Listen not only did you handle it like a gentleman but it seems like the guy you dealt with in this video was genuinely a good guy.
The service manager was very good compared to most I’ve worked for in service in my career. Very calm and understanding
This is as good of an outcome as I have ever seen. Glad it worked out for ya!
BECAREFUL WITH WHO YOUR SHOPPING WITH BLACK PEOPLE GIVE Y'ALL MONEY TO ANYBODY U LOOKING FOR FAIRNESS Y'ALL NEVER SEE THIS AT A CAR DEALERSHIP
This is how you handle a situation like this, not trying to get over on anybody but also not willing to be a doormat.
Cool and logical always wins. Very uncommon nowadays.
Yes he has a very good attitude and can articulate his very well also! Hard to get over on them kinda people
The way the service manager talked and handled the situation was very professional and you coukd tell in his voice he truly cared. Those are rare in the dealership business. Thats why my old GM at a ford dealer that i worked for didnt like me much because i just couldnt lie and screw people over straight to their face
This is a common problem with dealerships. As a retired technician I have seen people being charged for chasing issues when the tech really didn't do the proper diagnoses. And the poor customer pays for a bunch of work, and it still has the same issue even though the service manager swears up and down they fixed it every time it was worked on like the customer is causing the issue to happen. I tossed in my shop towel so to speak sold most of my tools and got out. Hooking women and senior citizens isn't nice business practices. On 3 occasions shops tried to hook my wife they had no idea she worked in the Automotive Industry for 20 years nor did they know I worked in the industry for 25 years they got embarrassed.
Hence the free market, I only take my car to licensed mechanics I know that can warranty the work through a shop and guess what? It doesnt void your warranty that way.
My dad has had the same issues with dealership they put the wrong size brakes (too small rotors) on my R/T Magnum also
@@jamesbrickner5159warranty has nothing to do with parts that aren’t under warranty tho.
That’s because they thought you were gonna have them do the work on the new fuel pump. Then they wouldn’t of put in a fuel pump either they would’ve just put in a sensor and then charged you for a fuel pump.
@weldingjunkie that works great until you ask to see the part they replaced. That is required by law for this very reason unless it is a core which a fuel pump has none.
Dealers only care before your buy the car. After you buy you become a nobody
True, sold me a lemon and they totally ignored me after.
Not true I bought at 60,000 dollar dodge ram diesel, had a problem with it and they returned me all my money from day I gave the down payments & all the months I was paying my truck
@@obsdamian74 thats a 1 in a million
@joshmarauder good dealerships do this. It's more like a 50/50
Not true at all that only true if you buy from big auto group but if you go to a dealer that’s still own by a regular person different kind of service
I appreciate how well you handled this. Very respectful and calm. We need more men like you
Noticed the sign on the entrance door said "watch your step" ... probably should be "watch your back" lol
🤦🏽♂️😂
As a dealer tech and a human being, I wish all customers were like this. We're all human.. We all make mistakes. This guy was respectful about it and understood. Didn't go making a scene acting like a cry baby. What people don't realize is acting like this customer will get you much further, make people more receptive to hearing you out.
Bullshit… I brought a Nissan Murano to a dealer with check engine light they did diagnostic found a fault pre crash sensor on a bumper cost 2000$ and told me they have to replace it first before they can continue further… I told them they can go f themselves with that service… so don’t tell me you make mistakes as human by charging diagnostics fees
Depends. In this world you have to be a gangster and gentleman. I was at a Mercedes dealership in massachusetts that wasn’t my regular and I was More than patient with them. Far beyond I should have and they kept giving me the run around and charging me in full for parts and only giving me half of it saying its on back order. Finally I came in there giving them hell, respectfully and they smarten up, acted shocked and gave into my simple demands. Always be a gentleman, if they dont respect it you show them your gangster. Remember they will take advantage if you let em
@@DuraStopyou’re more than welcome to repair it on your own. How many times have you been to the dr and they miss diagnosed your ailment? It’s no different.
@@DuraStopand no. I wouldn’t expect you to eat the 2000 repairs you were referring to. A good shop would eat that.
@@crcdesign9886 As guy who worked in parts for a dealership, the warranty for stuff is a pain the ass. Car companies set up dumb procedures that has to be followed for stuff to be warrantied properly. To be honest i think the car companies just make it to where they make more money off the "proper" way to do it. aka procedure saying to replace $2000 sensor before continuing diagnosis. It came to a point that i got fed up with it that i just had test parts laying around to give to techs to see if it actually fixed the problems.
