Just goes go show. The number of crash damaged cars on the road that insurance companies have repaired and so haven't given them a category 'S'. Lots of people say I'd never buy a crash damaged repaired car. If the insurance company paid for it to be repaired, how would you know?
Just found it funny as The Car Vertical check clearly didn't work in this case. All reputable dealers and car auction sites do a HPI check, so only worth paying for a check if your buying from a really dodgy garage or a private seller.
@@andrewpemberton7295 I guarantee if Insurance paid out on this car , there would be a record at car vertical Period … who ever owned this car probably didn’t have any insurance and it was a total loss to the owner, but there would be no possible way car vertical would have a record of it ! So the owner just sold at auction to recoup whatever he could get !! And still car vertical would not be involved!!!!!!!!! 💥
Also have you seen the price of car vertical checks they've gone through the roof 30 quid last time I looked seems paying all these 'celebrities' to advertise for them is costing them too much sorry but I'll stick to HPI
Cut the oil lines with a cutting/grinding wheel....what could possibly go wrong with that scenario? Im sure none of the grinder's particles got inside the oil and definitely won't hurt the pistons or the bearings.....or anything else.
Exactly what I thought mate! That sure isn’t Mats approach but the fact that that is the consequence under this insurance state is a terrifying thought of an easy way to rip people off ,in real life‘.
Advertising car vertical that informs you if your car has a crash damaged history without your knowledge and then repairing a high powered car that will have a clean title but should be a cat S is double standards surely. It's just as bad as doing an ex track day car. Car vertical doesn't tell you if your car was used as a track day vehicle.
@@marcosd999 how can it be flagged as a write off if it hasn't been written off? (As in, if an insurance company hasn't said "that's not worth us fixing, we'll pay you what it's worth instead").
so long as you can buy the metal to fix it, it's repairable. Being a newer car, the metal should be other there but more than likely you'll have to buy new rather than used, unless you're lucky. One thing you might want to do is have it put on a frame rack to have the car pulled more into alignment.

I’m having de-ja-vu. I went through a similar process with my own car here in Australia. New quarter panel and inner panels, the whole lot. It’s a big job but as a rookie, i took it on and it looks as good as new. I’ll be following this one closely
Former traffic cop here... its most likely the BMW was travelling NW on Gunthorpe Ridings (at speed) and lost control over the surface change at the junction of Caldbeck Close. its a right hand sweeper at that point so you are into a clockwise spin over the surface change (fits with the damage and final position). About 60m to the impact with the house, so 70-80mph most likely. There are witness marks on the pavement (you have to look closely) which indicates the car went in sideways and was still spinning as it hit the house. This likely made the damage worse on the rear end as the car was rotating into the corner of the garden wall. Its hit the house and come to an almost dead stop, its rolled back about 2 feet post impact. HTH.
@@Stuey1221 Suspension was likely on the bump stops after hopping the kerb so yes probably the wheels were not exactly firmly planted! The rear wheels were back down on the ground after the grass as there are witness marks on the pavement.
You could've got the car on a jig to pull all the rear panels out before cutting. You can usually pull out most of the internal structure back in place to relieve the tension then remover the outer panel. Get a pull jig next time it will serve you well in the future. Look forward to seeing this completed :)

@@ayoutubechannel8036 yes works great for Mat, just surprised he had to pay that much for a car in that state.
Yes great for Mat, but just surprised he had to pay that much for it!
That's alot pf money especially given the amount of effort he will have to put in to fix it. Where as he could of brought like you said a 50k one
@@ayoutubechannel8036 plus he’ll definitely going to raffle this car, which pockets him a bit more. I’m not worried for him 😂
Easy repair. Inner and outer Qtr replace. Get a shell cut will make it easier and give it a good pull first before starting surgery.
People will say... you can't do that lol .. metal can all be replaced with ease.
For sure, but for how bad it’s hit 32k pretty steep.
I started getting into the "rebuild" videos from your channel and no other channel has come even close... Great job man!! Big fan!!
I’ve been in the motor trade for 30 years and seen plenty of qualified mechanics that have knowhere near the skill you have so don’t say you are not a mechanic! love the videos!
Engine very bad
In general or just this car?
Engine very very bad! 😂
Engine very very very bad
@@jamescharlton924definitely not in general 😂 the S58 is a tuners dream of a platform
Cringe
Nice project Mr Armstrong, get it on the jig and pull it as close as you can before cutting any more panels off.
From someone that’s followed you since your early days working two jobs I gotta give it to you May. Well done you deserve the success. Onwards and upwards. I love the family and friends values in you. Keep it up pal 🌟👍💪🙏🎉
I like how you did the Car Vertical advert straight after saying.... "This car is totally clear on Car Vertical" 😂
Car vertical is trash
Have you not watched Arthur Tussik on here yet, he’s the MASTER of all things destroyed
17:13 passenger rear tyre left a faint slide mark on the path.
