The man put his whole heart and life into the sport and the Lakers. He would do anything to be the best. Even if the circumstances were extreme he will do ANYTHING. Thats why we love him.
How? He was great but nowhere near the goat. He hogged the ball and made his teammates nervous. Also his clutch game was way overrated. He just took all of them.
Most of the NBA's "greatest moves" of all time were done by Kobe as routine plays. His average shot was so difficult, not 10 other people in the league were attempting similar shots. And of the 10. nobody was getting 45-50% on them!
Kobe is quite underrated as a passer. Most ppl tend to overlook his playmaking skills because of the fact he is primarily known for his tremendous scoring abilities. Kobe 24 is pure brilliant, simply because as his athleticism went down, he could easily adapt his game & still dominate thanks to his crazy footwork as well as incredibly amount of different skillsets.
Because of the "Assist" stat. Playing the Triangle hides the fact that Teamwise, the Triangle generates more assists than a single Player hogging the ball in isolation and passing out of a bail-out.
His basketball IQ was out of this world. His work ethic was unparalleled and beyond reproach. He was the epitome of greatness, and one of very best who ever played the game. Kobe, you were a true legend of the game. R.I.P.
MJ and Kobe are the most skilled basketball players of all time, eye test never fails and stats don't always tell the story their pure basketball talent is just unmatched.
I think Kobe more skilled but mj more athletic and played vs weaker competition but the nba loves to market MJ. I have no problem with that he came first but the disrespect Kobe gets is insane he literally can go toe to toe with MJ At 18 🤭
@Diego Chavez Jordan played against weaker competition that doesn’t mean it was weak competition. Kobe played in the most competitive conference in the most competitive, toughest defensive and slowest paced era in NBA history and he was easily the most dominate player that decade all that being said MJ is a better player than Kobe.
I am a die hard Suns fan.. i remember when my Suns were the two seed playing the 7 seed Lakers in 2006.. everyone was picking the Suns to win in four or five... I remember telling everyone that would listen..... "but they have Kobe Bryant!".. to most, including all the sports analysts, it didn't matter, the Suns were so much better as a team.. but I knew better. Kobe Bryant at that time was the most dangerous player in the NBA.. going into that series, I was terrified. I thought that the Suns could be the first two seed to lose to a seven seed in decades. And I was right almost, Kobe Bryant darn near won that series all by himself, took the Suns to 7 games! Kobe Bryant was the second most clutch player (Jordan being first) I've ever witnessed with my eyes. In my humble opinion, he is the second greatest basketball player in history. I know there is a Jordan vs LeBron debate.. but I agree with Shaquille O'Neal and Allen Iverson, y'all just going to pass Kobe Up!?! If I wanted to win a game 7 with all the chips on the line, I take Kobe over LeBron 10 out of 10 times. Kobe Bryant is an assassin... Not only is he the second greatest player that ever lived, but I don't think it's even close. LeBron James is definitely top five, but he ain't no Kobe.. as a Suns fan, I never once feared LeBron James like I did Kobe Bryant.

The fact that he was able to off the backboard dunk on 3 defenders multiple times in his career is crazy
Many players had athleticism and used that but Kobe worked to become great and I think his work ethic was head and shoulders over everyone else in NBA history. He never took a day off and stayed working in the gym and mastered the game. He is one of the most skilled players if not the most skilled player in NBA history in my opinion. Kobe was like an artist on the court because his ball handling skills and the way he moved around the court was art. His jumpshot and fadaway was like art, and it was amazing to watch Kobe for 20 years. Legends will never die, R.I.P. Kobe Bryant, you will be forever missed but NEVER forgotten.
That's why he was so dominant for so long. Kobe 8 was an attacking monster. Kobe 24 was a surgical assassin.
Love you man. Thank you for this.

I did not want to look at him because I knew that many tears would fall and in fact they did, but melancholy is in the company of his greatness.
Rest in peace Kobe always in my heart #mambaforever
There’s not a single player in the NBA today who wasn’t inspired by this man. Generation after generation of hoopers all because of him.
