This was very helpful. Thanks Jimmy!
Great tips! I personally love the title of this video!
Great lighting tutorial. Thank you.
Awesome! I teach a high school photography class and I only have two strobes, I have three classes with two having 35 students and one with 15 so they have to work in groups and share. This is going to help me a lot! I appreciate you sharing your tips!!
Keep up
The great tutorials--high value info for sure!!!

Hello Jimmy Fox, thank you so much for your video I have been pulling my hair trying to get this total white background and with your set-up works few a little adjustment it happen OMG thank you, you're the best I'll be following you. Super great without a lot of la la. clean and to the point just way I like.
Thank you for the tutorial! ^_^ this really helps me to shoot my product for my tomorrow’s photoshoot session especially with the lightbox manipulation 😄
Good video. Where did you get your backdrop?
Thanks Jimmy! Great video. :)
Looks amazing. What do you use in backdrop to make it reflective? Is that a glossy paper?
Very well explained. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing lighting tutorial
Wow thank you for this!! 💕🙏🏻
Great tutorial. Quick and ez to understand.
May I know which soft box and studio light you were using? Thank you
Great video! Could you provide a link to the backdrop you’re using?
very nice tutorial. i like it so much:D can't wait for more:)
If you want a photography channel, don't pollute it with unrelated material, no matter how excellent.
Great video Jimmy. Keep it coming.
Thanks for the super informative video. I was wondering if the picture is even affected by the continuous light coming from the soft box or is it just the strobe that lights up the object?
Its only from the strobes. Camera set at 1/125 f/16 Iso 100. The ambient light would not affect the shot
Thank you, nice tutorial, and beautiful backdrop btw !
What would be the best light setup for me considering that I'm shooting video reviews of fragrance bottles on a desk ?
Great video Jimmy. What is the type of material you used for that shooting table (I know it comes in different colors too) and the white underliner? Thanks for any input!
Excellent tutorial. As a learner it helped me a lot. Thanks again.
Very clear and easy to understand. How high is the softlight set?
It was about 1.7m off the ground, but feel free to vary the distance and height to get the results you're looking for!
Excellent sir. But may i know where that flash when you take a shot come from?. Coz what i know you only use one light from that softbox
The softbox is the flash, it has what's called a modelling light which just acts as a normal light so you can see what you're doing. Once you take the photo the modelling light turns off and becomes a flash/strobe. I hope that helps :)
Great tips!
excellent information! Thanks for that.
This is helpful!
very good channel thank you
Great work
Grat video. Right to the point. However it would be nice to learn how you set your camera and lens info. Thank you.
Awesome video, simple and direct to the point. May I ask what kid of material is your backdrop? Thank you!
Its a standard laminate sheet - the stuff carpenters glue to carpentry
Thank you! I will check ebay.
Been looking for solid color ones but I've only been able to find patterns. Where did you get yours? Thanks!
We're based in Singapore and got ours from a local supplier. You might have better luck looking at hardware distributors!
good one! thanx for sharing
does that work for any softbox? Like a hexagon one too?
this is fokin great, thanks man
Hahhaha Thank you
Great tutorial! Very informative
Is there a benefit in having rectangular soft boxes for certain product photography? i.e. for rotation?
That shutter sound >
Good Tutorial. Thanks.
Awesome video
you are using continuous light right? why do we see a flash when you push the trigger?
thanks a lot very good information
Amazing job Sir, thanks
Thank you for your kind words
thanx for sharing!
Thank you my good sir
what type of stand and backdrop are you using?? its a great color
Genuine question here! What purpose does the flash on the camera have when you take the photo if there is a softbox facing the product already? Thanks!
There's no flash on the camera. There's only one soft box for lighting.
@@Calibrepics Oh! So it’s the light in the soft box which flashes brighter for a second? The constant light is just a ‘guide?’ Thanks!
@@Zondaa The flash is a broncolor studio lighting. The constant light is a modelling lamp to preview lighting effect, its not meant for exposure.
You are great. Thank you
helpful - easy to follow.
Your assistant is Justin Wong?
Cool video
Great! To the point! Thank you
So good! Thank you!
Thanks, so helpful ! :)
You're welcome, it was our pleasure!
Very Profesional tutorial! Ths!
I like this guy. he gets to the damn point!!! I hate RUclipsrs useless banter.
Hi jimmy, do you have a video that describes the type of camera I need and the basic lights i need to get started with product photography?
You can start off with a macro lens but really, if you're not shooting closeups or small items, a zoom lens is adequate. Lights wise, start with understanding natural light like window lighting. If you intend to use artificial lights, start with basic lights like household lamps.
Thanks.
This was foking great😅👍
do you have anything for shooting people in a lower light? i Have a 150wt cfl octagon soft box.
Hi Jimmy, How powerful is your mono light, how many watts? Thanks for sharing!
Maybe an odd question, but what are you using to make the silver card reflector stand up? Can you explain this? It looks as though you bring in some type of small support, but I don't see how it is fastened to the back of the reflector. Thank you.
Its a wood block with a rubber adhesive to hold the card to the block.
Thank you.
Those are Broncolor studio flash units. Not continuous light. The background is your standard 4x8 foot laminate supported by a pair of C stands with an aluminium rod. Thats a small Chimera shallow pro plus softbank. Thanks for all the views and comments. Sorry for the late replies.
what is the softbox size
Jimmy, Can you please tell me where you bought the formica and also the stand to hold it in place? or what you used please respond.
You can get the formica or laminate top from any large home furnishing DIY shop or one that specialises in furniture cut wood. A aluminium bar attached to a pair of lightstands w superclamps
Most laminate supply shops offer a large range. A c stand or a pair of regular light stands secured with a pole or bar would do the trick. With Super clamps and A clamps.
thanks nice video, very helpful! ;)
Can someone tell the backdrop material type?
Thank you

What wattage is the lighting?
Its a Broncolor 3200ws pack but lights were set around 600ws
Where can I buy this backdrops?
You should be able to get this from your local wood supply shop
What kind of flash did you use? Title says one soft box, a bit confused.
The flash head was a Broncolor Pulso G. The modifier was a 90x120cm Chimera Softbox. Hope this clears up the confusion! :)
Calibre Pictures & Ideas thanks for the clarification.
what kind of paper do you used for the background ?
Thats a piece of 4x8 feet laminate. Also known as formica in some places. Its a coated wooden sheet.
Calibrepics thx broo
whats the table he is using called?
I wanted to see the exact position of silver paper stand , couldn't see it properly due to camera on the way.
The silver paper acts as a fill light facing the shadow side of the product
This is good....
Thank you! We have a new video coming up in the next 2 days…. stay tuned
Yes i will and i order your videos in here ! =)
Still relevant in 2020
Thank you for your kind words. We will be creating another one light video soon.