There is no US import that Arthur can't repair😃
Let’s go mate are a mad man with the worst of the worst and still out shining yourself every single time.
Really admire Matt and his team for their skill set. I would never know where to start from. I’m in awe every single time
11:42 the happiness for the working indicator is one of the reasons why i love to watch you 😂
and I bet it's the first time that indicator has ever been used!
@@mrlister2000 hhahhahhhhhhh
Bro the way that thing came off the trailer made my heart drop hahahaha
Cut the oil lines with a cutting/grinding wheel....what could possibly go wrong with that scenario? Im sure none of the grinder's particles got inside the oil and definitely won't hurt the pistons or the bearings.....or anything else.
I always love the positive energy of you when some so wrecked is moving. Keep these great video's coming.
that having a clean title after being repaired from crashing into a house has to be straight up fraud. no question about it.
Exactly what I thought mate! That sure isn’t Mats approach but the fact that that is the consequence under this insurance state is a terrifying thought of an easy way to rip people off ,in real life‘.
Trouble is where do you draw the line between tapping a road sign at 5mph and buying a new bumper and having an accident like this
You can clearly see the reg, wouldn't it get flagged as a write off if any insurance company sees this video?
Advertising car vertical that informs you if your car has a crash damaged history without your knowledge and then repairing a high powered car that will have a clean title but should be a cat S is double standards surely. It's just as bad as doing an ex track day car. Car vertical doesn't tell you if your car was used as a track day vehicle.
@@marcosd999 how can it be flagged as a write off if it hasn't been written off? (As in, if an insurance company hasn't said "that's not worth us fixing, we'll pay you what it's worth instead").
10:37 matt on the bonnet off explaining those hinges had me on my arse hahahahah
It's 10:11.
@@jeebus2121 haha you nailed that time. My phone wouldn't get it correct hahaha
so long as you can buy the metal to fix it, it's repairable. Being a newer car, the metal should be other there but more than likely you'll have to buy new rather than used, unless you're lucky. One thing you might want to do is have it put on a frame rack to have the car pulled more into alignment.
Everything can be fixed with ease. Why people think it can't bewilders me. I've repaired cars scrap yards did not want. It's all a question of cost.
Bro I used to ride BMX every day of my life and when I wanted to start driving my epilepsy decided that wasn't going to happen so it's awesome to see the videos and see that because of these videos that that's how every one else got into it thank you for all the videos and footage bro keep it coming you to pops!
I’m having de-ja-vu. I went through a similar process with my own car here in Australia. New quarter panel and inner panels, the whole lot. It’s a big job but as a rookie, i took it on and it looks as good as new. I’ll be following this one closely
the way it is presented, it as if he was just passing by and bought it on the crash site 😂😂
I liked how attentively was the class when MAT was demonstrating how the car ran into the house..😂😂👍
I could quite happily sit and watch these videos all day everyday. Great work mat
Should have made an offer on the crashed damaged house.. in for a penny in for a pound lol
And tried rebuilding that 😅
Exactly and sure if ends up not straight no big deal as long as the rain doesn’t run into it 😂
😂😂
Watched mats channel since he was in car parks and he deserves every success! Plus his dad must be one of the best guys to lighten the channel up 😂
Love your show thank you
Former traffic cop here... its most likely the BMW was travelling NW on Gunthorpe Ridings (at speed) and lost control over the surface change at the junction of Caldbeck Close. its a right hand sweeper at that point so you are into a clockwise spin over the surface change (fits with the damage and final position). HTH.
Think it may have gone airborne as it hit the kerb? Would explain the lack of tire marks on the grass
@@Stuey1221 Suspension was likely on the bump stops after hopping the kerb so yes probably the wheels were not exactly firmly planted! The rear wheels were back down on the ground after the grass as there are witness marks on the pavement.
Big up Peterborough!
Werrington crew represent!
You could've got the car on a jig to pull all the rear panels out before cutting. You can usually pull out most of the internal structure back in place to relieve the tension then remover the outer panel. Get a pull jig next time it will serve you well in the future. Look forward to seeing this completed :)
I was thinking exactly the same as they cut the outer panels off 🙂
are we not gonna talk about that purple 911 0:21?
Looks very familiar! lol. You can see it again around 12 minutes in when they pull it into the shop.
I’m wondering where’s the grey one matt rebuilt in 24 hours
My thoughts exactly lol
It's a 911 Carrera GTS, not a GT3. It's at Mallory Performance.
