DEATHWISH LONG TRAVEL CADILLAC WHOOP DEVILLE BUILD

- This time on Deathwish Josh Mazerolle, Kaylee and the gang at Vague Industries decide to make a long travel Cadillac dubbed the Cadillac Whoop DeVille. As always the build gets down to the wire with an unmovable deadline. Looks like the test drive for this crazy machine is going to be a 2000 mile road trip to Holley LS Fest East in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The builds starts with a LS swapped Cadillac that Josh found on marketplace. He then sourced some OBS Ford F250 Twin I Beam front suspension aka Whoop Scissors and now it's time to melt some metal and make it all work together with a 14 bolt rear end. They even found a way to use some triple bypass air shocks and custom swing set steering for the new suspension. Will they get the build done in time and be able to send it on the off road course in Kentucky or will they break down all along the way. Stay tuned and find out!

The folks at the Gearstar transmission shop are legends
They definitely got them out of a pickle.
Can't recommend them enough
I have loved the twin I beam suspension ever since a friend bought a brand new 1971 in our Jr year of HS. His dad co-signed the loan and they wrote it off as equipment in their moving business. You are the first one I have seen who used it in a way I would liked to have. I thought the use of the longer beam on both sides was a great call, and with good results. I hope you iron out the remaining issues and wish you success on the rest of this venture. 👍👍👍
used some desert knowledge on this build for sure
Every episode gives passion for my own projects. Absolutely love this way of adventure build off style you do . ❤😎🔧🔧💪
Entertain and Inspire is the goal. 🤠
My favorite mechanical mad scientist at it again.
Josh making cool s**t happen every day. Inspirational
This one turned out crazy cool. Can’t wait to see it with a supercharger 👀
Just doing me as hard as I can. Glad you like it
Another rad creation from my favorite New Englanders.
Such a rowdy little Cadillac. 🤠
😊
Super charger it & SEND IT!!!
Supercharger, add some bumps and some mods to make it dialed and then SEND IT!
One peice at a time!
This was a sick ass day at work watching y’all pull a trans and install one
The last thing you want to have to pull out of a new build.
@@BustedKnuckleVideo hahahahha right😂 but aye us at gearstar made sure he got it going🤘🏻
@@jamesamato9419 thank you
Great times with Josh and the gang, Whoop Deville is actually the ultimate mid sized luxury sedan, just in case anyone was wondering. 11/10
I’ll never buy a transmission from anyone other than Gearstar, Zack and the guys there are true hot rod family, also Larry is goated.
That Waffle House in PA was lit, and the drive back was just as much fun, if you know you know.
@giftedgarage has a sick stockcar, imagine if it was boosted? 🐌🐌
Snail time for the stock car. 👍
🐌🤫😈
I approve this message
Something like this is pretty much my dream car. Currently my summer car is an LS swapped 1988 Cadillac Brougham. Winter car is an Olds 98 Diesel that is getting an LS soon.
These cars with an LS are just the best, ride quality, power, great interior and more.
Building a lifted version is just the icing on top
Also, still using a th200-4r!!!??? Why not drop a 4l60e in there at least. A bit more stout and you get electronic shift control
they are awesome machines with an LS swap for sure
That steering set up is impressive. I definitely would’ve been able to come up with that.
Swing set steering is very common in the desert running world
Mad Max would be proud.👍
They should have a build off with some RUclipsrs for the next movie. 👍
@@BustedKnuckleVideo That would be freaking AWESOME. I can definitely see something like that coming together.
@@CommodoreFloopjack78 we will work on it 😬
"I'll drive that Tanka"
watching you guys cut the frame parts on jackstands... hell yeah! that’s how real work is done 🙂 all these babies crying about having to have a lift 😂
Exactly! 👊
another epic build . 🦖
This one is a winner for sure
Thanks!
love this thing its awesome seeing you around in your rides :)
Just wait until the blower goes on 😬
🎉
Whoop Deville has got to be one of the best names ever 😂
Genius
Nice words and more nice words, thanks for the education and adventure.
Glad you enjoyed it
great stuff thanks
Thanks for watching!
Thank you that was a super fun video. You guys are awesome safe travels.
🎉 safety third
Glad you dig it!
Excellent content, not only because I'm from the same area, always a good time, first time seeing a transmission Dyno,
The transmission Dyno was pretty dang cool
yay deathwish!! my favorite nearly bald guy lol
It’s back! 💀
@@BustedKnuckleVideo yes
I nearly have hair too though
@@VagueIndustriesTV are you sure
Hell yeah. Love when you upload! Keep em coming!
