One thing to note regarding the "twist" function of the magazine is that you can remove the magazine to reload without losing much CO2. While I am not aware if the competitors can do that too, I like being able to use up to two additional reloads before losing much pressure and having to change out the cartridge.
Mine was also manufactured 11/18. Batch buddies! Really impressed with this launcher, it is really big in my hands - dwarfs my Byrna SD - but it does pack a punch. I know people like their slap punctures but the feedback a twist puncture provides is still really good and helps you confirm positive pressure inside the launcher. I don't think one is inherently better than the other, and like you said in the video, you do need to be practicing with your launchers either way.
I took my Sabre apart to look inside. It's held together with 6 allen head screws. There are only a few springs to watch out for. I was going to dye it but then realized the pan I dyed my HDR50 was too small. I reassemble the launcher and will get a larger disposable pan tomorrow.
Did you end up getting it done. I dyed mine black today. Had a little bit of trouble getting it back together but it appears to function as it should. The back safety makes a click when I press on it now, I can’t remember if it did before.
@Dadulting Yes, I dyed it. Looks and works great. There is no sound with the back safety, only when I pull the trigger when not loaded I hear a click. As long as it works it should be fine.
Another cool video, brother. For the price point,it looks like a solid launcher for those on a budget needing a less than lethal defense option. The sights and grip safety are nicely designed. The twist to pierce is ok, just take’s practice, or leave on night stand until ready. I am not loving the yellow. I can understand in those certain States, I don’t live in one of them. So if I ever purchased one, it would be part of the house security set up, or if I ever had to visit one of those States. Still, I like it.
I've said from Day 1 of having my Byrna that groin and knee shots are always on the table. The head I'm a little hesitant about because head shots are hard to make under stressful situations as well as hard to hit when the person is moving. As a vet you know what I'm talking about from your own combat training. If you can make the shot, go for it, but center mass and legs are much easier to hit. That Saber look great and it'll be interesting to see it dyed a more subtle color if you go that route 😋
We had 3 criminals break into a home in Rochester, NY last week. They were armed with knives and a gun. The homeowner ended up repelling the attack with a knife and put one of the attackers into critical care. I am 100 percent for trying to preserve life and reduce injury as everyone is someone's son/daughter. However, unless you train frequently and for multiple scenarios, you're going to take head, groin, spine; whatever strikes present themselves. As Jon said, Sabre is doing a legal CYA by including that info about what areas on the human body to avoid.
I've been thinking about getting a pepperball launcher as a replacement for my taser (I just can't afford $40 per shot) on my security duty gear. Aside from the size, this looks like a reasonable option. I actually like the yellow, since for professional purposes, having my less lethal look very different from my firearm is a good thing. That said I'm currently most interested in the Pepperball TRP for size and ease of integration into an already heavy loadout. However I'll definitely be interested to see if Sabre comes out with a more compact version of this system at its much more affordable price.
I cant belive amazon took my order after so many times of not shipping this kind of item!! I have made volume knob like add ons for my twisters. NOW... are you going to take it apart?😃

Greetings! Thanks man! The Sabre is a .68 cal and so far I’ve tested the plastic, polymer, aluminum, and pepper rounds through it and they’ve all fired perfectly. :-)
I do. Its more a matter of internals and build quality. Byrna, Grimburg, Pavashot, Paradigm, PepperBall, and Umarex take a lot of care to build good products. Unfortunately, with quality and innovation comes a cost.
You need to look at Tippmann TiPX Magfed Paintball Pistols No air up need 7 balls 2 mags. its on my night stand 25 meter shot to spot them steeling my cars
@@AlternateArmsSD Wait a minute, how's 14 rounds possible on a single Co2 cartridge? The magazine only comes with 7-round capacity and if were to release the magazine to reload more projectiles, then the Co2 Cartridge would automatically release gas since it's connected to the magazine and it's punctured from the time you twist the knob.
New to this. So does this mean the c02 cartridge is single use? Or does it somehow seal when removing the magazine?
