I don’t think any drummers from this generation or even from 20 years ago, has the fire and stamina of Lars Ulrich of the 80’s and 90’s. Lars was a beast from 89 to 99. and he is still playing hard and fast until now! saw Metallica play live back in 2018 and they are that fucking good! they stood the test of time.

Ever since Lars thought his drums sounded low when the final production was played for Lars and James on the Justice album. I can imagine what Jason's thoughts were like after the "Turn the bass to audible, where you can barley hear it." moment happened.
Newsted has a better head on his shoulders than I do. I probably would have gave them the "You're #🖕!" gesture, then quit. But I'm glad Jason stayed on for the next decade, which I think is MetallicA's best sounding years. Not best music, best sounding. And I hate Jason quit and went on and did what he wanted to do. But I'm also a MetallicA fan, and I don't have to hate the band just for a bad decision by the main 2 guys. And I think James and Lars really, genuinely, and honestly felt terrible about the whole hazing fiasco. And at least they gave him a spot on stage and in the RRHoF. Though that is a joke in itself.
With Jason in vocals the musics like Seek & destroy are better!
The best version of this track. Jason incredibly bad ass vocals. And James, man what a front man. Has the crowd in his hands the whole way through the show interacting with between every song. So many bands just play songs back to back with no interaction with the audience.
Also I never realised Jason was the first to cut his hair ✂️

I love 90s Metallica. It really was the prime of the band! I love how they chose to move around the stage and actually put on a SHOW rather rhan stand there and play the songs precisely how they sound on the record. This tour in particular is my favorite era because the band did so much different shit and had fun at every single show. You can tell they really love their jobs and I wish I had seen them during that era.

I was there in this concert in Mexico City 93 at the Sports Palace which was an enclosed dome at the time, which is now closed to the public. Bro you had to be there because this was MetallicA at its very best! They were at their peak and they were Raw, Mean, Drank beer on stage, Barked at the microphone and yes they used to cuss and say bad words on stage, which they don't anymore because they all have families and kids now. lol
Anyway the sound was so loud because it was an enclosed (Dome stadium) That when you came out of the concert all you heard was your ears ringing and couldn't hear anything else. This was the best fucking concert I have ever been to! After that concert I bought my ESP Explorer like the one James is using in this concert and I still have it!

+TheBlackScyth I still enjoy his playing but its not as good as it once was. This set was amazing with the jam in the middle. He still has his moments. Through the never movie was good, also check out Fight Fire with Fire Mexico City 2009.

Wow I’ve been listening to the audio for years, didn’t know there was a video. this rocked!
Actually. what is cool is the video is from a different night then the audio recording but these are virtually synced up. From the fan interactions to music. There are a few parts when they don't line up. When he's introducing Lars and the video doesn't sync with him or when he's in the stand and says "you having fun man? Cheer up fuck." He doesn't have the mic to his face. Just shows they did this same routine and they almost were in sync with each other. Awesome.

Interesting tho is even tho the audio and video are from 2 different recordings they are virtually in sync with each other besides a few moments like when he is in the crowd and says "you have fun man, cheer up fuck" and isn't actually talking at thay moment but also when he says "why the fuck you? You gonna give it to ke good here" that syncs up. Just goes to show that they did this nightly at the time and pretty much everything was planned out. Still awesome either way.