As a prior service director, I respect your way of handing this. Very professional 10/10
Sorry that you had to go through that! I think you got pretty far with the dealership. Shows how being polite and respectful pays off. Good job!
They not gone give him his money back unless he STARTS ASKING FOR BIGGER BOSSES
If they don't , It's a Easy Win in Small Claims Court. They Know this because, if He Files for the Max (5k in Pa I think it Is?), the Stealership loses money because they have to Pay an Attorney to Show Up and Fight a Clearly Lost Case. Plus his Video of the Service Mgr? Saying basically "Sorry, it's Our Bad, and we want to Make it Right" is Omission of Fault on the Part of The Service Department ,ie, the Stealership.
Much respect for keeping your cool. I would have lost my **** with them. I'm glad you got it straighten out.
I appreciate that 💯
I want to say the same thing ...Sir my hats off to you when they gave you the brush off.
Your are a much better man with more patience than I am....applaud the way you handled this
And that’s why you wouldn’t have got the issue fixed.
@@morganpowell94 Trust me my guy. I would have gotten my way. I take it people have always run over you? Grow a pair. Have a great day :)
I am a car guy and started working on car at 13 and became a GM technician at 18, this is good for people to know that you need to get a second opinion if you can and that any diagnostic you pay for that isn't correct should be reimbursed, you have help to show that it is possible and the right thing to do buy asking for your money back for improper diagnosis, even professional or so caled expects make mistakes, thanks for sharing this 🙏🏿❤️
Damnn he was trying hard to try to find a loop hole to void that shit 😂😂😂
I didn’t get that impression at all. I think the dealership service manager was a standup guy that was just trying to figure out what was going on. This guy walked in asking the dealership to give him thousands of dollars, I would expect the service manager to ask basic questions.
@Ariaga_II agree to disagree that's the beauty of it

Respect to you standing your ground and communicating it calmly.
Dealerships are incapable of lying 😂
🤦🏽♂️🤣
@BrendonsPov That's all FCA can do.
Ain’t that the truth.
@@hyojoonus I have had nothing but trouble with FCA.
No. They ARE capable of lying. They do it all the time. Every day.
Brotha, I am glad that you filmed and posted this video. In todays day and age, it seems like businesses operate on lyin’ and stealin’ and no longer with integrity and pride. We NEED more people to post vidoes like this to see the ways that businesses violate and even take a page out of your book to handle such negative situations in the calmest, most respectful manner, even when you have been wronged. So cheers to you; I am glad that you got most of your money back. It is a WIN in my eyes. But shame on that dealership. Get y’all sh*t together and train your staff better!!!
I agree, we definitely need to bring light to these situations and thank you bro❤️
@@BrendonsPov, you already know. I have STORIES about my NEWLY bought Hellcat Charger. LOL.
Never- NEVER!.. get any services done at a dealership. Their main goal is to con you and keep your vehicle coming back and drain you from as much money as possible. Find yourself a trustworthy shop/ mechanic outside of a dealership.
100% dealerships will rip you a new one all day! 🎉
You’re 100% correct .
They take business serious
Man it’s always back and forth with dealerships/shops,gotta wait to hear back from someone or for a resolution to the problem
Definitely a headache but thankfully we got it figured out
They hope u give up
These so called "technicians" are no more than lube techs. Real mechanics are not at the dealership, they have their own shops.
You're a classy guy . Handled the situation like a champ. Respect commands Respect. Sending love from Manteca ca.
They got me out $1940! Said my center carrier bearing was broken, charged me for a driveshaft and it was the rear differential! They wanted another $4000 to fix it and still haven’t been resolved, I fixed the rear differential myself so I want all mines back too! lol glad it worked out for you.
The thing is, they knew it was a sensor, but they were hoping to get you for the pump pretty common scheme that dealership shops will do
So why didn't they offer the sensor also
@@donnelmoss757 because op dont know whats hes talking about lmao
@@donnelmoss757 why would they offer the cheaper option? This place is shady for sure
@@donnelmoss757because they want you to keep bringing the vehicle back so that they can continue to charge you a ridiculous price just to hook up a device to it and diagnose something else that isn’t the problem so that you spend more money. They’ll do it 3-4 times before they “figure out” what’s wrong with it. The mopar shop that he brought it to were able to figure it out first try. So that goes to show you right there that the dealerships are scamming everybody. Which anyone with common sense should know that dealerships are all about scamming people.
Because they charge for a pump but just swap the sensor. Pump is way more expensive than a sensor.
