- Jason Kidd as a senior in California high school. Jason Kidd is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Widely regarded as one of the greatest point guards of all time, Kidd was a 10-time NBA All-Star, a five-time All-NBA First Team member, and a nine-time NBA All-Defensive Team member. He won an NBA championship in 2011 as a member of the Dallas Mavericks and was a two-time gold medal winner in the Olympics with the U.S. national team in 2000 and 2008. He was inducted as a player into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. In October 2021, Kidd was honored as one of the league's greatest players of all time by being named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
As a prep player, Rhodes was a superstar from the time he was a freshman. He was a three time Parade All-American, and helped Jersey City's St. Anthony High School, led by Coach Bob Hurley, win two state titles in 1989 and 1991. At one point, he was considered as promising a prospect as future NBA star Jason Kidd.

For those that say why didn't Kidd dunk like that in the pros, or even college. Because he's smart!! Dunking is just a facet of the game. It does not make you a great player. Ask Vince Carter. He concentrated on being a great point guard. And most importantly, dunking tears your knees up. If you want to last a long time in this great sport, ease up with the dunks. Seems cool when your 16, 17, 18, 19 years old, but the toll it takes on your body isn't worth it. Ask Derrick Rose.
From an old school VHS!
This is too easy. Can we all say "KIDD in PLAY???"
Wow, Kidd with that hair and dunking with two hands ... who knew?
Rodrick Rhodes was a very highly-recruited prep player. Ended up going to Kentucky, then tranferred to USC. Played 3 years in the NBA for the Rockets, Grizzlies & Mavs. He had a pretty good rookie year, but his production kinda dropped off. I forgot if it was injuries or what. He played overseas for a while after and now he's a college asst coach.
Im sitting with Rods brother rn, Reggie and he's telling me all about him
@@jonesmane tell me what was the story? I remember seeing him in high school playing against my bros aau team he was the best, pure bball magic! Always wondered why he never became a star in the NBA.

@angus4463 Roderick Rhodes was an high school All-American before Jason Kidd was. However, after doing 3 years at Kentucky, and one at USC, his career never panned out as a pro.

Derrick Rose, Wilkins, Drexler and Carter will never, ever be considered all time greats. Bron and the GOAT (Jordan), that's legendary status. Know the game son. Don't just watch a bunch of highlights and think "That's great basketball!" Please. Become legendary.
