I suspect a lot of the hate came from over-exposure. People at the time heard this song in the supermarket, on the radio; basically constantly. I am an old guy and, at the time, it wasn't that the song was bad but that I heard it everywhere all the time that led to my avoiding it.
Forget the original version being bubblegum pop rock, even then their harmonies were amazing. This more grownup adult version is absolutely lights out.
63 years old. Rock or bust. Once an a while a band comes by and blows your mind. Three dudes, good, bad, humans, whatever. Be who you want to be. These 3 dudes, put a memory in my mind. Forever.
Have you ever Googled the lyrics to the song? For years I just knew MMMBop. "You have so many relationships in this life / Only one or two will last / You go through all the pain and strife / Then you turn your back and they're gone so fast" -- That's some deep shit, man.
Plenty of hit songs are hits simply because of the artists look, or a gimmick sound, but this was a catchy, well written song from KIDS. And they had real chops . They should be super proud of it and that they stayed healthy and sane through the fame
I remember these guys use to come into my Pawnshop with their dad looking for musical gear they were playing Malls and schools and private party's before their first album came out
I been listen to hanson since 1994 till now. I'm 41 years old same age like taylor and I remember how great this song was when hit the radio station I still listened to them
lol "a hit" is insanely understated. This shit took the WORLD by storm.. it was freakin' nutty how big these kids were. To me, the most impressive thing is they did it WITHOUT the internet!!!
I’ve always said as Hanson became the band we all recognize now I could care less if they play Mmmbop at their shows (I’ve only been to one where they didn’t) but I really loved Taylor’s explanation. They had a number one song right out the gate and that is how I got to be a fan. I’ve stuck with them through all of it and am so glad that I have. They’re amazing musicians.
Eu amo essa banda!!! Fez muita parte da minha infância, assim como space girl, backstreet boys... Tive a oportunidade de ver um show de Hanson de Dallas, quando fui de férias pra lá em 2005. Foi lindo demais.
I love how they still play this because most artists who started as young as they did tend to treat songs that more or less put them on the map (in a way) act as if these songs are some dirty secret of sorts. Like, some tend to look really embarrassed and seemed to just want to forget their older songs.
This song was something all the girls in my suite would sing to in college getting ready. It made hard days easier. I am so glad you guys are still performing it.
OMG THIS SONG BRINGS ME PURE JOY!!!!! My, my, you brothers are all grown up, and all of you, just Gorgeous!!!!! I new you were talented the very first time I heard this AMAZING, MAGNIFICENT MAGICAL SONG!! I rushed out and bought the c.d.! My husband and children and I adored you from the very first 🎶 magical beat.....
What you did was created one of the most brilliantly written song in history. You just don't realize it till you hit 50 years old! INCREDIBLE!! 11,9,&6 years old!!
I just fell in love with Zac.lol..in a platonic way😏.Great sense of humor.😆.This song is probably the most nostalgic song in my life.I was Taylor's age in 1996 when this came out.I was raised on The Doors and YES so I had to act like this wasn't a very catchy song back then.lol.I had to make fun a couple times as well.Looks like they got the last laugh!!!! Great job boys.Great music.😊
When I did my Grade 7 back in Bulolo Town Morobe Province Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬the boys came up with MMBop and I became one of their followers (fan). Still love listening to them ❤️
This is probably repetitive in posts before, but this was a part of my "growing up" and weirdly the place I go to in music after much trauma...to uplift me. Thank you for your your beautiful representation of family.
Too many hated on these guys back in the day maybe cause it was the Boy Band era? But I liked them right away they are real musicians who can sing and play instruments & write their own songs . Something most so called singers could never do today..
i had been listened this songs since i Am9th years old up till today. I am 49years old, thangk you for still exisst, very happy for that. We still Remember you. Mantap. indonesiano.
growing up this song was ubiquitous and no matter whether you like the song or not, this song was apart of your life if you grew up in the 90s. It aged well
The Hanson army lives! And I’m literally talking about the every growing army of kids they all have will take over the world and party like it’s 1997 forever!
I loved mmmbop when it first came out , I was 21... I think, I'm 47 and love this song even more!! you guys are talented and that was an awesome rendition of that song! keep on keeping on ! respect to you!
This song's construct is one of the greatest pop rock earworms ever written btw...right up there w Toni Basel's Micky. I defy you to listen to the original recording and for 3 days after not have you hum it a few times a day.
Well, they're better musicians now. Plus, the original album version was insipid and overproduced--the lyrics were so muddy it was difficult to clearly make out a lot of the words.
A lot of people hated on these guys but this song was fire and still is today.
They brought back harmony in a time it was missing.
People hate them becuz they got all the girls? lol
I suspect a lot of the hate came from over-exposure. People at the time heard this song in the supermarket, on the radio; basically constantly. I am an old guy and, at the time, it wasn't that the song was bad but that I heard it everywhere all the time that led to my avoiding it.
No.
No it nots hahahhahaha
Forget the original version being bubblegum pop rock, even then their harmonies were amazing. This more grownup adult version is absolutely lights out.
i NEVER REALISED just HOW AMAZING THESE GUYS WHERE, WHAT VOCALS, SPOT ON.
I totally agree
63 years old. Rock or bust. Once an a while a band comes by and blows your mind. Three dudes, good, bad, humans, whatever. Be who you want to be. These 3 dudes, put a memory in my mind. Forever.

