Alexandra Romero, a sophomore at Apalachee High School, spoke with ABC’s Faith Abubey on scene about a friend who was in a math class when their teacher was allegedly shot in Georgia.

I was in 7th grade and it was just a normal peaceful day until a lockdown happened .we all hid inside the class room,locked the doors and closed the lights . We used all our chairs to block the doors and we used curtain to cover the windows. I was really shocked and scared but I knew that I had pepper spray in side my back pack. After a few minutes I was brave enough to use my pepper spray and peeked outside a little and sprayed it like 15 -20 times. The person who was shooting got sprayed and was in pain. Everyone was so proud of me and how brave I was. To this day I just want everyone to know don’t actually do this cause that man was pointing the gun at me.

the fact i had to go on lockdown bc of this is just sad. It’s hard to believe there are ppl like this in our society.
😢 More children dead, more families ruined, a community traumatized. Lower the risk of this happening again, and again, and again in Georgia and across every state! Vote for universal background checks, ban assault rifles and hold those who don't abide by the law accountable. One party wants this and one doesn't. Save our children! Vote 💙🇺🇲✌🏼 our hearts go out to the victims, loved ones and the entire community.
And to think Faith was good lookin enough to have maybe gotte a White husband. I guess she thought she had to settle. 😒

she sounds alright. hopefully she gets to go back tomorrow and keep good on her plans with her friends and everything. tragic schools got shooter kids blocking all the fun outta school these days. when people are just tryna be chill. glad to see some kids are still too chill to get involved and let the hate bring them down. we should hate the kid that did this and probably his parents too. some how they had to have been involved in letting this happen. sending him to school so uncool with the rest of the better kids . if they knew he wasn't chill they should have kept him at home where this wouldn't not have taken place at all. shame on them parents for thinking that kid belonged in school. forcing better kids to have to judge and think quick on their feet like that. in the middle of trying to understand important life changing algebra lessons. there's no algebra emojis on this app 😕 just math ones ✖️➗➕➖🟰 i wish we could fix this dying world .

This isn’t funny. It is so difficult going to school everyday and always thinking of an escape plan, hoping that I will be ok today, and seeing my classmates for what may be the last time.
