If they had the chance, and somebody would of bought it, 3rd gen last of the naturally aspirated V6, With 10,000 miles and extras. That truck is practically bran new. Bottom line CarMax would of made out well with the resale. Don't make em like this anymore sad but true.

That’s what I was offered on my 23 trd pro with about 8k miles after I added $3k in extra accessories. They would sell it for close to $55k. Our TRD Pros are going up in price if anything. My neighbor wants it and he would pay me $50k today immediately if not more. I’m not selling it. It’s a keeper. I will get a new 4Runner trd pro eventually but I’m keeping the tacoma.

I’m really really really happy that I accepted their offer last March for $100 less than I bought it for 25 months ago (Dec 2021). It was a TRD sport manual black. They initially listed it at $44,998 and now they lowered it to $43,998. Based on this adjustment, I would say the purchase offer trend is going down.

My Tacoma is a 2008 TRD Sport 4x2 recently with 60000 miles....is a Silver color and runs like a brand new Tacoma has 16 years with me.....If I am you don't throw it out, stay with that Truck

I traded in my 23 Taco TRD Pro same color as your with 5k miles on it, and got $50,500 as a trade in, shopped around many dealers and 2 did offer 45k, and others offered between 47k -49k. Just shop around brother and be patient. My 2 hightest trade in offers were from the dealer owners that wanted the truck, and were willing to give more than what the sales managers would offer. Go on a busy saturday afternoon, and park your truck right upfront so it can get all the attention from the customers, and the dealer owners then see that. The dealer listed my Taco for 53,500, and sold it in 2 days

I bought my Taco TRD Pro for $49200, $3600 under MSRP, so I was happy to get more than what I paid for it, and traded it in for a 24 4Runner TRD Pro, and got that $1500 under MSRP, so I couldn't be happier. Just be patient and you'll win out. I finally learned that after getting screwed over several times on trade in from dealers
I just sold my car to Carmax. They paid me $2000 dollars more than other big car dealers offered me. While I was there I found a car I wanted to buy. Since I was selling and buying from them, they gave me $1330 dollars tax break, I ended up paying only few hundred dollars tax.😅

Still only paid $22K for it in 2020 when I bought it. If you look at used 2017 Tacoma prices they are going anywhere from 25K up to 34K. Way over priced by the way. It's worth about 18K max in my opinion.
I have sold 3 cars to carmax, in 1 occation they saved big time because i needed to get a car off my credit quickly, without them would've never been possible... they deserve to make a profit

A cash offer of 45k from a reseller isn't unreasonable. Obviously you can get more from a private sale. Not sure what you were expecting. Love your vids man! I wouldn't sell a 2023 TRD pro to Carmax right now but that's up to you. You have to figure that any reseller is expecting a 20% return on their investment as a minimum. Selling that truck to buy a 2024 for RUclips content profits is a loosing proprisition IMHO.

Hold on to your truck and keep it clean. It is already a collector's item. It will outlast the '24 Pro by hundreds of thousands of miles. Just look at what's gong on with the Tundra right now and all the other competition with their turbo 4 bangers. I grabbed my 2023 Off Road last year once I found one at MSRP because I saw this coming. No regrets. You've got a keeper my friend.

Seemed like a very solid offer to me. A vehicle is a depreciating asset. The market has come back down especially most recently.
Yeah it wasn’t the worst but the truck is already a collectors item. The last V6 Trd, pro and the exclusive, color, solar octane. I think I’ll just hold onto it for sure. They use a MMR (Manheim Market Report),value the system spits out based on demand and supply factors at the time you brought your truck in, and don’t be surprised if you see it for sales for the same time thereafter for $47,998. They are in business to resell, not to pay you KBB highest retail which you can do with a private seller! Resale on Toyotas are great, but buying new you always lose heavily in the depreciation, as you are paying dealer mark up regardless, not MSRP! When there isn’t a complete model change like those Tacomas for many years in a row, better to find the right selection on a used one in the condition you want. If your value isn’t there for you, simple…DON’T SELL! Get the use out of your truck! It’s a gem, to you…

My wife just traded in her ‘21 taco for a new Lexus Rex 350 hybrid luxury and we’re pretty happy with it so far. It’s sad that a new pro is almost the same cost as our new Lexus. I bet the new taco vehicles will mostly sit on the lot with their new prices.

I would keep any Tacoma with a V6. The new 4cyl ones are garbage. Test drove and walked out.

Carmax offered $40,700 for my 22 Pro with 11k miles. KBB offered $37.5. I kept it and put it in my garage and went and bought a new Jeep.

Ur truck is beautiful and I agree it's a 10!! But u have to understand the stealership has a lot of overhead expenses. U could easily sell your Taco privately and get closer to 49k. But you'll be dealing with people.... I recently traded my TRD pro tundra and regret it.... think about keeping what u have, u have a lot invested in it and you haven't even broken it in. Is your truck nice yes it’s nice,but dealers buy on book value. I think they were fair ,vehicles depreciation it high it goes down every day .

I have a 2023 Nissan Altima VC-T SR with 5k miles on it and I know CarMax would probably offer $23 thousand for it if that. I already know that they’re in the market of making money, not losing it. You won’t get what you’re asking for at CarMax, plain and simple.

You also have the TRD Upper Control Arms those are $1500, I just bought them. I would ask $51,000 but I would keep it. It's a beauty!! The V6 is better than the costly hybrid. Repairs on the hybrid would be costly. You could modify drum brakes to disc and your ride would be complete!

Funny how you think there should be a huge price difference between 10K miles, 15K miles, 17K miles, etc. Those are all in the same ballpark.

Note: CarMax also has less competition, some w/ their business model (kinda) went belly up, like Carvana. I sold them my Frontier during Covid.
Man I paid 51k otd for my 21 Lunar Rock Pro Tundra brand new with a 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty back at the end of 2020.

I think $45 is reasonable against their other models. I think $45 is actually high for the market overall. But yeah, they pay you 45, put 2 grand in cleaning and for marketing budget and sell it for 50 in an hour with their network. Every offer I've ever gotten from Carmax is high....which has been awesome and has saved me from having to deal with selling on my own. Which is a time consuming hassle. Their network is pretty amazing. Never bought a car from them, but sold 4 to them.

Hate to say it but for a 2023, 45k is more than fair considering the market right now unfortunately. If our market wasn't so bad it would be worth 45-58k. They would have to try and sell it for at least 50k to make any profit right now, and I doubt anyone would pay 50k+ for a 2023 trd pro at this point when the new 2024's are 55k-65k depending on the package
I think I would prefer a 6 cyl Toyota over the standard 4 cyl. The hybrid 4cyl is slightly tempting. They should have put the hybrid on the 6 with an 8 speed transmission.
