Musk out to Texas who could blame him
Third generation Californian. The state has had it's ups and downs but ultimately it's bigger than any political ideology..With that said as Joel explains it's not just the neoliberals it's also the two tiered ecconomy so your title is misleading ...
I see so many California license plates in Dallas, TX.
Kotkin gives nod to Newsom presidential bid.
California has plenty of problems but everyone is welcome here, no matter race religion identity gender none of that matters, we welcome all, if you are a hater please move to a red state.
Lives in California for most of his life but still retains New York accent...
progressive is always digressive
I agree with Mr Kotkin. Our concern is that Californians moving to Texas will turn it into another California.
I live in Dallas. I haven't seen any evidence of Californication.
It is insult to the word “progressive”
Gavin Newsome took it over the edge
He had help from the CA legislature and the voters who keep putting them in place.
And the process of shipping your concrete in from Arizona or Mexico is actually creating more emissions - because you have to burn more fossil fuels in transport. Much more efficient to mine your necessities close-by.
I've warned my work mate not to go to California for a holiday, but he's hell bent on seeing Alcatraz. I give up.
I was listening attentively to Kotkin until he called President Trump a baboon. Compared to Newsom, he is brilliant. The country did great and enjoyed tremendous success with him as president. Listen to Victor Davis Hanson, a legitimate and intelligent intellectual scholar about the demise of California and the nation - and Pro Trump.
Thank`s for mentioning the Irish mate. Where`s my dosh😁
Of course us Irish also owned slaves and our patron saint,Patrick, was a slave brought from Roman Britain.
CA is not the same cant hardly live here 😢yes they have ruined it 😭
❤❤American culture and history. Great book. Teaching white supremacy by Donald yacovan. They stopped teaching white supmrcy due to Martinl Luther kind and Malcom x
"Regressives"
Pleasant interview and generally sensible but then he falls into occassional cliches.... And maybe no one can understand other countries. One commonality is the destruction of education. Best way to make a disempowered manipulatable serf class... and Brits seem incapable of prioritising education and reestablishing high standards. Major issue.
Californians deserve the politicians they elect. 😂
The Democrat Voters Are To Blame 🤢🤮
The Democrat Voters Are To Blame 🤮🤢
Comiefornia
u forgot the part for 30 years, people will not vote.
California DEI woke government.....LOL
Why do California lovers always rhapsodize about the weather like it's unique? The coastal weather is nice, a classic Mediterranean climate with barely any seasonal change but there are lots of other places like it, the Mediterranean for example, as well as South Australia, South Africa, parts of South America. It ain't that special, plus the weather away from the coast is horrible, much too hot and sunbaked.
...he calls trump a bafoon at the end. ...thumbs down..
Keep voting dumacrat till there is nothing left😶
now do one on how the limp right enabled it.
1000%... I really do not understand how or why it is being allowed... Stop it.
He says no one sells a semi that is electric? And it would have to stop to charge every few miles. He lives in California and knows nothing about Tesla, yet he rails against young people for not being informed!
At scale.
Maybe he didn't mention it because Tesla semis won't even enter production until late 2025.
Australia has a better climate mate and not as fucked up
Sydney is definitely prettier than Dan Francisco.

No, it does not. I've been to both California and Australia. California weather is much better.
@@rodrigodiaz9472Your political climate isn`t mate
@waynemcauliffe-fv5yf the whites are divided. Same as in Australia. I know plenty of aussies with different views. Lol
All lovely and all...but the decline started under the Republicans. The one party democratic rule since the 1990s is a reflection of dire republican management from the 1960s onwards.
Combine that & the freedom of movement you have between the states, and californias problems are largely demographic...no different to Illinois or Michigan, and largely embedded & unavoidable due to policies in the 60s, 70s, 80s.
Regardless of who might have started it. The democrats have run and won on the same issues for 40+ years with minimal change. That’s two generations and things are getting worse. There needs to be change regardless of party system and this is coming from someone who’s lived here for years.
That’s some impressive cope there.
It’s not the Republicans that have permitted the drug culture and allowed crime to run rampant.
It’s not that really. It’s the Trump Biden clown show that makes the republicans make California look like crap. Once Trump is out of office everything will go back🛎️. The reason why I want Trump to win. Trump will be out of the picture and Biden will not be around to get reelected. I mean, things are booming in California.
Look out, if you emulate California, you too might be the world’s fifth largest economy.
Only Jesus saves from hell. All have sinned (Romans 3:23 KJV). The Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day (1st Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV). Jesus shed His blood for our sins (Ephesians 1:7 KJV). Water baptism DOESN'T save us (1st Corinthians 1:17 KJV). We are saved by grace through faith, not our works (Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV).
Is he a Duew?!
At least not Arab Muslim 😅
Democrats.
