat, i fight a man cause he was treating bad his own horse, horses are sacred, do not eat horses meat guys, do not treat horses like tools my friends, the escene your horse is taking you away from Shimura's soldiers with his last breath no matter the arrows, no matter the fatige, he complete his task, not for Tsuchima, but for you

Fucking hell the horse scene killed me when I first saw it. As a 32yo that has been gaming since I was a kid, GoT is easily my favourite video game.