Thanks more in the edit bay now!
I just came across your channel and subscribed. You guys did some awesome work with that Cadillac. Keep bringing the cool adventures and the great videos 👍✌️🇺🇲
Welcome aboard!
Glad you're here
What a great looking car 👍👍 can’t wait for the next one 👍👍
They are always building crazy stuff. You can see a hint of what’s next in some of the shots. 😉
#ontothenextone
Really like the way you edit the videos! Feels like a stable momentum of progress
Glad you like them!
You put some RTV ON the Self-Tapper. G2G. 😉
Works liked a champ
You must be a scientist
i used to have 33 12.50 thornbirds on the rear of my stock isuzu 95 pickup, real good traction, knobbies on the side if it sits down in mud,.
Thornbirds are legendary
26:50 love you left the acorns from the 🐿 😂
they gotta eat too
@18:50 ish, jealous of the rain outside. Nice viddy, thanks.
plenty of that in the Northeast
wwo! I love the engineering on that steering!
it worked out pretty well
Cool ❤️
Thanks 👍
❤
Always a great trip to watch hahahahaha
Such a crazy crew of builders
Love that old Dooley showed up with your parts
good people
Awesome ❤❤❤
Such a unique build
🎉 I think so too
🏎️💨😎
👊🏁✂️
Thanks for the help
Like that Lincoln locker, I mean Miller, hahaha
Gotta do what you gotta do when on a budget.
Mexican powder coat, that’s great! Love the videos
Glad you dig it!
Twin Traction beam is the 4x4 beams what you had there is Twin I-Beam. Also i know you know this already but you should really be using lock nuts on everything in the steering and suspension.
Yeah it's hard to say the right thing on camera when you are in selfie mode because no one is there to correct you.
That TV cable on the 200 trans is crucial....make sure the pressure is right
Pressure is important
Glad to see the shenanigans continue 😂😂😂
They never stop 😬
Man can't wait to see this one awesome car to pick.
Rides better than a Cadillac now
Love how the caddy's ride it's like being on a Lazyboy sofa and riding on a cloud. My mom had a 86 Cadillac DeVille del elegance man that thing rode good.
@@liamterry5301 they basically have couches in there 😂
@@BustedKnuckleVideo right with double stuffed cushions. LMBO 😆😂😂
It's like driving your living room to the store
This guy knows his stuff
he knows a thing or two about a thing or two
When a shop has a guy like Larry you know it's going to be quality work.
truth
Your steering is such a good idea
swing set steering isn't anything new, its been done on long travel desert cars for years
Finish the Woopster correctly, coil overs front, bypasses rear and bump stops all the way around.
Your close don't stop now.
Only so much budget but you aren’t wrong
your girl is 🔥🔥🔥. what a Keeper 🙌
Best of the best
She is one of a kind
Nice rig Matt. I'm a FORD man myself!
If I could afford a
Super C, I'd probably go for a Cummins powered Freightliner... but that's just me. Hmmm, who woulda thought?
Giddy up.
After my last Freightliner, I doubt I will ever own another- ruclips.net/video/gkgLbNy9R9c/видео.html
Big trucks. Big problems
I always thought that was called a twin I beam suspension...at least that's what Ford called it.
Twin I beam is correct. Traction beam is 4wd. Hard to correct yourself when in selfie mode filming
Whoop DeVille. Badass name.
They were pretty creative with that one
So natural
Neat
turned out slick
This looks a bit grungy, but there's some excellent fab work happening 👍
Pity the end was so anti climactic with almost zero footage 😩
Tell me about it, it is so hard to do a build like this and then get footage of it when everyone is exhausted. Maybe this won't be the last you see of this unit
Guys- out of curiosity, I visited your web page. Or online store or whatever the hell it's called. Let me tell you, you guys have some of the most beautiful vehicles ever created. Damn, if I had 100K, I would EASILY go visit your shop and start to work.
Thanks we are super proud of them. We have a 4 seater coming out soon!
@@BustedKnuckleVideo Excited!
Love you guys im dts from the shop I should bring yall my hardbody tbh
stop bye and say hey
New sub. cool video. o7
Welcome!
"All I wanna do is jump it....
With all my friends in the car."
"Maybe its the old man in me"
Out of context comedy. You're welcome.
and Jumped it he did
❤
👊
❤
I work next to the shop the whoopdevil is at lol lucerne valley
Awesome
Mexican powdercoating!!!
Exactly!