@@shona5512 makes sense. I don't see a rear wing when I look again.
Mat, an ordinarily bloke, just has good fun with the challenges he takes on with his Dad, partner and mates.
Inner and out quarter and just get a little pull on the parcel shelf panel. If you need help with a quarter, I can probably get you a cut mate👍🏻👍🏻
While on the topic of repairing red crashed cars into buildings…. Here in Bracknell there’s a golf GTI stuck in an apartment building that’s been there a couple months…. Keep an eye out in Copart Newbury!
Sò nice to see Hannah more involved again in your videos🤗
First time watching your videos mat & I’ve got to say I’m hooked already, not sure how I haven’t come across your videos earlier.Love you & your teams sense of humour & watching the rebuilds is really interesting.Really looking forward to watching future videos & following your channel
Every single like this comment gets I will do one push-up
Love you Matty either you come to South Africa or I come up to the UK I gotta see you live one day❤ been watching since the Black golf 7R❤🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
That would be lekker man!
why didnt you jack the car up and put a smaller spare tire on it? instead of cutting the panel...
The craziest part of this is the fact that me and my day always walk past that exact house on the way to the pub and always wondered how that hole ( in a house don’t forget )and with this series told us , plus they’ve added speed bumps on that road which we found tickled us
For every like iam gonna do a pushup😂😊
❤
Matt and the crew thank,s to you guy,s i,m doing small jobs with a little more confidence now big thank you love the channel
Mat - this gen of Mcar is available in other markets with a manual gearbox (albeit slightly detuned, non-competition spec) ! Must be the same one that’s optional on the current M2.
You know it makes sense to get that box converted - much easier to get it into neutral next time the car gets mashed off someone’s wall
It would be cool to get any old or damaged part from any crashed car, that Matt repairs as bonus if ordering anything from him.
Another journey you and the team are taking us on!!! Looking forward to seeing how this pans out.
Imagine Ben Vtuned flying to the UK in a joint collaboration with Matt to fix the chassis. That would be sick. I really enjoy when RUclipsrs meet.
You deserve nothing more than support, still on shock how you fix these cars(I liked the C63)
Always great content, Matt. No constant multiplier giveaways, no fake setups. Just good old engine very bad if I can fix it you can fix it.
My downtime of the week uses to be top gear/ grand tour now it’s mat Armstrong rebuilding cars 👌🏻 we now have a 4 poster ramp at our yard good too someone local doing well and inspiring others along the way
In my place we don’t cut the panel out like you guys did we use PDR and if that doesn’t fix it then we move one to cutting the rear panel
Slightly faster, reworked suspension, the trim bits inside and out, light weight front seats, all equate to specific parts for the M3 Comp. Good luck pal!
Please raffle this car off at the end of the build Mat. I'm sure you'll get your money back and a bit left over for your next project. Love watching your videos and your fun approach to dealing with what must be stressful to rebuild a car, even if you don't show it on camera
Mat I used to work for ASV EUROPEAN SPARES in brookvale nsw Australia, we use to do alot of cut n shuts. Where I used to car a whole rear quarter section for repairs like that.... ASV European are pretty big in parts here in Australia but I'm sure you probably use them already. You know ASV was named after 3 brothers Avo,Sam,Vic
Enough of them....
I'm enjoying your uploads Mat, your father is Awesome, and it's great to see your partner help to, even on the tools.
Look forward to seeing next upload mate 👍
I love how every car has its own story so that no two cars can ever really be the same. Especially builds like this.
Two things you need Matt, dollies so you can move cars about when wheels are locked up and a porta power to pull/push out panels to straighten them
McDonalds trays, fuck the world
Always use the damaged panels to do a jig pull before cutting Matt then you can remove the panels at the spot welds.
It’s crazy Mat has been going for a few years and has almost the same number of subscribers as Shmee-150 who has been going for over a decade!!! Incredible work Mat!!!
Hi Mat, put some protection over glass when using a grinder the sparks stick to it when grinding it will save you a few quid
Mat rips the wheel arch cover off.
Dad “you’re not reusing that bit then” proceeds to laugh. Comedy magic.
We’ll been waiting for rebuild channel to get their hands on one of these and heard great things about this channel so my time to watch
I take my hat off to you. You have some massive balls sir to take that on!
I’ll be tuning in for the follow up. 👍🏻
Nowadays I would say Matt's as good if not better than most mechanics. The fact that he's been able to work on a variety of cars and have them pass inspection at their factory dealerships. Not to mention how fast he gets it done is crazy. Tavarish needs to send the P1 down there.
Dbout it guys a chancer that Google's and just gets info off other people. What about the thousands of techs every day who do car after car ?
