Oh I'm so glad I found this video. Thank you for making it! Had new LVP installed a week ago and scratched the everloving heck out of it when I moved my fridge back into place. Heartbroken to say the least. But this did a great job of covering up the scratches.
I got new lvp and moved my fridge and hello huge triangle scratch 😢😢😢 somehow installers or my mom didn't think lets put floor protection under 😂😢😢😢😢
Thank you for this! We naively put a long scratch in our brand new LVP moving the furniture back in place. Our floor has a multi-color pattern, so I tried markers with no great match. I ended up just scrubbing firmly with the recommended Scotch-Brite pad and going straight to the wax. You now have to look for the scratches! 😃 Thanks again for saving us a bit of heartache!
I did the same thing last night. Brand new floor I just put in and scratched it when my vanity came off the cardboard while sliding it! Dammmiiitt!

Oh my goodness, my husband and I just did this very thing. We are devastated. I hope our results are just as good as yours.
I'll add to the list cardboard under fridge sliding it out the front door. Somehow it still scratched the flooring. List video does make me feel confident in being able to fix. I got most of it to blend in with just WD40 and a microfiber. I will try this method.

This is a great video for scratches, but would you know how to repair a small chip in Luxury Vinyl Plank? I really would like some suggestions.

I did exactly the same thing. I had furniture sliders under the fridge. One slipped and put a scratch. I'll try it. My floor is gray. I hope I'll find a stain to match it.

This didn't really work for me. Bought the exact same products, used one that matched my LVP, and the scratches are still quite obvious.

The hard part is choosing the right stain
As a contractor definitely save a few pieces of cut offs and cratch them and use them as test pieces!!
Have really light laminate floors with some hollow spots. Tried to solder with floor pieced but it got black even if i just tapped. Wonder if repairkit with floorwax would work instead?
I love how these are supposed to be scratch proof and I wanna know how that is? When light stuff scratches it
Scratch resistant, not scratch proof.
@@cronut7113 They are not even that, the old vinyl sheet flooring was much more resistant then this new planks

Try Roberts Floor Putty you can get it at Home Depot and other places.
What happens when you wash the floor? You have to redo it after every wash?
My guess would be maybe not every wash , but close to it. This is paste wax beinf used which means it does not get hard. Eventually it is going to be washed or worn away. I got a couple of those sanding sponges and tried removing some scratches in an inconspicuous place. It worked. Just don't get real aggressive or you will sand down past the decorative layer.This worked for me can't guarantee for any body else because it depends on how aggressive you are and how thick that top later is.
What color stain did you use?
It says Weathered Oak 270 on the can.
Do all hardwood floors scratch
They can or will, I grew up with hardwood as a kid and put laminate in a condo as an adult.. Vinyl plank flooring scratches waaaay easier than hardwood or laminate.

So sorry I bought LVP. It is too soft and you will be "fixing" scratches until you get rid of it.