You can use that one as your own
👍👍👍
👊👊👊
I'm so jealous of that welder
It is a nice one
Ditch the Suckmaster mufflers, go with Dynomax Bullets, keep the pipes... ;)
Probably won’t be able to tell the difference 😂
Josh really making it look easy in his older age
more road side chaos
That looked like the gearstar parking lot here in Akron Ohio. Drive by it all the time lol
sure was
I seen that once farther in the video lol. Looks like you all had one hell of a trip👍
always
I really dig the Chevy truck
It is a nice one as well
Duramax too
I would absolutely LOVE to do stuff like this but I'm broke
39:00 ish, good thing you got tuned up.
needs some shock tuning
Why didnt you drain the trans and when you did that unhook you tb cable in the pan
Extra steps take extra time
Always short on time.
I've got a 79 montie "shorty" been wanting to do this exact job, except it's a michigan car,so the material to rust ratio is way to high..
Rusty cars make it even more fun to build 😬
Not twin traction beam. Just Twin I Beam. The Traction Beam was their 4 wheel drive front axle. Fun build though.
yep he just misspoke
The Cattle Track.
at least it had some sweet jumps
I want a 1977-1984 Coupe DeVille!!!!!
They are a time capsule of luxury 😬
@@BustedKnuckleVideo exactly
Needs whoop scissors though
Almost
Just a few mods to get it dialed
If it doesn't work, we'll always think it shoulda
I'll just cognitively reframe this failure as a win 😂
Imagine if this guy was the lead engineer for one of the car companies they'd be building some awesome rigs
Not sure that would work out
Your at a shop Your friends show and there is no jack anywhere in that town?
gotta work with what you've got
Cavemen
Hey. You. Should make caddy hot rod. Baggs
Grade a team!
some of the best no doubt
Twin I beam. Twin traction beam is the 4wd version.
Yep he mispoke, it happens when filming by yourself 👍
@@BustedKnuckleVideo no worries. Awesome build BTW
Go revisit the guy who had the motorcycle engine powerd lawnmower from the first episode of busted knuckle garage pls 🙏
That was the first episode of Deathwish. We might could arrange a update visit with him.
Not a bad idea
😆 🤣 paint it while it's hot😂😅
Mexican powder coat FTW 🇲🇽
I always wanted a black V8 swapped Chevy celebrity I know you could build something like that
celebrity?
I just saw this car when I sold them a new project, small world
Oh a new project. Do tell. 😬
@@BustedKnuckleVideo Momma ain't raise no snitch.
@@colt_walker good answer 😉
@Colt Walker that's right ✅️ this is a good one!!!
Yout gonna be in Kentucky?
Very likely, not sure what vehicle will be there
Dont worry, they put a bunch of extra steel in these old frames.
They don’t build them like that anymore
No worries here
Dammmmmn
She’s a beaut!
*Dannnng!*
🌴 RAWSUMNiSS 🐢 🌴
she is a mean machine
I was kinda surprised you used leaf springs
they are very common to use in the rear
Hilarious. Mexican cerakote
Mexican powder coat but yeah
@@BustedKnuckleVideo , I’m old with bad hearing. Thanks for the correction.
was that a matt sighting ?
when/where? which MAtt?
@@BustedKnuckleVideo hey brother . Matt from whiskey throttle therapy. I won't use his last name for reason of privacy . But Matt is a great mechanic and fabricator and have done a few engine swaps and tranny swaps and builds with Matt G
Imagine this on a gran torino with a cobra jet
Yes
@@BustedKnuckleVideo I see a man of culture
Spray the shock body with nitrous 😅
Gotta keep it cool
🥶
Just think if it wasn't the Whoop Deville you would have had to jack it up to swap the trans!
that is why lifted vehicles are a mechanics best friend
Almost planned it that way
Need some limiting straps
that might help, these air shocks aren't supposed to need them though
Not criticizing just wondering but why not put the battery in the trunk
probably time constraint, more rear weight is better on something like this for sure.
id love to se you ls swap a xj jeep on a dime
That seems doable
Hoopty Ville
Long travel hooptie 😉
Tomato-tomAto
Well would you look at that😂😂😂
whoop scissors
I had one with a 8.2 liter in it!!
Perfect
Cadillac Whoop Deville Bruh ham
that's right
WHY NOT USE TRAILING ARMS ON THE REAR SO ITS LIKE A TROPHY TRUCK 😩
Not enough budget
Lol.... Mexican powder coat🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Tougher than regular spray paint 🤠
Build something with a two stroke Detroit Diesel next
don't see a lot of that
