Bro i have a 2017 outdoorsman with the 5.7, mine is also a Canadian truck in the U.S and mine is now starting to have the same issue, ive tried cleaning the connector, the post and swapping the fuses and relays, i think its my rack and pinion too, i dont understand why they choose to make it more difficult with VIN specific
I'm dealing with this BS on my 2017, except I have no codes. Just doesn't assist sporadically. No rhyme or reason to when it works or doesn't either. Removed every connection, cleaned really well and then die electric greased everything.......exact same issue. Hoping the steering gear I ordered fixes it
Hey so all you did was clean the battery terminals and leads? My 2016 start a couple of days ago but was fine the next day, then bad again today. It doesn’t go completely out, just kind of intermittently. Thanks for posting the video
Hey bro ch3ck the battery voltage what I noticed while having this problem is that the electronic power steering is powered by the battery if u clean the terminals and that's not try a fresh battery that should work.
That's how my 2013 behaved. It eventually stopped working all together. I can't find parts anywhere to fix it. I would trade that truck in while if still works.
@CoolDudel537 I was considering replacing the battery, but my battery sits at 12.6V at rest and 14.4V while the truck is running. If I spin the wheel dry steering I can watch the voltage drop sometimes to 12V and the wheel doesn't get heavy. Then on the highway later at a steady speed with voltage sitting at 14.4V the steering loses all power assist.
I’m glad I found this my 2013 completely went out.. I haven’t taken it in yet there’s a recall but it might not be related. I’m going to do this first! Thanks
Good video, good luck on money back from Chrysler.
3 times now shifter harness and bezel on my wife’s jeep. Still no recall, or reimbursement.
I will try this this weekend ,,my son in law has the same issue on his 2013 ram.. thanx for the input
My 2013 went out too and I can't find a rack and pinion. Please repost with any info how to repair.
guys i tried everything i could on my 2013 and the only solution is to remove the circuits board in the rack and found the weak solders behind it.
Theres a circuits board in the rack, you need to check for cracked solders behind it
it great when you have to do the billion dollor companys job for then thank for the vid hope its the same problem i have

Did you have intermittent eps loss at first? Currently having this issue.

My 2013 went out too. Can't get the rack and pinion from dealer and can't find aftermarket. If you figure something out please repost.
What ended up happening
@@michaeltemple895 My 2013 is going out right now. Truck feels unstable at speeds higher than 65 mph. What did you end up doing to fix it?
