Yeah I'd be sitting in that seat saying to myself 'please be delayed, please be delayed' 🤣 Superb to see you upstairs on a plane rather than a bus today, well deserved!
Ill be flying my first A380 in Qatar business class next year! I am really excited and am grateful for points to be able to do somthing like that. I hope Amazing sums up my experience like it did yours! Cheers!
Have used Qatar airways quite a few times, and always had good service, with very helpful and friendly staff. I worked and lived in Qatar before all the development at the beginning of 1980.
Cheers mate. It was a great experience and, maybe it didn’t come across that well in the video, but I was trying to say that anyone can do it with a bit of clever spending to amass loyalty points and doing it economy one way, biz the other makes it much more affordable too 👍
A great airline with good food and level of comfort, all in all a lovely experience and thanks for taking us along, until the next time stay safe and well, cheers.
I flew Heathrow to Abu Dhabi 5 times in 18 months. Etihad A380 to Abu Dhabi then a smaller plane to Kathmandu. I loved the A380. Always economy but I was always awed by the size and comfort of the A380.
Cheers Neil, I do fancy trying Emirates A380. Not sure I can afford it in biz atm (need a few more views/subs 😂). Having said that, economy does look good. And Etihad, I have seen some decent fares in the recent past so may be an opportunity there too.
You deserve a taste of luxury! A slight change from the punishing journeys travelling on crammed trains and busy double decker service buses. Fair play to you. 👏
Cheers Gareth, I thought I’d treat myself and burn a load of avios. Certainly not something I can afford to do every day mind! Don’t worry, I’ve been back on the buses every since, so plenty more of those videos to come! 😊👍
How did I miss this one?! Anyway, you said it - amazing! Very jealous of the fantastic experience! (I don't know what you mean by "proper RUclipsrs" - you definitely count!) The aircraft flew / landed itself, I'm sure (once upon a time, I jumpseated in an A320). I've been on a few A380s, BA, Air France, Lufthansa and Singapore (all in Y), and the big notice is how quiet and smooth they are. The AF one, we were in the middle block, and we barely noticed the spool up, acceleration and takeoff. Thanks for the experience! (makes a change from the hellish bus videos!)
Cheers mate - as you can tell, this was some experience! Maybe one day I’ll go on another, fancy BA actually now that they’re doing them up a bit. Gotta spend those avios somehow 😊👍
Nice treat flying business eh. I don't too often so I value every moment when I do. The meals, like on this flight, are the best part imo. Cheers from Tokyo!
Cheers mate. Such a smooth transition from ground to airborne, it was impressive and the landing, well, all I can say is trust the ILS I guess because I had absolutely no idea where I was until we were down. Very surreal!
Totally agree with your summing up - I flew my first A380 with Singapore Airlines in Business Class en route to Australia. I didn't use points but found a travel agent that specialised in cut price business class and with my extensive itinerary, it was really good value for money. Instead of dreading the flights and the discomfort (of economy), I had the time of my life and enjoyed every single minute of the flights - for me it was worth every penny and I had a life long memory of happy times - thrown into even more significance as this was in the late part of 2019 just before Covid, lockdowns, no travel etc. I'm only disappointed that you had a coke in the bar rather than a Mimosa, Bellini or straight up champers!
I’ll be honest, was feeling a bit rough on the flight so a coke was about as much as I could stomach unfortunately. But, you’ve given me a good excuse to do it again some time! Glad it brought back memories for you too. Cheers for the comment 😊👍
Great video, I usually watch your bus journeys , but I have to say that was an amazing flight, And I fear flying but I think I might just be able to achieve that 😁 Thanks 👍👍.
Cheers Gary. This is a bit of a break from the norm for me and tbh, it does beat the X2Liverpool to Preston service! I used to be just like you with the flying but you’d be fine on this, hardly know you’re in the air. Oh and there’s plenty more bus and coach videos coming up! 👍
Great trip, very jealous want to fly a 380. One question re your commentary. I watch most of your videos with ear buds and it sounds as if you're recording the commentary without any sound isolation kit? I may be wrong
It is definitely one of my life goals to travel on long haul business class..That's the problem with watching to much Paul Lucas and Noel Phillips. ;D, But yes the A380 is a great aircraft.. I travelled in Emirates economy and that still felt nice and spacious. Good video. :)
I definitely watch too much of those two but it is quite inspiring because, until I did, I thought this kind of stuff was out of reach. It most certainly isn’t. Just save up those avios and go for it 😊👍
Hi Mark, just wondering did you have to do a COVID test & provide documentation when transferring through Doha ? Will be traveling with family very soon. Thanks.
@@LetsMakeaTrip I haven't looked af a bus up to berwick as I usually get the train but should be good just long but if u would consider it I highly recommend the x45 between Newcastle and consett
Cheers mate. Yes I think it would become routine but I’d still do it as much as I could (if I had the money). And long-haul, I’m not sure I’d go at all here days if it was economy. Definitely not overnight!
