You can still purchase the pistol in CA but it will be shipped with either inert or powder rounds. On their site there is a list of states that the company doesn't ship live pepper rounds to.

With the size of this, you could carry a Glock 17. It is by design size, weight and ergonomics similar to the G17 the most common duty firearm. Just a couple hundred bucks cheaper

so the mags hold the rounds and the co2 so you can leave the mags loaded and only puncture when you put it in the gun correct?
