Unfortunately Hanson fell into the category of teen idol status and no one took them seriously. However, these three brothers are talented musicians and their material is far more intelligent and listenable than people think. They deserve airplay and acknowledgement for their music.
You say this in an offensive tone with people who only know MMMBop. What's wrong with being a teen symbol band? It generates a magical power that always takes us back to our childhood when we listen. I'm from the same generation as the band members, and for me the feeling of nostalgia is as positive as listening to Elvis, Johnny Cash, Beach Boys, Led Ten Years After... bands I've really listened to all my life. It's not just any band that awakens my feelings, and Hanson is one of them, with just one song. If you want to get into the technicalities of the other songs I can give you a million musicians who are technically superior (probably the members of Hansom themselves agree with this) because I'm a Blues/RocknRoll/Country/Folk guy, there's nothing musical about them that will leave me impressed beyond the noostalgia
@@Kanoog Yeah, my boys were 8 and 6 when it came out. We all loved it then, and I still do. I don't think there is another song that has remained this popular for this many years like this has. I scroll through the thousand songs on my ipod, and Bon Jovi's hit "Livin' on a prayer" is the only one that I think has remained that popular but that is a specific genre, where Mmm bop covers several genres. I'm so impressed by how they have handled fame. They are all married, have 15 kids between them, and if they raised their kids like they were raised, that is one more thing they will be successful at. I listened to an interview with them not long ago, and after being asked about how their parents raised them, their mom was like "rules are meant to be broken". I'm not so sure that's the best advice, but it worked for them.
Great vocal harmonies. I would imagine the two younger guys would have had to go through some phase of adjusting as their adult vices kicked in, but it seems like they weathered the changes well and adapted, as a band and as brothers.
They’ve been my favorite band since 1997 and I see them every year they come to Chicago! So glad other people are finally seeing how amazing they still are!
Funny thing for (older generation) to say but, I don't feel like looking it up. Hanson didn't chart all that high in 97 top 40. More of a one hit lister. Saw a youtube of some solo work, that might be a better go, as the 60's-80's rock bands found out.
This is not only a band but an amazing one... they write their songs, they sing, they really play all those instruments and some more, they're great guys and also they are handsome and sexy 🥰👍❤️💚💙🔟
The best and most serious vocalist I've seen. Love their Xmas albums. I love how cool and fresh they are. Would love to see them live. They have released so many good albums and they still do. I recommend that people should revisit their albums.
They should have live performance in open area with same energy as in their childhood original video clip. This song is everlasting cheerful song. People need it.
Me & My 8yr old self was in love with this song, such a 90s classic. And I remember back then everyone was in love with Taylor, Zac was the cute little brother, no one gave Isaac/Ike much attention. But he truly turned out to be the Swan, he looks great now.
I was four years old when this song came out. I loved to jam to this back then. Now I'm a week from turning thirty. This version feels like a representation of myself now. No longer that young, but still that 90s kid inside.
This has been my favorite band since they came out in 97, I was 10 yrs old. Saw them live when I was about 16-17. Zac was my bias but Taylor was such a sight to behold. He's SO good-looking and his voice sounds exactly the same as his younger years. Love these boys!!
This family has stayed the way we always wanted to stay, themselves and the industry did not destroy them humble and real through and through, I was 17yo when mmmbop entered my acoustic meatus and loved them ever since got all cds and Christmas albums aged like a fine wine of the 90s
Omg my son was 7 years old when the song was released in 1997 and him and I were obsessed with it. I bought him/us..lol..the cd and we played it so much surprised it did not wear out. My son seen them in concert a couple years ago with some friends and they said they were awesome!
I'm a year older than this song and grew up listening to this song. So to still hear the Hanson Brothers rocking this song out 25 years later brings back alot of awesome past memories
They have never been away they have been writing songs and touring since the 90s. They have some great songs , I watched them live at the o2 London last month. Very underrated band
Hard to believe it has been 26 years since this song was released. Seems like it went by so fast. I first heard it when I was 19 and now am a few years shy of 50.
Unfortunately Hanson fell into the category of teen idol status and no one took them seriously. However, these three brothers are talented musicians and their material is far more intelligent and listenable than people think. They deserve airplay and acknowledgement for their music.
Yes they definitely do!
No they didn't sell there souls.

I feel bad that I used to make fun of them, but they were just like the Jackson 5 - a talented musical family. Hanson has my RESPECT :)
100% agree!
I was 38 when this came out in '97. I'll be 63 in 9 days and I still love these guys and this song! This is what music is about!
Yes Taylor was my first crush 😍 and I'm 36
I just turned 36, I was 11 when this came out, crazy to think about isn't it?

I loved this song when I was a kid, but I actually like it better now with their deeper adult voices... it aged very well
I totally agree and they need to re record it.
The message of the song is strong, too.
Bit like them really
Adult voices. I agree.
Great vocal harmonies. I would imagine the two younger guys would have had to go through some phase of adjusting as their adult vices kicked in, but it seems like they weathered the changes well and adapted, as a band and as brothers.
The Korean boy who bought this album in 1997
Now someone's dad, a man in his 40s.
Let's be healthy, all dads.
昔のも大好きだったけど大人のHansonも最高に良いわ!!!
They’ve been my favorite band since 1997 and I see them every year they come to Chicago! So glad other people are finally seeing how amazing they still are!

This song will go down as one of the most memorable and catchy songs that you couldn't get out of your head if you tried!
Loving the mature version just as much as the young version. Great song and love these boys.
Wow! I was 47 when this came out! Now I'm 67 and still love it!!❤
Wonderful, a legendary song and band!
Not many groups can sing the song that made them stars and sing as good if not better but these guys nailed it
Odd thing their voices changed but are still recognizably high and young sounding. You can definitely tell that's them.
I was a sophomore in college when this song came out. Now, I’m retired. Scary!
Stop bragging, ..we get it, you have money, blah blah blah

Oh they all look so good!
Ι got old....they got old..... damn it TIME flies.
I really like their song Penny and Me. They are quite talented. They sing well and play multiple instruments.
May 2024 still listen to this song❤
Zach is smoooooth as butter on the drums like only he can be.
They've gone from teens (and preteen) to middle aged, but they still rock this song the same.
Like any 50s, 60s, 70s, or 80s, never gets old!
Love that vintage organ he's playing! :D
No plugins or samples, just the real deal!
All the feels. Like every last one 🥹🥹🥹

One of the best songs of all time -- always reminds me of holiday. Brilliant

Alway such a TALENTED group of young men - everything they've ever done was great and very different. Loved em then and now !
That groove was Nasty! The harmonies were Ridiculous! To be able to play and sing that well. Their talent is off the chain. Well Done. 🎶🎼🎵😎👍🏾