I see Zac hasn't lost his silliness, lol. If his kids are there they're probably thinking "Dad, stop".
Don’t ever feel you have to justify playing this song. It’s pure joy! 🤩 Day has been made 💜
It's a strangely adult looking back with wisdom kind of song written by children. They should win a grammy just for their thoughtfulness.
Plenty of hit songs are hits simply because of the artists look, or a gimmick sound, but this was a catchy, well written song from KIDS. And they had real chops . They should be super proud of it and that they stayed healthy and sane through the fame
Props to these guys, never wavered, never faltered, just did what they love
This kids are super talented and thank you for the upbeat music. We need it more than ever.
They're simply just nice guys. You don't see that often in the music world.
Im 65 never gets old my girls played the cd non stop.
I remember these guys use to come into my Pawnshop with their dad looking for musical gear they were playing Malls and schools and private party's before their first album came out
You can not say these guys don’t have talent. Makes me feel old, I remember this song when it first came out like it was yesterday👍👍👍👍
I still get chills everytime I hear this song live. 25+ years later.
Way back when, I was aware that a lot of people put these guys down, then I actually listened to the song, and I was like, "These guys rock!"
Glad they are still rocking.A truly great song and superb lyrics.Rock on boys.
I been listen to hanson since 1994 till now. I'm 41 years old same age like taylor and I remember how great this song was when hit the radio station I still listened to them
What great harmonies, they sound great. Impressive to have a hit at such.a young age!
Yes, those harmonies are awesome. All three blend very well. 👍
lol "a hit" is insanely understated. This shit took the WORLD by storm.. it was freakin' nutty how big these kids were. To me, the most impressive thing is they did it WITHOUT the internet!!!
@@mikecalkins6467 Right! I am 34 and loved them, still do! Its amazing that they always got along as well! 🥰
Great song. Such a talented group. You don’t see this type of talent today and they’re so humble and they love their fans.
Hanson was always ahead of their time. Known these lyrics since I was 12, these lyrics hit different in your 30s
Ahead of their time in what way?
@@terrra_2024 Meaning they were so young for the quality of lyrics they were writing.

