I must have seen over 200 videos on Latte Art; this is the only one that shows the ultimate trick on how to transition from the starting pour to starting the design...that is the change in the height of the jug - start at normal pour height and then when you want to start the design, bring the jug almost to the coffee line. Thanks a lot for the wonderful demonstration! I have a Breville 870 and works like a charm!
few tips for people who wants to improve latte art. use higher fat content milk as it's easier to steam and stretch. don't get it too hot or over stretch it. if you get the right texture for milk then it's all about pouring technique.
@@洪裕珉-v8h I have been led to understand that the facts actually help make a more hibachinus mixture because the bubbles suspend better so you get microphone instead of foam and liquid that doesn't mix as well to make easy latte art. Hi Phil McKnight, I’ve recently purchased an Oracle Touch with the view to making latte’s. After doing much research and watching hours of videos I decided on the Breville Oracle Touch because the claim by Breville hosted expert baristas, yourself and other Breville representatives is that the product could make latte ready milk. After some testing with this machine I cannot get this to happen using the milk steam wand as per your demonstrations. Looking more closely at two RUclips professional barista demonstrations sponsored by Breville using the Oracle I finally noticed that on both occasions the milk steamer was being utilized in the ‘manual’ mode, relying on the skill of the barista to create the latte quality foam. I didn’t notice this at first but it now makes sense since it seems impossible for the Oracle to make this foam without human barista skills. I looked at all the other videos by yourself, Gail (Seattle Coffee Gear) and others and the camera always cuts away during the latte frothing segment so it was impossible to tell one way or another whether the end result was produced using the automatic latte milk frothing setting. Is it possible that you demonstrate the milk frothing and final results without edit and in detail, show us the combined milk froth mixture and the end result. At this point i’m only able to produce hot milk with floating thick foam on top which is not suitable for lattes. I don’t mind paying $3K for a coffee machine as long as it performs as advertised. The actual coffee crema is great, the rest of the functionality is great but the reason I purchased the Oracle is for the latte’s. Would appreciate some feedback. Thanks.
If you have too thick foam: stretch only half of the time of the heating process, the second half just make the milk whirl around like crazy, with the steam wand submerged (no longer frothing, just heating and whirling). If you have too big bubbles, you probably hold the wand too high above the milk. It's a very precise position, even 1/16th" matter.
henq Thanks I’ll keep that in mind. This machine is advertised to make the latte foam without any human interaction. It actually injects the air through the nozzle as part of the design. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear to work as advertised.
Daniel Ponsford Thanks for the feedback. What model Oracle do you have and what froth setting do you use for lattes. Once the frothing is complete is most of the milk comprised of micro-bubbles or just the top 1/2” ? One other thing, are you able to make latte art?
I use a slightly lower setting, maybe one or two notches below the centerline. Also, I find that you cant have too much milk in the jug, or too little. Finally, You have to properly purge the steam arm in manual before using it in auto. After all this, as long as the pour is timed well, and the milk is tapped and swirled, it seems to work fine for me
Does anyone please know why my coffee sage machine when pouring the coffee, it does not pour smoothly into cup? I setted up side button with number 2 and 4 for brewing and is the same... Also how to make a proper milk? I have tried it manually, I have tried using the sensor for frothing Numbet 5 and 6, pouring more or less milk into jug and it just cannot get proper milk for art. I just don't get it 😑
TLDR: no, modify your technique. In all the research I've done, that is not a thing. You just have to learn to do it in a shorter amount of time period you can get lower powered machines but you can't really turn down the temperature of steam the steam a specific machine makes Especially not a push and play unit from Bravo. That's not an insult as I just purchase myself a Bravo bambino knowing there are limitations but I was shopping the full rand other units under a $1000 some of the more commercial style machines have the ability to change the temperature to the brew group, nothing I saw actually had any way to change the temperature of the steam, whether it was a heat exchanger or a separate boiler for the steam. Thermoblocks had no accessibility and neither did the thermojet like the rebel bambino, bambino plus and whatever that new unit they came out with recently that also has the thermojet heating element.
@MrTacoma congratulations! I'm pretty happy with my two-day-old Bambino plus. I don't but barely have space for this in my kitchen haha. I definitely don't have the Knack of getting the right texture before my milk is too hot with this thermojet system. They aren't kidding when they say the milk is up to temp in 40 seconds... I don't want to waste milk so I really haven't been able to get the Knack because 40 seconds is a lot faster than you think! It's still delicious though 😁 (I also bought 2% milk and the typical Chobani oat milk that is not Barista blend that I normally drink, both of which foam well but that doesn't integrate well into the silky texture you need for latte art I am to understand. It's to do with the stabilizing effect of the fat in the milk for the stabilizers that are added to Alternative milk in Barista blends)

I prefer skim.
It’s lower in fat and it’s the proteins you want to stretch, not the fat.

Easier to understand this, fat is for flavoring while protein is for foam
