    Hello there, quick question.
    If the elbow flexion is limited why do I have to think about tightness in the extensors (antagonists) and not stiffness or spasm in the flexors muscles themselves.
    Thank you for you informative videos.

    • @dheerajparmar4856
      @dheerajparmar4856 6 месяцев назад

      As there is spasticity in elbow extensors, the elbow flexion range is limited

    What is difference between contract relax indirect and hold relax technique?

    • @PhysioClassroom
      @PhysioClassroom  5 лет назад +6

      Hello Rashida,
      Thanks for your question,
      I hope you have seen both my videos on contract relax and hold relax technique.
      In the video I have tried to make the technique clear.
      Here is the summary of the technique:
      In Contract relax direct technique: go for relaxation of the tight muscle by resisting it's concentric contraction followed by relaxation and lengthening of the tight muscle.
      Use contract relax indirect technique to relax the tight muscle indirectly either by contracting the synergist of the tight muscle or the antagonist of the tight muscle followed by relaxation and lengthening of the tight muscle.
      In hold relax technique go for isometric contraction of the tight muscle instead of concentric contraction followed by lengthening of the tight muscle.
      Use the indirect contract relax technique or the hold relax technique if the concentric contraction of the tight muscle is too painful to resist.
      Kindly watch the video again and do let me know if there is any further doubt.
      Do share our videos with your contacts on whatsapp and facebook.
      😊🙏

    Great video 👍sir my patient is suffering from elbow stiffness since 3 months due to terrible triad surgery.he has taken physiotherapy treatment regularly.however, improvement in elbow flexion is very slow ..how much time it takes to recover?

  • @leemin7824
    @leemin7824 4 года назад

    Sir, the resistance is how many percent? As long allow active movement? Is it normal to feel discomfort aching after the PNF stretching?

    • @PhysioClassroom
      @PhysioClassroom  4 года назад +2

      You are right.
      Resistance should be according to patients effort and letting the patient win with moderate effort to induce relaxation either reciprocally or autogenically.
      Patient should not feel any discomfort or pain after the treatment session.
      Although some pain and discomfort will be felt due to breakage of adhesions while improving ROM