Eu amo essa banda!!! Fez muita parte da minha infância, assim como space girl, backstreet boys... Tive a oportunidade de ver um show de Hanson de Dallas, quando fui de férias pra lá em 2005. Foi lindo demais.
Bro, I was about 6 when they were at their height and I must say they are still great in my eyes! That harmony never dies.
Thanks for the beautiful Song. I love this Song very much, till to the moon and back. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love how they still play this because most artists who started as young as they did tend to treat songs that more or less put them on the map (in a way) act as if these songs are some dirty secret of sorts. It's because no other songs from them that's as popular as Mmbob
Like who? Give us an example...
Really impressed by this. I haven’t heard this song in years, never thought they’d still sound good. Absolutely Fantastic is more like it.
This song was something all the girls in my suite would sing to in college getting ready. It made hard days easier. I am so glad you guys are still performing it.
When my son was in college he couldn't get why all of the girls loved this song. I did, and still do.
This song never gets old. Thanks Hanson's for making, this song, MMMBop. Love it.

These guys embrace the one hit wonder thing. Most of us never get the one hit so why not embrace it.
I love these dudes, they're passionate about their craft. You gotta respect them for it. And they really are so bloody talented.
My kids and I really liked this song when it was first recorded. They "outgrew" it. I still think it's pretty awesome.
When I did my Grade 7 back in Bulolo Town Morobe Province Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬the boys came up with MMBop and I became one of their followers (fan). Still love listening to them ❤️
This song still slaps hard and these guys voices sound fantastic. The harmonies. Pros all day.

Wow... I remember this song from when I was younger, they sound amazing still
They could always sing. Amazing authentic performance!
This is probably repetitive in posts before, but this was a part of my "growing up" and weirdly the place I go to in music after much trauma...to uplift me. Thank you for your your beautiful representation of family.

My kids were 7 and 9 when this came out. I don't know how much they really liked this but they knew I freaking loved it and still do.

Still sounds as good as the first time I heard it! Awe
Legitimately brilliant. Great pop song, amazing harmonies, sung live 👏
They are so talented and underrated. Just brilliant.
I’m a 50 year old straight male and this song hits me to my core b/c of the harmony. Love this performance. Go ahead, take your shots, I’ll oblige
What's a straight male got to do with anything?
I'm right there with you! I'm 51. It's catchy and you can't help but to fall into the groove of this song!
they have real talent. Still great vocal range as they matured...
They are National Treasure... Protect them at all cost
They have gotten finer with time in so many ways! 💥😍 #Hanson
Seeing this video has definitely made me a fan
Latest generations lost the ability to recognize real talent in music, otherwise these kids were superstars.
Pamiętam ich z lat 90 , moje lata.Pierwsze prywatki, miłości, ach to były czasy
They're still amazing musicians. I LOVE LOVE there singing ❤❤❤
What he is saying is so true! More than he knows!!
Watching these guys make me feel so much younger...they were such cute kids and could sing!
Their harmonies are amazing
I’ve seen them twice and the second time their little brother Mac was touring with them with his band and I fell in love with this brothers band also.
I really love this song! I loved it the first time I heard it. But since they slowed it down to more of a balled I love and cherish it even more❤
I’ve never really been a fan of child acts but they were and still are very talented and a great song!
The Hanson army lives! And I’m literally talking about the every growing army of kids they all have will take over the world and party like it’s 1997 forever!
I loved mmmbop when it first came out , I was 21... I think, I'm 47 and love this song even more!!

Amazing vocals. Damn they sound great

This song's construct is one of the greatest pop rock earworms ever written btw...right up there w Toni Basel's Micky. I defy you to listen to the original recording and for 3 days after not have you hum it a few times a day.
There are some artists that perform songs from years and years ago and just don’t sound as good. But Lordy this sounded incredible!!!
Your comment is as cringey as this performance. My god I can’t believe there are so many idiots out there.
Well, they're better musicians now. Plus, the original album version was insipid and overproduced--the lyrics were so muddy it was difficult to clearly make out a lot of the words.
Personally, I think this is WAY better than the original, which is almost a novelty song by comparison.
Ah it take me back. They are still as brilliant as ever💕🎵
The way three brothers should be
God bless those three part harmonies.
These guys are the real deal.
omg all the 90s musician are back love this
I had no idea they were this funny charismatic and talented!

I still love them the same way... That song is their lottery ticket. 🥰