I have heard for last 10 years dealerships make little or nothing on new car sales and most of their profits come from service department and used car sales . This dealership seems to have that new Dodge dealership software called make up prices as we go along . Did they think you were an idiot or just not care . They didn't read the service department memo that said don't try to overprice repairs by more than 75% . These people are thieves . Best of luck and God Bless you going forward .
Oh believe me they make money on selling cars lol
they make most of their money on new cars dude what are you talking about they don't make nothing if you pay in cash or bring a check from your bank but they make the money when you choose to finance through them
Calm cool and collected.. surprised and happy they actually gave you what you were due!
You conducted yourself with complete class, composure and respect. Clear signs you were raised correctly. Be proud bro. I, subscribing purely through that. Wish you nothing but success.
I appreciate that 💯❤️
Given the luck you were having....the G.M. was DEFINITELY sick that day. Glad it worked out and you handled it like a PURE PROFESSIONAL....WELL DONE💯 Also funny how a video you thought was boring and wouldn’t be viewed much, ends up being the most viewed video on the channel. Just subbed! Hope you and yours have a blessed one💯🙏
Gotta respect your patience and the way you handle it. 💯
💯 Yeah it’s not all for nothing mane this was a great learning lesson for everybody to learn from 🗝️

You said a mouthful!
CRAP 💩
Mopar is a joke! You can go fast with almost any car brand 😆
This was a great video we learned too from this situation so this isn't a boring video. The way you handle it big respect and good luck
You should get paid for the wrong parts and both diagnostics but you got to pay for the right parts and labor to get it fixed.
I’ve been an auto mechanic and heavy truck mechanic. I manage a fleet of 40 units now. When we send stuff out this his a HUGE frustration! We send out a dodge 1 ton and they charge us hourly to do a burn and let us know it needs new cans.
Or we send out a heavy truck for electrical diag. They charge us 400$ to do the same diag procedures we did at our shop. And tell us they don’t know what the problem is.
I'm so glad you got most of your money back.
I think it's important, keeps people honest, good video.
Service manager seemed like a good guy
This is how you get things done by being a gentleman. Good job on holding your cool.
I respect you though keeping calm… that took a lot man. You a awesome dude for that
They see you filming! This is great content
I’ve never heard of a restocking charge.
It’s bad enough that they are exorbitantly overcharging for every item and labor. They also feel it’s okay to make up charges to fleece you all the more.
I’m really glad you took the time to address this.
Imagine the backlash they avoided by doing the right thing.
Thanks again for your patience. It worked out well for you.
You handled this 100% properly I give you a lot of respect for the way you handled this you did it right my friend and you didn't bore anybody with this content this was good stuff my man. Somebody taught you that you catch more bees with honey and you did it right be well brother

Handled that well man 👏
brother don't buy Chrysler, Dodge , Mopar anything these days !
You handled this exceptionally well.
Brendons pov yea don't buy Chrysler dodge Mopar anything these days.
They thought they hit a lick. But yeah, there’s definitely give him giving him the runaround
Great glad everything worked out for you
Handled well by both of you!!!
Just caught your channel great job in getting any of your money back. Dealer ships are out for them selves
You handled this very well. Much better than I would have. For me I always get to a quicker understanding when the police come.
They owe you that other $400 and I would post this story in their google reviews with pictures of those receipts and one star and I bet they might see it your way.
Love how you got bro for the outtro
Thank you bro💙🛫
My 2 cents you came out very good. I’m totally surprised they paid more than the evaluation of the repair needed.
Way to stay cool , calm , and collected . G shit
You know it bro💪🏽
Respect for
Keeping your cool and the gm is sick hummmm
It’s not just mopar. It’s all dealerships
I had a problem with my clutch on my mustang under warranty. They gave me back my mustang with the tailpipes hanging below the bumper. They said they could not get the tailpipes back in the bumper cut outs 😅😅 I told them to put it on the lift then I showed them how to do it. 😅😅😅
I am going through the same thing with a Lexus dealership. I knew they misdiagnosed my vehicle because after two repairs less than a month still the same problem. Not sure what state you are in but here in California there is a Bureau of Automotive Repair where you open a case regarding automotive repairs. You may want to check your state. Hope things work out for you 🤞🏽Good luck!
Dang, I hope everything works out for you. I'm glad I recorded this because that's probably why they gave me some of my money back.
