    There are always going to be naysayers in any RUclips review, and for those who claim that this camera is not worth the money or the quality of the camera is not worth the price tag. Then I can tell you that it is 100% worth the money and image quality produced by the lens and sensor is far superior than any other camera I have used. I work as a commercial photographer and have premium quality Canon and Sony bodies and lenses for my work cameras, so I am not saying that Canon and Sony are no good, but I will say with complete confidence that the image quality that the Q3 produces is superior to what the other two brands are producing. Since owning the Q3, I have never ever taken any of my other cameras out for Personal use again the Q3 lives with me everywhere I go. If you can’t afford to purchase a Q3, then that’s your business, but if you can, my suggestion is, you will not be dissatisfied.

      Fully agree - owned Sony, Nikon, Fuji and Leica (Q/M/SL2/MP film). None of the cameras make the act of photography as enjoyable as the Leica's (especially the M and Q). The same Leica naysayers will happily choose a Rolex over a Casio even though the casio 'does 1000 more things'. To each his/her own. The world is a better place for having choice.

    The Q3 is a masterpiece but the most flexible camera I have used is actually the A7CR!
    Initially captivated by the Leica Q2 and later the Q3, my perspective shifted dramatically upon becoming a parent to two lively toddlers. The autofocus limitations of the Q3 became painfully apparent, prompting me to seek out a solution. Enter the Sony A7CR-an absolute game-changer boasting the same sensor as the Q3 which leads to dual APS-C and full-frame capabilities housed in a single body + The A7CR autofocus embarrasses the Q3. I'm also surprised by how much I like the extra grip; it makes the A7cr even more versatile since its also possible to use my bigger GM lenses when needed. It feels like three cameras in one (APSC, compact full frame and full frame for bigger lenses), that’s why I personally think its possibly the most flexible camera in the market. It has seamlessly replaced my bulkier A9 for about 90% of my shooting needs.
    But despite my newfound affinity for the A7CR, I can't bring myself to part with my Leica Q3 entirely. There's a certain nostalgia and tactile engagement that the Leica provides, which I cherish.

    Finally able to really use my Q3 for my Europe trip.. brought my A7R5 along just in case I feel limited using a fix lens
    today is Day 8 and have not taken out my A7R5 from the Hotel Room safe …biggest differences is the smaller size , lighter weight and I find it a lot easier/comfortable taking photos of strangers in street photography

      The 13-15Pro are great camera options and convenient as you bring it around almost everywhere….but I prefer the shooting experience of a pro camera especially during vacations ..it’s just adds more joy for me

      interesting, do you mainly photograph streets and people or also architecture and landscape? I imagine it would be much more pleasant for the street and people with the Leica. Are you currently missing something with your 7R5? The significantly better viewfinder and the better display? What kind of lens do you usually shoot with on your 7R5?

      Mainly street photography/ strangers /food….sometimes European churches, wine countryside landscape, ocean views if my travels Bring me there
      Currently I have the 24f1.4, 24-105f4 & 16-35f4 for my A7R5… still like using it but it gets heavy after a whole day of walking around the city

    @4:11 You do not get 12MP at 5x magnification. The Q3 offers 35, 50, 75 and 90mm equivalent crops (resulting in 39, 19, 8 and 6 MP images, respectively)

  • @cliph6068
    @cliph6068 6 месяцев назад +3

    I own the Q3 and it definitely has the L-log profile for video, but it depends on which codecs you set the camera to record with. You need to use one of the 10-bit options and the MOV container.

    Something off with your math - 2x zoom will give you 1/4 of the sensor to shoot with, 15,25 Mp, how can a 5x leave you with 12 Mp?

    The first full-frame DSLR cameras were developed in Japan around the years 2000 to 2002. The brands involved in these early developments included Pentax with the MZ-D, Contax with the N Digital by the Japanese R6D team, and Canon with the EOS-1Ds1. These pioneering efforts paved the way for the full-frame sensors we see in cameras today so not Leica.

  • @heyramineni
    @heyramineni 6 месяцев назад +4

    Overpriced for what it delivers in terms of technology, sensor tech borrowed from other manufacturers like Sony. Leica's current strategy is, if you can't sell in volume, sell it for a higher price.
    You can get a Sony A9III for the money you are spending on this camera and A9III is a superior camera in every way possible and if you really want the resolution, get a Sony A1.
    Anyone who loves a compact camera should invest in a Fuji x100v or heck even the XT5 with a good prime lens. Anyone serious about photography gear can get a Sony if you love cutting edge tech or a Canon/Nikon Z series cameras.

      @@AdamHouston of course they are not. A1 is worth the asking price. Q3 is not in my opinion.

    • @heyramineni
      @heyramineni 6 месяцев назад

      @@lewinfranke5496 Totally agree with your point, my comment is only wrt the pricing of Leica's cameras. If folks enjoy taking photos with a Leica then good for them. But my opinion that the pricing is just ridiculous. If there is 'some' feature that makes it unique, I get it, charge xtimes the money. But I fail to see anything Leica does better than other brands.

    • @bsmayerr
      @bsmayerr 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@heyramineni Honestly, I own a Leica M11. It offers me a totally different shooting experience, starting with it being a real rangefinder, the menus are clean, the Leica app is hands down the best between all manufacturers. It’s a unique camera and no other brand has nothing similar to that!
      And it’s still not worth the price!
      Leica prices are astronomically ridiculous, and I don’t think it will ever be justifiable.
      The Q3 is decent, I get why people buy it. It’s not only a piece of tech, but the whole (premium) experience.
      But no Leica gear will ever be worth the price IMO.

    So important things for this guy are "beauty" of this instrument - which is subjective, PRESTIGE! - I guess prestige will substitute for a fact that it is a point and shoot camera with a fixed lens, a terrible limitation, and the fact that leather was used so he goes into GENZ conniptions. Please!

    • @Unknownresident621
      @Unknownresident621 5 месяцев назад

      a 'terrible limitation' - maybe for you? I had Sony, Fuji, Nikon and when I purchased a Q back in 2015 - i shot it exclusively for 4 years - and made the best pictures of my life. I shoot street, portraits, travel and sometimes architecture. The 28mm was PERFECT for all. All the incredible photographers over the years who ONLY shot 28mm or 35mm or 50mm - they made some of the greatest photos ever.
      If your idea of a camera is one that has 1000 functions, shoots 100 fps etc etc then good for you. I've had Sony's etc before. The Sony feels like shooting a computer. The Leica feels like shooting a camera.
      The world is much more interesting with choice. Would you take a Casio/Apple Watch over a Rolex (if you can afford the Rolex?). Using your analogy you would - because the Casio does 100 things more than the Rolex. I know which I'd prefer.

    Cannot see any advantage in comparision to the Sony A7CR - senor anyhow is the same, AF in Sony is by far better und you can change lenses. Furthermore, Sony with two small lenses, likel 24/8G and 40/2.5G is still 2000€ cheaper. Realy no logical reason to go for the Leica.

    • @Unknownresident621
      @Unknownresident621 5 месяцев назад +2

      errrr....so you'd prefer a Casio watch (which does 100 things more) than a Rolex? Where does logic come into that?
