I watched earlier tracking/fusion and i was about to go back to them to go thoroughly over planar tracker but look at Casey over here actually making exactly what i was looking for
The moment when you're adding a Resolve Tutorial to a Playlist, when you're thinking: "I don't know how or when I would have use for this, 'cause I've got no time for that kind of hobby at the moment - but other than that I'll might need it later, the least I could do for that wizard of the most straight forward and also entertaining tutorials ever is give him one more view sometime in the future" - and you watch the video on the spot anyway and got entertained while learning something. I've only been doing this daily all day for a few months, and this is exactly what I need, but I'm lost because it seems like you started in the middle. I have some footage with a laptop, and I screen replaced it with a video. All is good until the guy in the video moves a piece of paper across the corner of the screen, and it goes behind the video I put on for about 30-40 frames, so I guess I'm asking if you have this complete video or could you do another one from A-Z thanks
😑....I just started using DaVinci last week. I have used Magix when I was in high school and up till last week was using Kinemaster for my RUclips videos. I thought I was pretty good at editing. Made a mask over tracker earlier today and thought it looked sick. Took 3 hours. My man here just did what I did in 5 minutes and it looks BETTER 😑😑😑. Good stuff bro I'm learning a lot. Still salty because I'm definitely redoing that whole clip with these instructions now. Liked and subed sir.
What about objects over included image as finger in this video, but without keying procedures? How can I tracked mask this finger and place it over image? All Davinci bloggers use keying and green screen. Made task more usual, no keying, no green screen.

Sometimes, my work area, while in Fusion, moves to one side, leaving a blank space and half my video off-screen. I know it must be something simple, but I just can't figure out how to centre it again. I would be very grateful if you could help. Thanks.
this is great, but I rarely have the luxury of a green screen on things I need to cut out; two issues I've had recently, maybe as ideas for new vids: 1/ how would you mask out that finger if there wasn't a green screen on the phone in the first place? if it were just a regular phone screen? tracking it is still easy, putting a cat screen on, too; but how do you mask out the finger? 2/ what if this was a longer vid, where for a moment the whole phone would go off the screen and then come back? 2 trackers in 1 file? same tracker twice? I did find a solution for this eventually, but it doesn't look as neat as yours usually do; so how would you approach this?
Without the chroma key, you'd almost certainly have to fall back on rotoscoping-masking out the screen with a Polygon tool and adjusting the mask as needed for each frame until it's "Good enough" for the project. (Awaiting someone more experienced than me to answer the second question about the tracking target going off screen mid-clip.)
Casey...sorry for the long comment. I am a youtuber and I have a video production company. I finally bought a black magic 6k camera and switched to DaVinci. I have a few issues however and cannot find answerers anywhere I look including watching all the divinci resolve training videos. I am very prolific in adobe premiere and AE and Audition. The problems I am having......in fair light....if you have a stereo track and the right and left channel do not record evenly....how do you balance the tracks on a stereo track. On audition this is very easy... on fair light impossible. second....in edit....once I link two tracks together, every time I make a cut the tracks unlink. This is very frustrating as you have to move tracks around and the audio will not stay with the video after a cut. Third....back in audition I can add a limiter to the tracks....say -9db and it cuts everything over that before I normalize and it will raise everything equally....kind of like finishing a professional audio track....in fair light it does not seem to work like every other audio software I have used. I have looked everywhere for these answers an no one seems to address these issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I eliminate resolve....which so far I love....and go back to adobe simply because of work flow. Thanks

YO, do you ever have video clips that lose sound during the editing process? They're MP4 clips, but after editing and clipping a a few things out, the audio goes out completely for the entire clip... Going nuts bro, don't know what's going on, but reloading the clip does nothing, it's like the entire thing is muted and I've got to restart the whole project. Thinking of rending each clip, then loading them up again and using the rendered versions to edit with.... Suggestions??? Great vid by the way!

I made a custom Like and Subscribe animation in fusion and saved as a macro to put in as a custom title. Whenever I try to use it in other projects tho the first second plays and then just a red media offline screen? Do you know how to fix this? Please help
I am pretty new to Fusion and I am working on a project in which I have to replace a few computer and phone screens. I've figured out the screen replacement well enough using the planar tracker and corner pinning, but I have a few moments where actors partially block the screens with parts of their body or their hands. What is the best way to go about masking out the covered portions of the screen so the actors remain in the foreground and don't suddenly seem to magically disappear behind the screen?
Easiest way is magic mask if you have studio version. If not, animated masks for the FG people and merge the original footage back over top of the screens.

Casey, have you done a video about importing rendered objects into a video. I ask because another RUclipsr did a video about how to make a Ghostbusters Proton Stream and I did it.....But now I have a proton stream and don't know how to add it to a video of my son and his proton pack. If you could help that would be amazing. I'm pretty new to Davinci and watch a lot of your videos to help me figure things out.
IIRC Casey's channel is one where I've seen the OBS icon in the taskbar when he shows the whole desktop for bits of some tutorials. Think there was even a "stinger transition" tut where he went to demo the result and wondered if opening a second OBS instance would even work (it did).
@@kriss_norde I'm sure the zoom is done in post. If the cursor is highlighted during recording, it's probably a script or external tool. (The only one who can tell you for certain is Casey himself, of course.)
When I switched from Premiere to resolve at first i was like: "Hgnuhh now i gotta find a new tutorial dude that teaches me stuff." Aparently for resolve that dude is a guy called Casey Faris, who makes stupid jokes in every video. But even though i was sceptial at first man have i already learned alot from you. Ive startes with davinci resolve but my audio is very choppy in post and cant seem to figur it out. Onlh in editing though
