    They were in the '93 class. If you listen at the start of the Stackhouse clip they say he's possibly the best junior in the nation.

      Jason Kidd, Othella Harrington, Vandale Thomas and Corliss Williamson were all in the 92 class if you were listening

    Corliss won a national title and an NBA title with 6th man of the year in Detroit. I guess Sheed and Williamson were 2nd behind Kidd’s achievements in this class. Awesome talent in 92.

    Who in the Thomas is Vandale Thomas. I don't remember him in college. Did he even play in D 1 College Basketball?

  • @zyxwut321
    @zyxwut321 13 лет назад +1

    I almost forgot about Othella Harrington. I remember Othella was so hyped coming to G-town in the wake of Mourning and Mutombo but he never became the star he was supposed to be. More solidly productive than spectacular in college. Too small to be a true center but not quick enough to really hang around faster power forwards he was a classic tweener. He hung around the NBA a very long time, though. It was weird to turn on a game a few years ago and see him on the Bobcats.

    • @Belburg
      @Belburg 3 года назад

      Othella was not going to be a dominant center at 6'7". Him and Rodrick were about the same height when they played at the McDonalds' Game.

    I just googled Vandale Thomas. Interesting story. He played 2 years at Miss State, then went undrafted by the NBA. He's an accountant in New Orleans now. He's being investigated for over-billing the city for his work. He was claiming billable hours of over 100 per week, at about $180 per hour. One year, he billed so many hours that it averaged 24.5 hrs per day, 365 days per year. I would guess Mr. Thomas will be doing some jail time soon.

    @AntiMTVMovement Just think if Stackhouse and Wallace would have stayed at UNC all 4 years. They probably would have been the team to beat in there Junior and Senior Year because there were a couple more players that came in the following classes in Vinceanity (Vince Carter) and Antwan Jamison. I think the point guard of UNC was pretty good too. He had to be because it was a Dean Smith coached team.

  • @AntiMTVMovement
    @AntiMTVMovement 15 лет назад +1

    I thought Stackhouse and Wallace were the class of '93 being that they were freshmen on the 1993-94 UNC team.

  • @artwarkam
    @artwarkam 15 лет назад +1

    Don't get me wrong Kidd was a special special player but Kidd is the best rebounding guard ever and one of the best passers ever. I think Hill could have been a hall of famer but Kidd has the most triple doubles ever. But I think the biggest difference is that kidd hasn't missed the playoffs since his second year in the league and led his team to two straight championship series while Hill even when he was healthy was never the dominant force kidd was

    Too bad Othella chose Georgetown instead of Arkansas. He could have been a part of that 1994 national championship squad with Corliss Williamson and Scotty Thurman, and might have been the guy that got the Hogs over UCLA in 1995 for back-to-back titles. Instead, Corliss and the Hogs beat Othella and the Hoyas in the 2nd round of the "94 Tourney, 85-73.
    Corliss and the Hogs also beat Stackhouse, Wallace and UNC in the 1995 Final Four.
    Corliss was the Gatorade National Player of the Year in 1992. His #34 jersey hangs in the rafters of Bud Walton Arena at Arkansas, right next to Sidney Moncrief's jersey, and the 1994 national championship banner.

    • @Belburg

      Arkansas got a little lucky in the UNC 95 Final Four game. But they were a powerhouse for a couple of years.

    • @redleg1971
      @redleg1971 3 года назад

      @@Belburg Lucky? That's like saying Duke got lucky to beat UNLV in 1991. It's asinine! Luck is part of the game, that's true, but to dismiss a fair and square victory as just luck is bullshit. Arkansas has been a powerhouse a number of times. They may not have the history of UNC, but not many teams do.

    • @Belburg
      @Belburg 3 года назад

      @@redleg1971 Stackhouse got injured the first play of the game. To some, that might be a coincidence, but to me, no. Arkansas played a solid game, but that one thing defines the whole scenario. That, and Rasheed getting chumped by Corliss Williamson.