Cheers VA, interesting to know. Tbh, I was hoping there would be more to it than that but yep, did help the mood and the table’s certainly big enough for it! 😊👍
I just won’t travel economy long haul anymore unless it’s in the day and no more than 7 hours or so. Even then I’m not great with it. But it’s an age thing, I’ve paid my dues so yep, a treat now and again is worth it! 👍😊
It would. It was amazing how low the cloud was. Gave the impression we were far off the ground so it was a complete surprise when we came out the other side literally feet off the runway. ILS is superb isn’t it!
I never had you down as a travel snob !,. A380 business class !,..but i dont blame you for that price, i know some dickheads on you tube do it for kudos & views, but it amuses me when they pay £2000+ for 1st class and i pay £600 to get to the same place on the same plane,.i wouldn't like the fancy food in 1st/business i'm an economy guy all day long, ive been on the A380 3 times, with emirates and thai airways and my trip on thai's A380 was the best flight ever LHR/BKK noon departure out of london and 6am arival in bangkok, 3 seats all to myself and slept for a good 7 hours and woke up as breakfast was being served, (12 hr flight) i to am in awe of the pilots and crew on these planes,. But did you see the you tuber who got banned from Qatar flights and got cabin crew fired to for a negative flight review, Josh cahill is the video,.keep on traveling cheers,.
What a lovely video! I would feel the same. "Look Mum I'm in Business Class!". I flew on one of those with Qantas on London to Sydney and tbh the absolute highlight was watching the sun rise over the outback watching through the tail cam. Best in flight movie ever.
Cheers mate, I’m not one for watching loads of movies on the IFE so yep, I agree, best entertainment for me is the cameras if possible or just looking at the map! I just can’t seem to settle much on the long haul biz flights I’ve been on. Too many buttons to press 😂
Seems like you had a great experience Mark. It is indeed true that amazing is the word that defined your experience overall. Including the lounge itself I only ever went once to an airport lounge in Bologna (an airport which made me used to such foggy landings), and in that case it saved me since the security controls were jam-packed.
Certainly did Enrico, would definitely recommend it even just the once. I reckon a lot of people on that plane weren’t really bothered. They left the chocolates behind for example so probably do it all the time. For me though, it was very much a one off with QR though I’ve got plenty more avios saved up now and given the choice between them and BA, well there’s no question it’d be QR again. Cheers mate 😊
My first time there (well second if you include arriving a couple of days earlier). The Al Mourjhan lounge was a highlight for me, could’ve spent all morning in there tbh - loved it.
And then you woke up and it was all a dream, you were all the time asleep on a coach from Perth to London!!! What an amazing trip. You look more refreshed after that then your normal bus trips ...lol
So glad you enjoyed your first A380 flight Mark. Despite QR's CEO telling aviation blogger Sam Chui (during the pandemic) "there is no future for the A380" he had to eat his words and reactivate some of the fleet to meet demand. Unfortunately QR will only keep these A380s operational for a few more years. But who knows ... after all there's no certainty in aviation.
Yes I think recent years have certainly demonstrated that and I still lament not getting upstairs on the 747 (though maybe LH if I can, how ever long they last with theirs). Thing is now, that QR flight is certainly the best I’ve been on but I would love to try Emirates. A tad more expensive though unfortunately!
Yeah I'd be sitting in that seat saying to myself 'please be delayed, please be delayed' 🤣 Superb to see you upstairs on a plane rather than a bus today, well deserved!
Cheers Steve, it was a great seeing as I’ve been paying my dues on all those buses for last last year or so 😂

Thanks Marjorie. I travelled in the Etihad A380 the other week (video out soon) and for me, the Qatar experience was better.
Oh wow Mark! What a cool experience. Business class looks amazing, I’m so happy for you to get to enjoy that. Thanks for sharing it with us all!

Absolutely amazing (I said it!). Definitely my bucket list - Fly on an a380!
Haha, cheers Danny. You certainly won’t regret it given the chance. Like nothing else I’d flown on 👍
Wow a business class flight for less than a £1000 is really good, you looked a bit uncomfortable when u were in doha loved the video
Ah it all worked out ok in the end. And yes, travel is much better when you do it with added value for money
Took an A380 business class flight London to Singapore. Loved it. Then cattle class Singapore to Brisbane on a A380. The difference was staggering
I bet! I’m totally wanting to get to Singapore later on this year, I’ve heard the airport is amazing! Fingers crossed 🤞
Oh yes. Changi airport. Its massive. No need for heating! Warm 365. Good luck. It was 13 hours from LHR though
That take off didnt seem real did it. I bet that was a weird experience Mark?! Also that landing was amazing! Great video again.
