When Charles made his debut I was 5 years old.. now I am 26 and the same guys (besides Shaq) are still on this show. As a 10 year on March 17, 1993, I went to a hotel conference room to listen to Danny Ainge speak to about 200 people. It was his birthday. Everyone was told beforehand that he wouldn’t be signing autographs or anything. As soon as it was wrapping up, Barkley comes walking in with a giant birthday cake all lit up with candles. It totally changed the atmosphere and they both stuck around and chatted with everyone and took pics. Pretty cool that they’re such good friends
Chuck always had that personality and hit the ground running on the show. Great chemistry with Chuck and everyone joking around and his comebacks. Great memories. They need to keep the crew and the show together somehow.
And now, 24 years later, Barkley is heading toward retirement as a broadcaster after next year, which will in all likelihood be TNT's last as one of the NBA's broadcast partners.

As a 10 year on March 17, 1993, I went to a hotel conference room to listen to Danny Ainge speak to about 200 people. It was his birthday. Everyone was told beforehand that he wouldn’t be signing autographs or anything. As soon as it was wrapping up, Barkley comes walking in with a giant birthday cake all lit up with candles. It totally changed the atmosphere and they both stuck around and chatted with everyone and took pics. Pretty cool that they’re such good friends

Ever since Charles Barkley came into TNT, the whole studio show format turned upside-down.
And now, 24 years later, Barkley is heading toward retirement as a broadcaster after next year, which will in all likelihood be TNT's last as one of the NBA's broadcast partners.
