As a car guy who's 57 today, I can guarantee you would've looked back in 10 maybe 15 years and said "I wish I would've fixed that car"......so I say good choice Mat!...btw. 1000hp, slicks and rain...not many people can pull it off...glad your ok!

Easy for us to not impulse record everything, but recording things has been their life for a while now, so not surprising they felt it natural to document part the process.
The hardest part to watch was Hannah crying. She must have gone through all the emotions of the possibility of losing you. Cars are just machines, regardless of memories, and can be rebuilt (with even more memories now). So glad you're ok Mat, and very happy to see you're repairing her!

When I was about 21 I crashed my Mk3 Escort into a merc. The merc broke a headlight and my Escort died. As they pulled her off my parent’s drive to take away for scrap I cried. Loved that car. When I sold my Golf GTi because my new baby daughter wouldn’t really fit easily into a car seat in its silly 3 door interior I cried. We get silly attached to these cars because they’re a little bit of us; an expression of our personality. And those two cars were normal cars. Yours is something else. Gutted for you but looking forward to more great videos of you putting her back together.
Sent my black e90 off to scrap after 5 years and 50k miles, watching it leave ona truck was heart wrenching, still miss that whip even tho I drive a F31 now ❤

I hydroplaned and took the front end off my STO last year. Not a fun time. Can't ever expect it or anticipate it, suddenly you're just sideways. Glad you're alright. Rebuild and continue onward. Seeing Hannah's reaction to the crash scene got me emotional, she really cares about you.
Exactly the same happened on my 718 GTS. Just cruising at 120km/h and all of a sudden sideways and hitting the barrier. No way to anticipate it or "catch it".
Firstly, thank goodness you or nobody was hurt. You were honest, admitted it and didn't make excuses. It's one of the reasons you are a great role model to many up and coming RUclipsrs. Props to the police and the locals who helped as well as your team. Also to the recovery people. You must be gutted but, at the end of the day, it's a thing and things can be repaired or replaced. RUclipsrs are real people. Chin up and do what you do best.

My brother crashed our late grandpa's 2004 red Skoda Fabia not so long ago. We loved that little Ferrari, took us anywhere. Both my brother and dad learnt to drive on it. It's not the fact that we will no longer be able to drive it that hurts the most, but the memories we made with it. It was my grandpa's car. He used to drive us to their house every Sunday, where we talked, ate, and shared stories. Sadly, It would've cost more to repair the car, than to just buy a used one. My brother crashed our late grandpa's 2004 red Skoda Fabia not so long ago. We loved that little Ferrari, took us anywhere. Both my brother and dad learnt to drive on it. It's not the fact that we will no longer be able to drive it that hurts the most, but the memories we made with it. It was my grandpa's car. He used to drive us to their house every Sunday, where we talked, ate, and shared stories. Sadly, It would've cost more to repair the car, than to just buy a used one. I'll forever miss that little red Ferrari.
