This guy is the man right here. 2018 ram same issue. Sprayed with PB blast in Dollar General parking lot , immediately fixed. Thank you thank you. The good guys needed a win today!
Excellent information and video. Saved my daughter from spending a lot of money to replace electric steering unit which everyone said was the problem. We sprayed wd40 on the u joint and 1/2 hour later the problem was solved. Thank you sir. You are the man!
I have to tell ya, I can't thank you enough for creating this video. Despite how much money you are potentially saving some folks, the idea of checking the knuckle has never occurred to me. I was preparing to spend my weekend troubleshooting this issue in preparation for a long trip next weekend. (Checking for clogged line, dirty rack, PS pump, etc). You've saved my time ad possible some money so thanks again!
Thanks for the video! Steering started getting stiff today, spray the steering joint and fixed the problem left it running and did a few rotations to work the WD40 into the yoke and it definitely working immediately. Thanks man God bless
Thank you kind sir. This was exactly my issue. you’ve made me aware of what needs to be changed and I can avoid the stealership and their BS games. They already changed the power steering rack and of course, that wasn’t it. Thank you again. The least I can do is subscribe.
Thank you my man ...I've been sad for 2 weeks worrying about my how I was gonna afford to fix this issue ....let me say you saved me $4200 as that is what mechanic quoted me .. I used a can of crown rust spray ($15)..and it's like a new truck... Thanks for canada
Ya I just literally ran outside popped the hood open and found some WD-40 in my dad's cabinet and sprayed it. And now it turns smoothly and I'm a girl so any one can do this.. thanks a million!!
Good information the only thing I'd probably do differently and please someone correct me if I'm wrong but id probably go with white lithium grease to buy me some extra time
I had this problem shortly after purchasing our used 2019 Ram Classic. I tried to get the part off, but the yoke is rusted to the shaft. So I used ATF and a toothbrush, cleaned it up really good, then sewed a leather boot to fit around the joint. Pumped it full of grease, then finished sewing up the boot. By the way, there was no slack in the steering. If it was worn out, it would not be good to take this approach. It's been over a year, and steering is as smooth as can be. Now it is being constantly lubricated, and is protected from road salt spray, etc. Better than as manufactured.
I can’t thank you enough man. Your trick worked like a charm. Question: is this a bandaid fix when this solution works and the part should ultimately be replaced? Or it’s good to go?
@jmccaig1880 Should be good to go. If it stiffens up a little, re-spray. It's been 2+ years since I had to re spray. Oh yeah, please subscribe to the channel 😀
I have a 2016 big horn and it makes a sound like a cell phone vibrating when I move the steering wheel to the left slightly (not turning left just moving the wheel) I have to be going over 30mph for it to do it. Everything else is fine. What do you think
What about when your truck says to service power steering? Cause my truck does that but the power steering light is coming and going. So what do I do then?
The steering on my 2016 Ram started getting really stiff just the other day, but it's intermittent. It's like the power steering, isn't working and then all of a suddenit will. Think it's the same issue?
You describe my symptoms to a T really hoping this video takes care of the issue. Let me know what kind of results you get. It’s 25° out there today so I’ll wait for something a little warmer
on my 2017 RAM 1500, I had the power steering service light come on. took it to a dodge ram dealer, they replaced the EPS and two days later the light came back on. anyone had the same issue?
I have a question, did anyone else also have a light and message appear on the dash for service power steering with this issue? Or am I just fucked with the electronic steering assist replace? 😭
The first time you steared the key was on the off position of course steering is going to be hard then you turned the key on the foward postion and got easy by the turn of the key
This video could save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars. So do me a big favor, hit the like button and please subscribe!!👍
So where is the Steering Fluid reservoir ?

You've helped me remember that it's not always the highly technical issues we need to look for the old time mechanical issues as well

Had the same problem. No codes. Lubricated universal joint and helped. I replaced the steering shaft.

You could get it diagnosed at a shop. Could be to u-joint connected to the power steering shaft
@@truckkjonze308 thank you I appreciate it!
