Cutting edge production!
Very nice Jack.
There's no end to your talents Jack, nice knife and lovely leather work
Perfect 👌👌👌👏👏👏👏👏
Wow! I had no idea where that was going for a while. Great work!
I'm amazed at how effortlessly the woodworker in this video transforms raw materials into stunning pieces of furniture. Truly talent and dedication at its finest!
Wow. That's the genuine article -- a real puukko, the #1 tool in the Såmi ("Lapp") tool kit, made in the traditional style. Extremely impressive.
Thanks buddy. I’m glad this video reached a few people who appreciate what is going on here 🤙🏻
@@JackMackWoodturning You're welcome, and I forgot to mention a book you may already be aware of. It's called Knifemaking: a Complete Guide to Crafting Knives, Handles, and Sheaths, by Bo Bergman (translation from Swedish, 1997). Like you, he had the blades hand-forged and he did the rest. Some of his sheaths are wood and leather both. Hell of a lot of info in the book.
One of his most intriguing designs is what he calls his prehistoric knife. The blade is sort of sled-shaped, with the handle at 90 degrees to it. But it's not like an Inuit ulu, either. The handle is a big fistful, so you can press down hard. I imagine it's for cutting thick leather, but maybe for chopping through frozen reindeer meat as well.
very nicely done. I would love to get my son to pick up his leather again. He has not touched it in about 5 years.
Absolutely exquisite!
Wow, great job. You could be on the show Forged In Fire.
Very beautiful Jack and an excellent job turning it!!
I very much enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Literally Jack of all trades
Jack, your abilities never cease to amaze me. My son makes knives, I have to show him this one!!
Beautiful knife! An unexpected variation from wood turning, and an exquisite result!
I love knives, and I can see that your wood-turning skills are matched by your bladesmithing!
God bless ALL of us!

Awesome job! You are very talented 😊My first husband used to make knives. He made the blade from one out of an old chain saw bar.
That's a knife and scabbard that will last. Very nice work.
That came out very nice. That is the 1st time I have ever seen someone make a handle for a knife and a knife Sheath.
Hello Jack beautiful knife Beautifully restored well done
As always Jack another stunning piece 💞
Very nice!
Very nice work
WOW 💥🙌
Beautiful knife handle and sheath
Ohhhhh yeah, Mr. Jack Mack...it is a wonderful experience to see you are a man of unlimited talents!! I noticed that you have aquired a few owies along the way, but in a sense, what better badges of showing your fearless, hands-on skills to try new with the old. More proof that your mind and hands are quite capable of extraordinary works with all kinds and sorts of materials. It's stunning to think where these new ideas will take you. All the possibilities ahead... WoW...just WoW!! Again, Mr. Jack, thank you kindly for letting us all see you continue to grow, and continue with great work. Fantastic knife btw, anxiously awaiting your next ideas come to life!! 😳😁👍
Beautiful work by the master.
that turned out great, nice one Jack
Thanks 👍
A man of many talents! Great job!
Very attractive knife. Love the grain of that wood. Looks like you've done leather work before. Beautiful !
I had literally never worked with leather before this project 😆😆.. I’m happy with this outcome. Thanks you
@@JackMackWoodturning You looked like an old pro working and cutting that leather.
Hard to type because i have bandages on my clicky hand. But I love making Scandinavian knives, etc. This is right up my alley. Good stuff. Good choice to use the bone there. 👍
Is that real sinew? I use that too!
WOW!!! Perfect!!!
I'm impressed by your work once again! Excellent!!❤
...for something completely different, I'd say you "handled" it extremely well...😉
I'm impressed...are you a Jack of all trades???
Matt
You are a man of many talents! Awesome knife project ❤

Very nice. You have many talents. ❤
Quite different. I enjoyed watching the video.
Excellent work, sir. ;)
Looks like there's still a bit of the wood left?Love the way you use all sorts of tools with no gloves, but a needle and thread....😮😂
Helps with the grip 😆
Jack Mack Woodturning, Subscribed because your videos are so much fun!
Beautiful knife, stunning. I learnt so much from this video, you showed the process and tricks well and so explanatory even without words. Thank you. I wonder if you bought that leather round edge knife or made it? I cannot recall seeing a video on it in the last couple years, but will go back looking now.
Nice
Show, ficou linda.
Do we find out why the wood was sentimental?
I would like to know!
♥️♥️♥️
🎉🎉🎉
Why does this wood look like it contains the souls of a million forgotten children?
😆
Very, very nice Jack Mack. You are a man of many talents and an awesome tool set. What was the last thing you used on the leather ? Was it saddle soap ?
I don't see the link to the blade manufacturer but I bet "JP" stands for Jouko Pirppu who makes exellent knives from start to finnish.
So sorry. Iv added it now JP stands for Julius Pettersson. You can buy his blades from Woodlore website and he was also featured on a very old ray Mears episode.

Nice bit of leather work! Pretty sure you used to have a metal working channel - maybe only a couple of videos put out, I think I’m right aren’t I?
What if you took a burl, soaked it in green dye, poured blue resin over it and carved a bowl that looks like the earth?
OK, a great piece of burl all cut up???????????? (did I miss something)
I can only think you missed the entire video..
Hello Jack, what is the white material you used? Thanks.
Thats buffalo bone.
👋👍
Yew
Nice also first comment
And first like

Buffalo fat for the leather. Wise choice.
Next Level. Nice Leather work 🖤🏳🖤
What tools company do you use for sculpting?
Looks great, but it would have to be kept secure and hidden away at home with what is happening in Australia these days!
Thanks. What’s happening in oz ? I have many unsheathed knives in my kitchen.😆
Crazy things are happening with some people and knives...
Hmm there is no turning at all, so y you called this Woodturning -Bone , Leather and Burl ? …. Clickbait ? You dont need it 🤨
Don't be such a prick. There is a million videos about wood turning so don't be hateful
Beautiful!
