- Getting some boards ready to make tongue and groove with the maple boards i milled 2 years ago. I am using the router to process the boards that had pretty rough edges. The jointer would take alot more passes.

FINALLY! An easy way to joint a very long piece of thin stock. what I was looking for. thank you!
Thank you! Let me know how it works out for you!
Ambrosia maple tongue and groove? That will look great. Making floating shelves out of the exact same thing and will give this a try!
I did a video with the end results...it turned out amazing! I love all the character ambrosia maple has. Thanks for watching!
Thanks
Can i do both sides on router? I dont have table saw
It will be hard to get a board that's equal width the length of it. If your router has a guide edge attachment, you could set it to the width you want and hold the guide to the first straight edge you routered.
Thanks for the video. You said that you used a string to determine if the board was straight, but you didn't say how exactly you accomplished that.
Thanks! I did a couple of videos on jointing the edge of boards. I must have shown it in those and not this one. Sorry about that! I used a chalk reel line. I picked a spot on one end of the board and snapped a line to the other side, picking a line that saved the most material and got me a straight from end to end. Let me know if that helps! Thanks again!
@@HermanWoodworks That makes sense thanks for the reply!
@@SeattleMarc i have a small Dewalt chalk line reel that stretches out to like 30 or 35 ft....just use a temporary chalk though and not the permanent stuff.
A fair amount of shaking visible but thank you!
