We must understand that godly wisdom is available to all who will listen and learn. Unfortunately, there are many Christians who ignore the principles of living that come from the Scriptures and choose another path. The reasons why can vary from not really having a true relationship with Jesus Christ, and, so, they don't really care to follow His commandments, to being deceived by the 'wisdom' of the world. If a young person isn't well grounded in the Word, and in true relationship with the Lord, then when he/she goes out into the world--especially into the liberal, often atheistic world of academia--chances are good that he/she will turn away from their upbringing. Whatever the reason, it is very say when a Christian becomes a nominal Christian, becomes a prodigal, or turns away altogether. It must grieve the heart of God. We must pray that each one will return to the truth, to godly wisdom, and to the path that leads to a blessed life both here and for all eternity. Thanks for the teaching, Dr. G.

We must understand that godly wisdom is available t all who will listen and learn. God did not hide anything from us. He made all He is, all we have, and all He has done in His Word. His written Word is our blueprint for becoming more like Him and instructions for life. Everything we need is found in His Word. It can be hard to understand why so many Christians ignore the principles for living that come from the Scriptures and choose another path. Yet it happens every day. The basis for why is found in the parable of the sower. (See Mark 4:1-20) It gives us four ways the Word is received:
    1. Satan comes immediately to steal it
    2. Problems and persecutions cause them to fall away
    3. It gets crowed out by the worries of life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things
    4. God’s Word is accepted and produces a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted
To continue to mature in our Christian lives we are to regularly measure our progress with God’s standard of righteousness found in His Word. We need to differentiate whether we are spiritual Christians or carnal Christians by what we are developing in our lives, what has priority. It helps to remember God’s grace and mercy which is the basis of His plan of salvation. We also want to be fruitful in our walk with the Lord so others will see Him through us and decide to serve Him.
It is easy to be caught up in the cares of this world. This is an important reason to intentionally renew our minds daily in His Word and in His Presence.
“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life-your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life-and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” (Romans 12:1-2 MSG)
