- After 80mm of rain I hit up a creek that hasn't seen water in months, and It was really flowing. With plenty of water to finally highbank, the results were surprising.

A good day in the bush, with a golden bonus to finish with!! Thanks for sharing Pete👍👍👍
It was great to get out after the rain, good timing to actually have good water to highbank and get some gold. Cheers mate 👍
Wow that's heaps of water and those chunky pieces of Gold look amazing, definitely need to head back before the water goes! Thanks Pete, awesome video 👊😁🤟
I'd say the water would already be gone, it's a bit like Craigieburn, flows while it rains and then it's gone, but that bench needs a lot more attention. Cheers Brothers 👍
Fantastic Pete! Got to love moving dirt and washing rocks. Good to see so much water in your area for a change. Especially in summer. See you next year. Cheers and thanks for sharing your adventures. 🏞
Thanks Steve, it was good, it's been a long time since my last highbanking session, but if I went back, I bet the water would be all but gone, there's no water holes near it, so that's a bugger, I might have to go and collect a trailer load and give it a wash. Cheers mate 👍
Geez that river sure is flowing after all the rain!! Good to see some gold in the pan. Well done mate 👍👍
It was flowing pretty hard when I got there, but it had died down a lot by the time I had left, probably not flowing at all now, it was good to give it a go though. Cheers mate 👍
Well done! Nice gold
Thanks Chris, it's not often that creek flows, so I had to jump on it after the storm. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it. Cheers, Pete
@@PetesGoldAdventures definitely 💯
Dang Pete,I could see that baby from 5-6 feet away, good job man,not a bad take for a quick high banker session. Thanks for the video Pete.
Thanks Morgan, I was surprised to see those two in there, that spot will require another visit next time it rains, when ever that happens, all good back on the 6000 in the new year. Cheers mate 👍
That was a cool video too, tons of water, back on the high banker but the 6000 and nugget coil have been crushing it too, really cool to watch.@@PetesGoldAdventures
GO Pete !!⛏⛏⛏
Cheers mate, thanks for watching. 👍
Awesome stuff 😎
Cheers mate, thanks for watching 👍.
Amazing weather at the moment, hopefully calm down soon. Great setup Pete
It's been a little crazy, summer might arrive before it's over, it's been a cool one so far. Cheers mate, have a great New Year.
Good to see the creek running well and you got lovely colour from it - i heard 36mm fell Sunday arvo after i headed back - Happy 2024 ⛏️😃
We had about 80mm here by boxing day, so all the creeks would have been flowing, but the water soon runs away, but I took advantage of it while it was there. Have a great New years, cheers Pete
Nice bit of colour there Pete. That little creek sure is flowing! It was a decent bit of rain had! Cheers Lee.
It was a good result for a couple of runs, but there was some test pans in there as well which added to the total. We had about 80mm, and I went out straight after the rain boxing day, so the little creek was raging. Back on the 6 next week and hopefully some big gold 🤪 cheers mate 👍
@PetesGoldAdventures that's the go, it filled my tanks up so I was happy with it👌
Классная промывка для золота,удобная вещь, Удачи Пит ❤️❤️❤️👍
Спасибо, приятель, промывка золота и банковское дело - отличные способы найти золото и развлечься.
Приветствую, Пит
Not bad at all pete well done cheers mate 👍
Thanks Shannon, it was good to get the highbanker out again, it's been quite a while. Cheers mate
Great time to high bank, still water around so I might get the pan out myself 👍
For sure it was, as soon as it stopped raining on Boxing day I was out, the creek was flowing a little too good, but all good in the end. Cheers mate
Hi Pete, good stuff.. My ears pricked up when I heard black clay.. I have found some unbelievable deposits sitting directly on top of black clay.. Ultimately what I look for is that rusty gravel with large rock , quartz then the black clay.. I assume the black clay represents a fire event … after fires , with heavy rain you often get erosion and this can help concentrate .. I’ve found this layer in a few creeks and rivers and every time it’s a winner. The gold can often be full of ironstone and dirty / rusty.. The other layer the old timers chased was the white cement.. glacial activity .. In my area there also seems to be a connection with topography .. between 160 - 180 ft there are some nice cement sections under basalt and huge wash .. if you are lucky enough to find these areas or even where the old timers have worked.. great spots to detect their throw out piles. 😜✨✨⛏
Hi Adrian, Unfortunately I didn't do well on that bit of black clay, but the side I got the best gold appears to be a dip in some tan coloured clay, with bigger gravel. That creek doesn't hold water, so to do a bigger run I might have to collect some gravel and wash it in a dam. But as I'm digging I might run the 6000 over it at the same time, just so I don't miss any bigger bits, as the 6 would have picked up both of those little pickers. I have some area's around here with a cap of congolmerate and great gravel below that holds gold, great to wash, but a pain to collect. Good luck with you prospecting in the new year. Cheers Pete
@@PetesGoldAdventures cheers Pete you too. 😜
Well done for a few hours, I managed to get out for a full day up my local. 😢 not my best day up there. Found a bit , but not as much as you! Cheers mate have fun fishing. ❤it 😊
Just as long as you had fun and got a bit of colour, all's good. My spot could be good, I didn't expect a couple of good pickers, I did a heap of test panning while i was there (up coming shorts) and got some reasonably good colour. Got a 58cm cod and a 46cm yella and a heap of carp, so it's been good. Cheers mate 👍
I did a vid of a weigh in for you, 0.7g for 16 hours! It all adds up
Done well mate, that's a nice result 👍
It is hard ground, lots of rock, boulders, zero indicators. Not like anywhere else I have been. No clay, just lots of rock
Great video Pete. A few hours in the bush, and finding gold what could be better. All the best for 2024 and hopefully you get some nuggets on the way. Cheers mate. 👌👌👌👍👍👍🤜🤛
Thanks Joe, it was a nice little afternoon session once the rain had stopped and the creek settled down, it was running quite hard at the start, but in the end a great afternoon. Cheers Pete 👍
Well done Pete. The gold thingy still producing the goods. Good to take advantage of the water when it is there. Have a great new year mate 😁👍
It works a treat mate and gets the gold. Unfortunately the water will dry up quick until we get another good rain, but it was fun while it lasted. Have a good New Year. 👍
Horray for creeks !!!!!