@@BrendonsPov me too sir! I think I may start recording myself.. Great video
BIG MAN, YOU HANDLED THIS LIKE A GENTLEMAN, THE RUN AROUND AGGRAVATION THEY NEED TO BE SUED, YOU DID ALL THE RIGHT THINGS, PEOPLE NEED TO LEARN FROM THIS VIDEO HOW MEN HANDLE THINGS,IM NEW TO CHANNEL
Most companies, especially stealerships, will limit the refund to what you only actually paid them. Good video.
Lol, never take your ride to the dealer in its warranty work.Try to take it to someone you trust if you can.
Definitely gonna do that to start with next time
I thought you had to?
@maxxbenzz7842 If you have a lease on a car, yes. But if you bought it. It's your car. You can take it to anyone you like.
@truthsetter5155 not sure I'm following the logic. If I buy a Jeep with a factory warranty, I would want a " Jeep " mechanic from a dealership to fix it. If he screws up, I keep taking it back until it's right, under warranty. If you take it to a private mechanic, Jeep could say you didn't need this or that, or he overcharged you, we aren't reimbursing you. Or does your mechanic get paid right from Jeep, and you don't have to deal with getting reimbursed?
@maxxbenzz7842 their are certified Dodge mechanics that can fix it. But if you have a warranty on any car. You're kinda stuck until the warranty runs out. Most dealers will give you a hard time if you let any other mechanics do warranty work. In some situations, not taking warranty work to the dealer will void the warranty.
How to present yourself so people actually want to help you get your problem resolved.
Around and around we go this guy is golden ,
Dude Thanks for posting this..🎉
This is everyday business for dealerships, service is where they make money.
Hats off to you for the calm way you handled this.
Good point about your Driveshaft install cost.
I've been there with you. I totally agree that you should not have to pay for a diagnose if it didn't correct the problem. Glad you got your money back. To bad you didn't get the $450 for the drive shaft. Could of been a lot worse.
You are very lucky to get anything. The way it works usually is if the work is done at the dealership they will have to give it back fixed but since you did it on your own usually you can bet that you will have to eat it. It tells me that you should give the dealership some credit and send them some business. You were a cool guy the whole time which helped you.
Nah it only works that way if you accept that bullshit
I’m going to say this. There’s two types of people who work on cars. A parts changer, and an actual diagnostic person. A parts changer is someone who just changes parts out without checking for multiple things that could go wrong in hopes of fixing what is wrong which is what 95% of Dealerships are. An actual diagnostic person actually knows what they’re doing and has done the same job at least once to another car of the same make and model, and doesn’t throw random parts at it hoping to fix the problem. Most shops are unfortunately parts changers as well, and you have to find one with a good reputation before spending your money.
Lmaoo the tech literally just put “no works” not even a couple short sentences of explaining how he came up with that answer but I woulda asked for my diagnostic refund after that 😅
A lot of techs need better training. Hooking up a laptop and guessing what’s wrong ain’t it no mo!
Giving u the run around. There actions show just tha
There should always be someone available to deal with issues. The dealership didn't close because of a sick employee. #neverwannareimburse 🙃
AwwMan I'm new to the channel but I think it's dope to see this video going viral after all your grinding on other videos.
Thank you bro🙏🏽💯
They did you right! Thats what was fair! Most places wouldnt have even done that, unless you returned the fuel pump that you purchased from them. So yeah, you faired well on that one. As you should have though! Good stuff.
DANG that diagnostic fee wasn't cheap. But I'm sure you weren't happy one bit once doing all of that pump work just for the same issue to still be occurring. Now that part would have sent me through the roof! You handled this super professionally and calmly though.
Allpar Garage does all of my builds on my cars, Jimmy is the Shiznit on Mopars!
I’m going through the same crap right now, I was told I had two broken head studs, I got a call that my ram was done came to pick it up still had to ticking sound. Then they tried telling me I now have a lifter problem, so yeah they miss diagnosed it so I am now trying to get my money back too all $1,495 cause I’m not dropping 16k on a truck worth 10k to do lifters and cams
It’s not their fault they just don’t know anything besides selling and basic oil changes which is why I take my wrangler to a off-road shop glad you got it worked out
That's such a stupid thing to say. THEYRE TRAINED TECHNICIANS, THEY HAVE NO EXCUSES TO NOT KNOW ANYTHING.
@@jake51515 ok well go to a dealership and find one where every employee actually knows what they are talking about
back in the day, LCD screen went out on my wife's challenger , car had maybe 10k miles on it.... took them 4 months to replace it, after *4*visits at the dealership.
