It's seems as they got the best part of Grid, Dirt and the F1 games to make this.
Many developers fail to realize what their audience wants, but Codemasters really nailed it.

Incredible, given the current state of the F1 franchise. I really hope some of what they put into this game makes it to F1 24. A car builder would be a really nice addition there too!

@@MrMathias327 The F1 brand is very strict with their contracts so I don't believe is possible unfortunately.

@@RetroIgor996 I'd like to see that too, but it's unlikely 😅
But I'm not sure what would stand in the way of expanding on the already existing 'fantasy' car in the game. Rather than just giving us one fixed chassis, we could get a few options for noses, sidepods, wings, airboxes...

This is usually how this interaction works. The companies give out the game for free and the 'payment' will always be just the profit the channel gains from uploading something this early. And theyre motivated to not say anything bad about the game to keep in good standing with the company in order to continue to make early preview profits

    • @Eichro
      @Eichro Год назад +6

With those early reviews, it's usually implied that they will no longer send copies to people who review their games negatively. Not affirming, or denying, Dustin would let that impact his review but let's not pretend that's not the publisher's idea.

Well, to put in perspective, I quite agree with that. But, this is more like car simulator in term of building your car parts and cosmetics since bodykit and other things barely have any difference with the effect on your own car like how NFS Underground should be back in 2003. In short, they wanted to relive between Dirt and NFS Underground with Grid elements in there since we can hire your own mechanics and drivers/co-drivers within the budgets.
I hope this game will have more passion and true delivery rather than being blatant cash grab with lots of them locked behind DLC/paywall (even added with messy bugs and broken game). All games in past 6-7 years become mostly rubbish and lots of them going horribly wrong thanks to GREED and ass-fart shareholders who never thinks about consumer at all.

problem is, most of recent Codemaste games based on Unreal Engine. while NFS, uses Frosbite. i don't say it's impossible. it just, takes time to port existing code and assets to diffrent engine

NFS Heat actually had good physics for an arcade game (obviously very arcadey but believable). Pronounced feel of aerodynamics, loss of grip and weight transfer, which I didn't expect

12:30 oh heck yeah, its good that we have this options in the game. As much as liked the physics on Dirt Rally 2 i didnt really play too much of it because of limited restarts. Call me a noob if you want but with rallying in itself being as difficult as it is I want to have as much opportunities to learn the sport without stressing myself over not being able to progress due to skill issue so having these options for career is very useful to me. Definitely more interested in this game.
Edit: man i still miss when you can actually see other cars running the stage with you, it kinda makes the stage more alive which is one of the things i liked in the older dirt games specifically 3.

it helps a lot in the Dirt Rally series if you play with the goal of just finishing the stage or keeping an steady pace instead of going pedal to the metal

I'm usually not a fan of traditional Rally games. I usually go for more Arcade-like Rally games like Sega Rally or Art of Rally but this might be the game that I might pick up. It got stuff from your traditional WRC and DiRT games but add a lot of love thanks to the WRC license. The build-your-own car feature is the core feature that got me interested. It like they took Midnight Club LA and the only good part of Super Street Racing and made it look good and without the use of license parts. I wish regular traditional racing games have more of that.

That neon purple livery brings strong Woltz vibes (Grid Legends, Manzi's team, in the story before you start a new team with him in the career).
    Seem exciting.
Been a while since I touched a rally... not necessarily a racing superfan, just the average well rounded gamer. And this seems far superior than anything Forza, Gran Turismo or The Crew put out these days. Might pick up eventually, but right now I went back to Grid Legends after NFS Unbound pulled me back to racing phase.

3:11 That car may not be a real car, but that certainly looks like it was based off a Kia Picanto.
Speaking off, that car builder is something I'd totally want to see in a new NFS game if ever. Maybe as a side option like here, or just make it the soul choice and let people's creativity go by offering parts that look / resemble real life cars and let them build the car the way they want. They can start making loads of original customize parts too like the old Black Box era games and not have to rely on official manufacturers which could balloon the budget due to licenses.
This alone may push me to check this game out.

What annoys me the most is that modern games look so much alike specially if they're made in Unreal which is an absolutely awsome engine but it just feels like devs no longer put their touch on the looks of their games man, they no longer use visual effects like blur or bloom or some fake yet awsome looking smoke(like Pro Street for exemple) or dust like Drit Rally 2, devs no longer make their games look good and unique man, nowadays they just crank up the default settings on Unreal and make everything look like plastic toys and i swear specially when it comes to Unreal(i know i beat the dead horse here but stick with me) when you play an FPS in Unreal and then switch to a driving game in Unreal they look so alike it feels like you play the same game.
And yeah i know i rambled about Unreal but the same goes for all other engines, idk how to explain it but devs for some reason no longer make their games look good, they just make them look . . . ."generic" for the lack of a better word and it pisses me off to no end cuz now we have the tech we didn't years ago and yet games from years ago looked better than most games today do,sure the texture quality is higher now but the lack of all kinds of visual tricks and effects makes the difference,i still remember how baffled and dumbstruck i was when i saw the Pro Street smoke or other such exemples from the past and now smoke feels like just a generic smoke texture/effect or dust also feels like a generic effect same for everything else.

finally after all the years from dirt 3 and grid they finally made a modern rally game that's awesome and didn't fuck up the physics or the graphics this time and it seems to have a ton of content in the base game without dlc which is rare for an EA game
