  • VENICE BEACH, LOS ANGELES - On November 17, 2023, the City of Los Angeles carried out a cooperative initiative aimed at addressing the homelessness issue at Venice Beach. The operation saw the combined efforts of the Department of Public Works, Recreation and Parks, and Clean Harbors Environmental Services.
To ensure their safety during the cleanup, workers were equipped with hazardous materials gear. The Housing Coordinator from Councilwoman Traci Park's office played a pivotal role, streamlining communication among the involved city departments, which are tasked with overseeing homeless encampments.
The operation benefited from the seamless coordination of three specialized waste management teams, which handled the disposal of regular as well as hazardous waste. Additionally, the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) extended their expertise with on-site outreach.
Throughout the operation, the vigilant presence of Los Angeles Park Rangers proved essential in upholding safety standards and ensuring adherence to compliance measures.
The Venice Beach cleanup serves as a testament to the City of Los Angeles' comprehensive strategy to combat homelessness. Such endeavors emphasize the city's relentless commitment to addressing the underlying causes of homelessness and offering vital support to those affected.

That's the cities fault and the people who don't care to vote. The citizens have to demand investigations and for people to get help the prosecutor; if they're not doing their job then the people need to demand they give back their tax dollars; remind them they work for us; we the people. P. S. Newsome only cleaned it up for Xi anyway; then I'm sure it'll give back to destruction mode; unless the citizens stand up

If you think it's humane to allow people to sleep on the streets, you're dead wrong. It does the exact opposite. Living on the streets is just a jungle, drug availability, they turn into thieves, they harass people, they start slowly losing it. The best and humane way is to have no option but to go to a friend's house, a relative's, or going back to their hometown, anywhere where they can have help, emotional support, encouragement.

Here's what some of you that don't live here aren't aware off.
I've live here in Venice over 25yrs 4 blocks from the beach.
My husband is from here, born and raised here.
Back then there might be a homeless person that used to hang out by the liquor store.
    Everyone in the neighborhood knows.
There might be someone who is on drugs.
Now there are so so many of all, druggies, mentally ill, from drugs and etc, and I'm sorry to say I used to feel sorry for them, but I don't anymore.
Here's what so crazy about this, 95percent of these people aren't from LA.
They come from everywhere else, yet the ones that lived here, the ones that bought these million dollars homes, have to deal with these sick people.
They are so violent, they steal, they trashes our neighborhoods, us home owners here are so sick and tired of this nightmare.
Yet people say, oh LA is a disaster with the homeless.
No LA is full of the homeless because they come here, number one the weather.
They can survive here than anywhere else.
If they send all these people where they originally from, I'm sure the numbers of that homeless wouldn't be where it is now.
So for all you people that say LA is so bad with the homeless?
Sorry, majority of them are from everywhere else.
Put them on whatever and get them back to their own home towns.
It's discussing looking at them in our streets!!!!

re-posting here just in case my original post gets flagged by youtube, cancelled and deleted:
"First the city's democrat politicians created this mess during COVID by tying the hands of LAPD by suspending the city-wide ordinance that all tents must be taken down before 6am and that the homeless can't have more than what can be carried in a large painter's bucket.
Fortunately, when it was becoming too violent on the boardwalk, beach, local neighborhoods, and the merchants where suffering from theft, arson, and tourists avoiding Venice Beach, that the Sheriffs stepped in because they are not employed by the city's politicians, they are elected by the people to serve the people. That enforcement by a county law enforcement agency embarrassed the city's democrats, but the Sheriffs did quelled the increasing violence and theft to the locals in Venice beach.
Now that a new election cycle is approaching, the city democrats that first created this mess are now finally doing what the people here were asking them to do, so they can look like heroes and hopefully get re-elected. That's bullshit. To still have the same people that caused this mess to still be in power so they can rinse n repeat this political stunt all over again."