Car was under full warranty! worst experience ever! also the dealership supposed to cut me a check because I refereed my dad to buy A Jeep, well when I asked, referral no longer was valid.
That’s wild 🤦🏽♂️
Yo, my brother in law is a service manager for a big dealership. I had him watch your video. He said the dude is lying. If the dealership is fully open, then a GM is Always there they have to be to sign off and do payouts. Js get a lawyer and they will have to pay you even more he said. 😂
That is weird because the same thing happened to me last year. Unfortunately I ended up selling because they gave me the run around..
I think you got very lucky they even covered that working in Field Service on Hospital equipment if you buy the parts that is on you. if you have us work on it and we change out fuel pumps and that does not work then put old ones back in and find the next thing down the line and see if that is it. However I never start with the most expensive item when it is billable trying to take care of the customer.
Had it been diagnosed properly it wouldn’t have been nowhere near 4K dollars
what DTC’s were in your car? I’m a Chrysler tech I’m goin look up diag procedure through our dealer connect and see what steps are said to do, cause chrysler provides information on what to test in very specific steps for most codes, so I wanna try and find out if he actually threw the parts cannon at it or if he actually went through the necessary steps to gather the data, either way his diagnostic was incorrect.
I'm glad to hear you got anything back in most cases you don't
Rumour has it the Manager is still off to this day with the squits. 🤣
i see you aint posted in 3 weeks. with numbers like this on this video and another i peeped, you gotta stay consistent 👀 rooting for you
No more. I build all my speed rods and drive an old ass Lexus LS460. Glad you got it worked out. Stealerships are vicious.
Drama led me here 😂 I’m glad you got your money back.
I guess I’m lucky!! I took my mother’s car to the dealer of manufacturing. The car would not do 50 mph. The mechanic supposedly plugged into it with computer and diagnostics came back nothing wrong with it. Did research on the internet I figured it was a sensor. To it to parts store got the part. Around $40.00 drove perfect. I can’t believe they gave your money back.
Find a local mechanic whos honest and provides great work! Those dealerships are some SH!T
Man I feel your pain . You can never get into a dealer for any kind of service or repairs. Half of the technicians are under train or lazy and take short cuts. With miss diagnosis. Call ram care Corp. Then u get response
Handling it like a nan, getting proper results. Too many guys would have gone in and raise hell and gotten nothing but shown the door out. Respect

Good vid on a serious issue.
I thought I had given up on MOPAR after buying our new 1985 LeBaron GTS. A decent car but dealer/factory support was dismal. Usually repaired GTS myself or went to our favorite independent shop.
Fast forward to 2020. We buy a new 300S 5.7L - little has changed. Decent car, but have had to rely on my favorite independent Mechanic to fix some minor issues warranty should have covered, but the dealer charged me anyway without fixing anything.
Wow,there are a total scam, great video keep going from Canada ❤
Thank you bro💯❤️
I think that you were very polite and reasonable with your request and the way you went about it. I felt sorry for the guy who was waiting for his manager to return before he could make the decision. You held your nerve and never were nasty to him. All in all i think you got a good result, were you pleased with it? Thanks for sharing and enjoy your Jeep👍
New thru this situation back in 2015 forcing me to get back into diagnosing and doing electronics with cars.
Dealer mis diagmosed air bag sensor after I got the sensor and replaced it the light stayed on even when service information said sensor.
Asked just for diagnostic fee to be returned and they countered with well diagnose the issue and wanted me to pay for addl diagnosis. I told them to pound sand and did it myself (broken wire in harness). Now I do keys and some module issue for the same dealer when they can’t figure stuff out. Lol….
I was running out of time for leaving town for a month, I had diagnosed that my car fuel pump is not working through electrical testing, I had spoken to the dealer and they laughed when I said to change the fuel pump, they said it was my after market starter why my car wouldn’t start or my ignition system, laughing off my diagnosis. They would have wanted close to three or four grand to not fix my car if I had went with what they said. I went to the scrap yard and picked up the fuel pump for $16. Low and behold my car started snd worked flawlessly again. Just goes to show that they don’t always know what they’re talking about and they think when you tell them something they think the owner is stupid. The only reason I brought it in was because I was short on time. Anyway I managed to squeeze that in the evening before I left.
Yes, given u the run around.

Closest I come to a jeep or Chrysler product was my '06 Mercedes S430. I put a starter in it and two tires. Cost around $7,500 so far. Had it for two years already. Had a 2002 ML500 sport package before that, and always waiting for Jeeps to get out of the way when off road.
