crystalformation Look up most shots taken in an NBA game since 1985. Jordan is number one. I know you aren't a Jordan fanboy, because you're too ignorant about his stats. Jordan took 49 shots in a single game.
I remember watching much of this game as it happened. The amazing thing about this game and Kobe's performance in it was that it took place on the same day as the 2005 NFL Conference Championships (which were won by the Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers), and Kobe's performance actually knocked the AFC and NFC Championship Games off the top of all the sports news shows (except maybe in Seattle and Pittsburgh). ESPN led SportsCenter, not with who would go on to Super Bowl XL, but rather with this game, which is astounding in a country where the NFL is king of the hill when it comes to professional sports. That's how amazing Kobe's performance on this night was.
He is being literal. Kobe did not make every shot that game, ergo, for them to have enough time to score an extra 40+ points means that they barely made mistakes
@@moleass8823 OH he was saying how many shots he would have had to miss in order to get to 81 points? I thought he was just another kobe hater berating his performance by saying that "Any all star with that amount of attempts could score 81".
I hate when people try to discredit this for the amount of free throws he shoots, like he has to make all those free throws, and wilt made a lot of free throws the night he scored 100, on top of all that kobe made 28 field goals. it's by far one of the most impressive outputs of the modern era
The most impressive output in any era if you ask me. Wilt’s 100 pointer is still impressive but its lessened by the fact that he was pretty much the only guy of his time that could ya know... actually play basketball.
I'll never get over this. This will feel like a bad dream for the rest of my life. I was too young in the MJ era but i had Kobe. I don't even know what to say. The last two days have been so tough. Kobe's career high is 81 and he has 5 rings and has been there 7 times. Steph curry's career high is 54 and he only has one ring. I hate it when people say that curry is better than kobe. Kobe is closer to jordan than lebron is. Jordan will always be better than kobe and lebron, but kobe is closer to catching him than lebron.
Curry isn't even that good to be compared most people didn't know he existed until last season! That pisses me off and GSW got lucky last season most teams weren't healthy teams that could of don't to WCF could of been spurs, rockets, or clippers! GSW will be 7th or 8th seat this year if they make the playoffs!
I agree with you completely! The warriors played injured trams throughout the playoffs. The pelicans had their starting point guard injured. The grizzlies had their main star injured. The rockets had their starting point guard injured. The cavs had two out of the three members of the big three injured. The warriors suck
I was there in the 6th row with my mom. It was the Sunday after I got expelled from school, and my mom got the tickets for free from her boss cuz the raptors sucked and he didn’t want to go. She took me to cheer me up, and I witnessed history .
I'm a die hard Celtics fan and have been all my life so obviously I hate the Lakers with a passion and hated Kobe so much but OMG what a performance against the Raptors !! RIP Kobe, a true Legend and a great man !!
Can’t imagine how fast the energy changed for lakers fans that night when they saw their team lagging behind, then Kobe making buckets and progressively catching up and ended the game with a dominant comeback.
He could've won more if he never had that feud with Shaq. If Shaq was with Prime Kobe they could've had another 3-peat. He also could've won more if Stern didn't veto that CP3 to the Lakers deal because Cuban and the other GMs apparently wanted to give small market teams a chance. And yet the league didn't mind James, Wade, and Bosh teaming up in their primes. The odds were certainly against him during his career, yet he'll go down as one of the top 10 greatest in history!

crystalformation Look up most shots taken in an NBA game since 1985. Jordan is number one. I know you aren't a Jordan fanboy, because you're too ignorant about his stats. Jordan took 49 shots in a single game.
John Cate I know, I was saying that people say Kobe took too many shots, when MJ holds the record for most shots in an NBA game.
How about free throws?
It’s always a tradition seeing this game once a while
Respect this man, Mamba mentality, R.I.P
The swish of that net is beautiful
Bruh Kobe alone scored 81, meanwhile all his teammates combined scored a SCARY 41
well that might be because he got the ball more often, especially when they realized he was on fire
He is being literal. Kobe did not make every shot that game, ergo, for them to have enough time to score an extra 40+ points means that they barely made mistakes
It’s not a scary number, it’s an eerie one.
That “Where amazing happens” statement at the end is impeccable.
Epic performance, one of the greatest performances in the history of basketball, Kobe eternal legend !!
Who’s here after Embidd 70 points on the same day Kobe did 81

@@moleass8823 OH he was saying how many shots he would have had to miss in order to get to 81 points? I thought he was just another kobe hater berating his performance by saying that "Any all star with that amount of attempts could score 81".

I hate when people try to discredit this for the amount of free throws he shoots, like he has to make all those free throws, and wilt made a lot of free throws the night he scored 100, on top of all that kobe made 28 field goals. it's by far one of the most impressive outputs of the modern era
+upyours537 It's not like it's Harden's first 50 point game, where he only had 17 field goals I think, and 25 FTA.
+upyours537 Wilt had 28/32 from the line, 36/63 FG.
Wilt shoots freethrows like ass. He is like %20 from the line
+Tupac Shakur he hit the majority of his shots that night
The most impressive output in any era if you ask me. Wilt’s 100 pointer is still impressive but its lessened by the fact that he was pretty much the only guy of his time that could ya know... actually play basketball.
I'll never get over this. This will feel like a bad dream for the rest of my life. I was too young in the MJ era but i had Kobe. I don't even know what to say. The last two days have been so tough. Thank you for everything Kobe. Thank you for making me fall in love with basketball. Thank you for all the incredible memories you gave me. And Gigi.... I can't... She had her whole life ahead of her and you fucking knew she was gonna tear the wnba apart just like her dad did in the nba. I can't imagine how Vanessa and the girls have been feeling. I wish nothing but the best for the rest of their lives. RIP Kobe, Gigi, and everyone who lost their life in that tragic accident.
This is the first time in my life that a death of a celebrity hit me so hard. Everytime im reminded of this i feel like crying. Thank you for everything Kobe. I'll never forget you. #MambaOut #24
It’s gonna hit different saying “Kobe!” every time I shoot a paper ball into the garbage can

2nd: Kobe = 34
2nd: LeBron = 34
4th: Kareem = 33
5th: Duncan = 29
Sergio Serna I forgot about OKC lol thy could of been to the Western conference finals sorry bout that lol
I agree with you completely! The warriors played injured trams throughout the playoffs. The pelicans had their starting point guard injured. The grizzlies had their main star injured. The rockets had their starting point guard injured. The cavs had two out of the three members of the big three injured. The warriors suck

Can’t imagine how fast the energy changed for lakers fans that night when they saw their team lagging behind, then Kobe making buckets and progressively catching up and ended the game with a dominant comeback.
Who else is here after kobe Bryant's 60 point game!!
me duude
He could've won more if he never had that feud with Shaq. If Shaq was with Prime Kobe they could've had another 3-peat. He also could've won more if Stern didn't veto that CP3 to the Lakers deal because Cuban and the other GMs apparently wanted to give small market teams a chance. And yet the league didn't mind James, Wade, and Bosh teaming up in their primes. The odds were certainly against him during his career, yet he'll go down as one of the top 10 greatest in history!
Duncan Donuts i
The odds were most certainly not against him his career. That’s the most idiotic thing i’ve ever heard.
@@NK-mr3rh 100% agree.
Shaq, Gasol, Malone, Payton, Artest, Odom, Howard, Nash, Bynum, Fisher, Horry... Lakers organization has gifted him some of the greatest teammates ever, not to mention one of the greatest coaches ever Phil Jackson.
He really brought "carrying the team" up the charts.
