I remember having the demo disc with GT1 on it, where you could only select the NSX or the Corvette and putting hours into High Speed Ring, the only track they give you. Memories Man!
+Tanor Faux I had them demo version when I was little, I would always use the NSX. But then 5 years ago I finally got ahold of the actual game, now I have the first 4 Gran truismo games. :-)
Jeremy Dilemme Oh yeah hehe this game got me into cars when I was small too. the Acura NSX was the first car I ever wanted. 90,000$ though, but still. A racer kid can dream.
+Tanor Faux thanks to this game when I made it to GT4 I was tempted to get the 6 NSX JGTC models. I did ahold of them. But now these days I have shifted towards muscle cars. It's interesting how your taste for cars changes as you grow up.
I played this on a disc known simply as "Demo One" that I got back in 1997 which I still have to this very day. Used to deliberately stay on the car select screen just to hear this tune. Back in the good old days of PS1 something like this was unheard of in a video game. It was amazing.
I remember how pissed off I was when I couldn't play Metal Gear that came in this CD, then year later I realized that was only a demo video, not a playable demo lol.
@@hommiehommieg1348 Playable: Blasto, Tomba!, Einhander, Gran Turismo, Hot Shots Golf, Jersey Devil, Gex 2, Tekken 3, Tomb Raider II Video: NFL Xtreme, MLB '99, Spyro the Dragon, Resident Evil 2. Metal Gear Solid, NBA Shootout 98,PSU CD Magazine
Last year connected my PS1 and this was the first game I played, when this Soundtrack played I cried, today I searched it on RUclips... teared up again...
my brother absolutely hated when i chose that thing. It had the handling of a 5 ton crate, so running someone off the road was defacto. Whenever I needed to flex some muscle, that was the car of choice ;)
Is it me or games coming of off 16bit into 32 bit transition had the most atmosphere about them. This song feels almost 16 bit but in 32(ps1) format. Delicious
I remember before I got any of the GT games, I had a Playstation demo CD that had this game on it. This music brings back so many memories! I used to sit there and race the same 2 cars on the same track for hours. It may have been limited, but it was still one of my favorite games.
Considering Gran Turismo 6 has a custom soundtrack, I'd have this as my "Course Selection" music. But what to choose? Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Nurburgring, Circuit de Monza, CoTe d'Azur (Monaco GP), or Suzuka Circuit?
I used that car too,and the dodge viper on high speed ring was a blast, spinning out of control if you turned just a little too hard, and it still is! Glad I sold my copy of Forza 2 for this game!
Sorry for the late reply, I dont really know where you can find a downloadlink for the soundtrack, however you can use different programs or webpages to rip sound from youtube and give you an mp3 file (or other format), thats what i did xP
@underscoreisnotvalid I don't remember the Lancer. But I did remember the Corvette and the NSX. I think the track course was called High Speed Ring? I can't remember.
Fedor: There is no original version of this song. I wrote this (and the others) just for the game, over a period of about 2-3 weeks (writing approx 2 tracks a day). The music was written with Cubase, but it was just triggering samples which I'd already down sampled enough to fit into PSOne RAM,. Glad you liked it anyway.
Hang on, man, if this is the REAL Jason Page, composer for the menu music in GT1, I have a question for you: Could you pleeeeease upload guitar tabs for the OST? I really want to learn these songs but I suck at learning by ear. The GT1 menu score is easily my second favourite (sorry, man) original score of any video game, my favourite video game score being Kingdom Hearts but that's besides the point, lol. You did a great job on this soundtrack. This music was 100% my childhood. (Also, when I was a kid this specific song scared the crap out of me but now I f'ing love it. It's so catchy!) Anyway I would be so happy if you uploaded tabs for these songs though. I love learning video game music on guitar and I really want to learn these (OK I'm starting to get a bit redundant now but I'm kinda fanboying right now, lol.)
I remember having the demo disc with GT1 on it, where you could only select the NSX or the Corvette and putting hours into High Speed Ring, the only track they give you. Memories Man!
With the Corvette having funky glitch colors as an option. Also a WRX STi [R]!
Glitch colours ftw!

Cool. I found a new ringtone.
Any time I turn this game on, I only go to Arcade Mode to listen to this theme. This is the theme that got me into Gran Turismo.

This Brings back Memories. Remember choosing that Old Corvette. it was Fast

Omg dude that is my favorite memory of that game , that corvette....memories
+Links595 I didn't like the corvette. I preferred the NSX or the Supra
That corvette was so op, a bit hard to control with so much power at curves and accelerations tho.
Nostalgiaaa!!!!

Meu eu jogava esse jogo no PlayStation 1 na época em esse video game era top de linha só por causa dessa trilha sonora. Cara muito Show.