With water hopefully, cheers Rod
I think you got your water!@@PetesGoldAdventures
Yeah, but I want to go out with the 6 next, so the creek will have to wait. Cheers Rod
Whoa Pete looks like ya got a river there don't think I've ever seen it flow that much . Hell yeah the gold thingy is back. Good to see you'll have a bit of water for a while. Oh man that's a nice chunk that bank looks like it'll pay out well keep working it if ya can. I hope ya had a great Christmas and the New year is full of giant nuggets and awesome adventures 😀 great video Pete
Unfortunately, that creek would have stopped running and be dry pretty soon, so that's a bugger. The gold thingy is back, after its tumble down a creek bank, it smashed a side off it. I'll definitely have to run some more of that material, it's got some chunky but in it. Hope you had a great Christmas mate and have golden new year. Cheers 👍
@@PetesGoldAdventures oh dang better get down there quick Pete even get a few buckets and run it at home. Glad the gold thingy is still trucking. Yeah Christmas was chill lots of food and drink with family I hope yours was great.
Sounds like you had a great Christmas mate, mine was much the same and now we are at Gunbower on the Murray fishing, so no gold for a few days.
@@PetesGoldAdventures that sounds like it's going to be a good couple of days I hope ya catch something big 😀
Iv gotta get the high banker out again some day.
It's been months for me, but after the rain finished about 1pm I headed out, only a couple of runs in, but the second was a cracker, water is probably gone now 🤣 goes as fast as it comes. Cheers Caleb 👍
@@PetesGoldAdventuresit’s been years for me haha. I’ve got chronic fatigue syndrome so now I just stick to detecting and when my body gives out I just walk back to the car.
@Ful-OGold well that would make it difficult, best stick to detecting. Cheers mate
That’s good really Pete for a fun day out
Just cruising along enjoying a day in the scrub
I’m heading out to Sofala on the 2nd looks like rain though
Meeting up with Glenno from get down dirty and the lads from Aussie Detectorists shop
Clegy and Mason
Hope to find something if it runs to fast might be just camping trip lol with the miss Gee
Cheers 🍻 have a great new yr
My draw on the 30th for one of my hats

It was a good arvo, took advantage of the rain, I'd been wanting to get there for months, but no rain.
Your trip sounds great, it will be awesome meeting up with all those guys, hopefully you get on the gold. Cheers mate, have a great New Year.
Well done Pete. That is not too bad for the afternoon 👏
All the best for the new year
What a blast fam. Great job all around. Keep on having fun getting that Au and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠
Thanks mate, it was fun, short but sweat, but got some colour. Cheers mate
I cannot see the surrounding grass water flattened.
I figure your creek is close to its peak.
What day were you out there ?
That was about as big as it gets. That was boxing day, the rain stopped and I went out. The creeks around Bendigo only flow during rain, even the Bendigo creek itself only trickles, other than that you have to find a water hole in a creek. Cheers mate 👍
@@PetesGoldAdventures Thank You for conditions report
Great work mate..Which side will you start on next time?🤣🤣
Yep, should have started on the side I intended to, I had good stickers when I test panned it months ago. All good, I'm up the Murray fishing, unfortunately only carp today. 🍻👍
plenty of water in that lot, not a bad effort mate
Unfortunately the water would be gone now, so I'll have to wait until the next big rain. Cheers mate and have a great new years
was up at wedderburn on friday looks like they had some serious rain over there and in inglewood@@PetesGoldAdventures
@@neilrawlings3724 That area got hit pretty hard, a lot more rain and flooding than here.
Last one for 23 May your pans be heavy for 24
Yep, that's it Glenno, I won't get out until the new year now, I'd say. Hope you have a great new year mate with heaps of good times. Cheers mate 👍
you are so beautiful in your videos
