I'm writing this so that viewers don't get confused. Calling "logo design" brand identity is a modern common mistake. Logo design is not brand identity, it is a part of it. Brand identity is a bag of multiple assets coming together to create the visual portion of branding. Branding, being a strategic branding and identity branding - one is the plan, while the other is the visual representation. I'm sure this video is great, and this comment isn't intended to take the video's validity away, but only to educate those who may otherwise become misinformed as to what the term, "brand identity" means. Phenomenal video and phenomenal tips. I'm not a designer or much of a creative by any means but the mood-board really jumped out at me and small tips like designing in black and white I can see making such a big impact on anything I try and do. 10/10. Thank you.

Should do a video exporting logos in different formats and black & white versions of the logos as well. Sometimes I be confusing myself when doing it lol
Hey, I recently stumbled across your channel and I honestly feel like this is one of the best channels I have found for learning Illustrator! You do an amazing job of explaining things in clear, easy to understand language but more importantly you demonstrate practical applications for each thing you talk about. I have learned more about Illustrator from you in the past few days than I have in the past year or two from any other source. I have noticed sometimes there are things you do that I have to add an extra step to, and I am not sure why. For example, sometimes when I click on the direct selection tool, I can not move any anchor points until I hit the shift button and click the anchor. I never see you do that, is there a setting or something I am missing?
As a follow up, there are a lot of things you do quickly without really talking about that I would love to hear how you are doing it. You will create blocks and put pictures in them and the block becomes more of a 'frame' or a 'window' only allowing you to see the part of the picture in the block. Or I have seen you create color boards to sample from and quickly move those around. I am not sure how you do that either. This is all probably fairly basic Illustrator stuff, but with your ability to explain things in easy to understand terms I would love to see you cover how you do some of this stuff.
Thank you so much for the kind words, I really appreciate it 😊 glad to hear you've been enjoying the videos and finding them useful! I will note down what you said and make videos explaining how as it's difficult to explain over a comment. (more like Adobe Illustrator tool tutorials)
@@abiconnick Thank you for the response! I would love to see a video over the tools, but I think what would make it really work is the practical applications of them. Pretty much would love to see a second version of the "5 tools I use all the time" video (or whatever it was called) showing a few of the secondary tools and/or the basic functions of the ones you already covered... if that makes sense. But I am also playing catch-up on a lot of your videos so maybe you already did this and I just haven't found it yet! For example, I have seen multiple videos over the Pencil tool but never even bothered to use it because it seemed completely useless until I saw how you put it to use.
As this was just a passion project I got them from google, but if this was a real product I'd have to source them and a commercial license from websites like istock and pexels :)

Hi Abi! I’m loving your videos. Where can I find the link you were talking about where we can edit fonts?
Hey 👋 thank you! Much appreciated 😊 sorry I’m not sure I understand, are you referring to another video of mine?
Thanks! It was helpful ❤
You're welcome 😊
Hi, I know this is a super late comment but I just wanted to say, love your videos. They've helped me a lot more than going to design school even did :') I was hoping you could help me out, I was wondering what tool it is that you use when smoothing out lines from the pencil tool? The cursor seems to go a bit circular, I've been trying to figure it out myself but had no luck
So glad to hear this! And it's the smooth Tool 😊
