I watched this video last night, made my morning coffee today and ON MY FIRST TRY I made more progress than I have in months. Pour speed, spout distance and starting too far back in the cup were my issue. THANK YOU PAPA LANCE FOR BEING AMAZING.
At first this video totally depressed me, because all of the "mistakes" looked much better than anything I have been able to pour. My hearts look more like leaves. But after carefully studying the video, I found the section on flow rate very helpful. I had been following Emilee Bryant's advise to slow down the flow rate while pouring the design so the pour was the width of a pencil. This morning I poured a bit faster and got my first ever heart! Hopefully things will get better from here. Thank you Lance for all you do!!!
Lance, I have been working at and failing for the past several months at basic latte art. Thank you for posting this video. Too many videos I’ve seen show how-to and assume there will be no mistakes. These type of videos are more helpful to me because the assumption is something will go wrong.
There are many videos online on the topic, but only this one and another one by Emilee Bryant made a real impactful difference in my latte art. Thanks, Lance.
Thank you for this! It was so helpful to see the distinctions between each of the categories visually to know which problem I actually needed to work on. Really appreciate the slow-mo as well, for a novice, there's a lot going on and happening quickly. Slowing it down helps my brain keep-up!
BAM! Big Bruv Lance comes out to show who's the daddy of Latte Art Instructional videos! Really appreciate you explaining each and every step of the process & props for thowing in all those nuggets of humour.
Such a great video! Very informative, HILARIOUS, and also genuine. "We don't want ugly, we want purty" 😂 I would love to see an updated video with Latte Art using a NanoFoamer.
As someone who has been doing pourover coffee for at least a decade, I applaud your expertise and ability to make the latte art learning fun without being intimidating n
Aww Lance, this is the most informative, delightfully-playful tutorial. I genuinely cracked up so many times - you are awesome. My attempts look a lot like your “fails” but I’m getting down the technique and doing some trial and error because it’s fun either way. Thanks again!
I found you through those videos a couple years ago while I was shopping and deciding whether or not I wanted to get into espresso. Now I'm here and I played around enough I want to actually maybe get decent at this latte art thing so thanks for circling back
Great video good sir, very much obliged! I’m currently doing a barista course and today I failed many times making a simple heart on many lattes and cappuccinos. Took home almost 5kgs of failed coffee + steamed milk concoction lol. This video is literally a lifesaver and I will try your tips tomorrow in class. Thank you and wish me luck!
The fact that Lance can make latte art when he's TRYING NOT TO, makes me feel like a neanderthal banging cups of milk espresso around and grunting to no avail ol
Amazing video! Not only did it help me understand how to steam milk with my new Bellman espresso stovetop machine, but the "why" behind the foaming of milk was fascinating.
I've been waiting for this video. Finally started doing home espresso a few months ago and watched your original latte art videos, but still couldn't get it right. I've watched a couple other "what you're doing wrong" type videos, but nothing looked so much like my cup as the "pouring too slow" mistake. Thank you Lance! Can't wait to try it a little faster.
